vet should have muzzles for dogs on hand if owner does not have one!!!!!!
Freddy was in the right...

if dog bit Dr ear then he should not have put his face next to ear dogs face (vet should have put a muzzle on the dog as Standard Practice.

The only problem I've ever had with this office is the price. Which is the reason for the 4 instead of 5 stars.

They took care of my chihuahua for 11 years and treated her like their own and now that I have a new pup they will take care of him just as long.

I call all the time with questions and I always get answers. Yes, at times they are short answers but what can you expect from someone who is trying to juggle an entire business in two hands WHILE also seeing patients with the Dr.

Keith is the MOST knowlegeable Dr. I've ever taken my babies to. I tried a different vet at one point to see if I could save on price and they almost kill my little chi because they gave her the wrong dose of meds even though I insisted they cross reference.

I am a very controlling dog owner and any time I have objected or had questions, Keith has stopped and taken time to answer them.

I suffer from anxiety so I worry a lot about my dogs and sometimes I can tell Jackie is busy when I call so I wait and call back and she answers more in depth and without any rudeness. and trust me... I call A LOT.

Every business is going to have issues but if you are looking for a place that will LOVE your babies as you do this is the place. I've refered many people and they love them just the same.

I was looking to board my Boston Terrier and my vet didn't do boarding. So I talked to the people I worked with to see where they took their pets. I was lead to Penn Clinic where I made a reservation for my dog sight unseen, just by the person who took my call taking the time to address my concerns had left me at ease. I lived in Midwest City and drove across the city just to know i had selected a Clinic that would play with my dog a few times a day and not just put her in a cage for the week I was out of town. My dog usually dosen't eat well when she's boarded and loses weight by the time I pick her up. This was Not the case at Penn Clinic they tried hand feeding her which didn't work so they gave her canned dog food so that she would eat. When I picked her up she was a totaly different dog. Any other time she had to be boarded at other clinics, she was shaking from nerviousness and lost several pounds. They made her comfortable and took care of her like she was their dog. I've never picked up my dog and saw a happy dog that actually ate, until her stay at Penn South Pet Clinic. Very friendly to my dog and myself.

DR. Keith and his staff have been wonderful to dealwith. He has always explained what is going on with our dogs and given us different options on treatment. He has tried to keep our costs as reasonable as possible while still taking good care of our dogs. His staff always call to check up on the dogs after treatment. I have no desire to look anywhere else and am completely satisfied with his work.

The recepitionist is extremely rude!!! I would not recommend this place if you want a vet that cares about your animal. Dr. Rammage seemed to care less about my dogs health. The receptionist hung up the phone in my face, I left messages for the office manager and she has not called me back. I am very disappointed and would never return to this place.

Our family has been taking our "furry" family members to Penn South Vet Clinic since I can remember - and I can actually remember before Keith became the vet.

We love Penn South and would never change. We helped us through the process of euthanizing a beloved family dog, and dealing with a host of other medical issues.

As a first time pet owner on my own my new lab puppy contracted a bacterial infection in his intestines. Keith saw him several times to help and eventually kept our puppy almost a full week nursing him back to health. When I came to visit his crate was back in Keith's office - not with the other dogs. Our puppy was getting so much personal attention and treatment!

The staff has ALWAYS been respectful, kind, and accommodating to us and loving towards our pets. If you waited it's probably because they don't deal with emergencies in the same way "Emergency" Vet Clinics do (they also don't charge as much as the "Emergency" Clinics either!) but rather they are a pet clinic. Just like you wouldn't go to your regular family physician but instead the ER if you had an emergency you should go to an Emergency Vet in your pet has one.

Per the biting situation, having been bitten by two aggressive dogs as a young adult I understand the trauma and money it can cost to repair the damage. It is YOUR responsibility (legally as well as ethically) as the dog owner to control your pet and if your pet does any damage to another pet/human to pay for such damage.

