I just wanted to clear up any confusion. This is a lifetime replacement for a part. Most manufacturers have gone to a 90 day warranty on their parts. Which means if you purchase a part, lets say for $60.00, and it fails at 91 days you would have to purchase another one for $60.00. This is an added service so that you would never have to purchase that part again as long as you own that appliance. If it was me I would be more upset at 91 days having to repurchase. Even if it failed 3 times it was $6.00. As for explaination at purchase it should be explained more in detail.

They had the part I needed, "GREAT", the price of the part was reasonable, "OK", but then added 10% to the invoice for a lifetime warranty, with no disclosure that the charge is being added to the total invoice. The only hint I received was the salesman comment, "this part has a lifetime warranty, if it fails bring it back for a replacement!

I did not ask for this warranty, it was automatically added according to the salesman. This is outright deceptive theft of your money, at a time when trust should be the issue !!!

Pros: Great stock on parts

Cons: Now they try to cheat you 10 % more!

On the other hand they heve every thing and are very knowledgeable. You on the other hand should know better than to buy insurance on a depreciating asset. So my philosophy is if you need a part and you don't want to wait for mail order mysteries (and miseries), just go there and get it

Pros: They know there onions.

Cons: They don't give away the parts.

Greer started a in-store lifetime warranty offer in 2007 -- may be worth the extra money on some items, but I felt taken by surprise when the kind salesman asked if I wanted this. In hindsight, a $6 extra on a $24 oven heating element (replacing the original of 20 years) was likely wasted money. I do not care for these on the spot decisions and even after writing to share my dislike for it, the written reply letter had no offer to return the money. Buyer beware! we must have our defences up even for an appliance parts store. ugh.