This Vet Clinic has been wonderful!!! They care about the dogs. Dr Keith is brilliant! He has helped us in many ways in understanding our dogs and how to care for them. I have people who just drop by my office all the time without an appointment and they understand why there is a long wait. Every time if have been to the vet clinic, I have gotten in with 5 to 10 minutes of my appointment. But even if it took longer, I would give the person the benefit of at least explaining why it ran over. In most cases, I would bet that he was caring for a dog that took longer to treat. The lady that was complaining about how long it took should have had the courtesy to ask why. I will bet she would have wanted to doctor to take all the time needed if it was her pet.

I found this clinic 12 years ago when my husband and I took in an abandoned 4 pound yorkie/lhasa mix. Within 24 hours the dog was sick. She had parvo virus. With what we thought was an immediate death sentence, Dr Rammage saved her life within 48 hours. He also saved her life twice since then. She is now 12 years old and at 14 pounds rules the roost.

We have taken 6 other dogs and 1 fat cat to him since then. He has the BEST bed side manner of any vet I've ever met. He is the ONLY person that can get my otherwise bad tempered cat to come willingly out of her carrier.

And as for freddy h. I was in the clinic just hours after your German Shepherd attacked Dr. Rammage and was very concerned about him. I was afraid that it would change his attitude about animals. Luckily, it didn't. He is just as sweet as ever. In case you never heard, German Shepherds are notorious for biting people. This is why you should muzzle a dog like that or get rid of it which you have.

As a matter of fact, we will be taking our newest puppy in to be neutered within a couple of weeks. Many of the people that I work with also take their pets to Dr. Rammage and are very satisfied. I recommend this clinic with confidence to anyone.

I cannot give enough kudos to the doctor and his staff!!!! I have a Rhodesian Ridgeback that is 11 years old and had been having problems with tumors. After going through a difficult ordeal at another vet the tumors came back so I too her to Penn South. He put her on a different type of treatment and has been wonderfully successful. Just took her back because of colon issues and the doc has her back on the road to recovery. I would fully recommend this clinic to anyone and everyone!!! It's funny reading some of the negative reviews after I started going there. I'm not saying they are unfounded because I wasn't there but I definitely don't see anything like that happening in this clinic.

After reading these reviews, I would like to let everyone know what kind of care Penn South clinic and Dr. Rammages gave me. I had taken in our family cat in for a check up after some small lumps developed under the skin of her back. I decided to take her to Penn South after the recommendations from two of my closest neighbors. That was my first visit to this clinic.

After Dr Rammages removed the lumps off her back, he told me that he would have them sent off for testing. Then he called me two days later with the results. Unfortunately, the test turned out to be positive for a fast growing cancer. My Family and I were devastated with the bad news. He told me that she would only have just a few weeks to live. He was right, she died two weeks to the day.
What I have to say about this experience is this; When Dr Rammages called me with the bad news, he spent over 30 minutes with me on the phone explaining the type of cancer she had and what it would do. But more than anything, he stayed on the phone with me that long to make sure I was going to be ok. This man is a great doctor for animals, and humans too!.

What would make you think Dr. Rammages staff isnt qualified or educated? Do you know for a fact that his facility isnt equipped for emergencies? I however, know two of the girls have been with him for 10 or more years and I find them very qualified and educated. One of his newer employees is going to OSU to receive her degree in Veterinary Technology. There are two Kennel attendants and they are not there to educate the clients. The facility is actually larger than most, and the size shouldnt be relevant in the treating of animals anyway. Dr. Rammage does not see after hours Emergency calls but handles any emergency that comes into his clinic during working hours. He has the capability to run blood work for emergencies as well as routine labs. He can do x-rays at anytime and also uses one of the safest anesthesia there is. Its sad that you made such a judgement in only two visits. It would be nice to actually know what made you come to the conclusion you did. I however, have no problem in trusting Dr. Rammage and his staff with my pets. I obviously have used them for years and actually have gotten to know them. Sometimes people just dont mesh with their veterinarians and need to look else where to find a place that will suit their needs.

I just recently got a puppy and took him to the Penn South Pet Clinic for his first two check-ups and shots, et cetera. I don't believe they're the *most* qualified/educated staff, and the clinic itself is very small, not suitable for emergencies or anything, but they are pretty good, I suppose.
The staff is kind enough. And Dr. Rammage treats my puppy with much care and love (who wouldn't, my dog's adorable), but I have a hard time trusting them.
All in all, an okay place.

I just got a dog for the first time so I took her into the vet to get a checkup. I had alot of questions so I decided to ask the receptionist. She wasn't nice at all and acted very irritated. She spoke to me in a demeaning tone like I was stupid. She showed no respect at all. As this is my first dog, I know I'm new to this so I was just hoping for some assurance. I love my new dog so I just want to make perfectly sure I will be doing everything correctly. I will NOT come back to this clinic again. I STRONGLY recommend all pet owners to go somewhere else. People with that attitude do not deserve any business.

I have taken my babies - cats and dogs - to Penn South for a few years now. The staff is always so kind and gentle with my pets and have always been spot-on with diagnosis and treatment. My cat, who is extremely anti-social, becomes a whole different ball of fur when the doctor holds her. All of a sudden, she's this loving, snuggly little wonder and thinks he walks on water. From a cat who normally disdains everyone except at feeding time, I think this is some mighty high praise. And all of the treatment has been very affordable, no matter what is required. I have no hesitations about bringing my loved ones here.

If you want excellent care for your pet at an affordable price go to Penn South! My cat was recently treated and had to stay in their care for about a week. The staff were all amazingly kind, they had absolutely no problem with me visiting my cat. The vet is great, he explains everything clearly and in great detail. He saved my cat's life! I have great confidence in him. My cats have went to Dr Rammage for years now and we have always had great care! You can really tell everyone there really cares for their patients!
As far as the rating from Freddy H., I find it really sad that Dr. Rammage had to go through the pain from that dog biting him, but even more sad the owner of the dog is so cold hearted to post negative comments online about the vet.
So again, I must say GREAT GREAT place!! Affordable! Caring! HIGHLY recommended!

My pets have been clients of this clinic for 18 years.
They are always kind and caring.
Dr Ramage is great with my dogs, even when they try to bite and injure him and his staff.
I have never had a concern with the diagnosis of my dogs.
My pack stays at the clinic 1-2 times a year when I am on vacation. The staff are even kind when I bug them a few times to check on my babies.

In response to Freddy H. and his 110 pound German Shepherd , which he no longer owns because of fear, I never threatened a lawsuit only asked for home owners insurance on the request of my insurance agent. My health insurance paid for approximately 90 % of the $ 18000 in medical expenses incurred to date to rebuild my ear. I did nothing inappropriate in treatment or response to this dog or client but Freddy H. is trying to make something out of it to ease his conscience.

I love the Penn South Pet Clinic. They have provided my pets with the best possible care. The dogs are not afraid of the Vet or the attendants. Out pets need to be socialized to the extent of being handled by others. That is out job a owners. We can't place the blame on anyone else if out dog bites anyone. Your homeowners insurance is in place to cover you if your pet bites. THAT IS WHAT IT IS FOR... I love the people at Penn South. Thank you for your service to out pets. Lori

In 1991 my cat was "fired" from this clinic because he was aggressive when handled by the staff. Though this eventually lead to his death because of the mistreatment at ANOTHER clinic. I respected Penn South's decision to not treat my baby rather than MIS-treat him because of his unfriendly behaviour. My recommendation to them at that time would've been to train the staff how to properly deal with an aggressive/scared/spoiled cat.

In 2007 my parent's cat was 19 & extremely ill, she needed euthanasia. She had never been a patient anywhere except an out-of-town clinic. I took her to Penn South where everyone treated us with respect & the utmost compassion. The Veterinarian was gentle & kind, the friendly staff were thoughtful.

I would recommend this Clinic for their honesty, their compassion & their friendly staff.

I would recommend this Clinic for their honesty, their compassion & their friendly staff.

.

My dog had come down with some kind of skin ailment that causes its fur to fall out in patches. Hoping that it wasn't too bad, I brought it in to Penn South Clinic and was told that I needed to get some antibiotics to fight off an infection that it had acquired.

After two weeks of no improvement, I got a second opinion at Reno Animal Hospital where I found out that ammonia in my pool was irritating its skin, causing the hair to fall out. I solved the ammonia problem (which caused other problems with my pool water itself) and the fur-fallout was solved.
