Let me start by saying this is not the first time I've been to Meineke. I work 2 doors down from this location and it's convenient to drop off my vehicle and pick it up at the end of the day. That being said, my uncle runs a Hercules Tire & Lube shop and has been in the business for 45 years. The only reason I don't go there is because it is not close to where I usually am. I dropped off my vehicle at Meineke at 1 p.m. today, figuring an oil change and tire rotation would be done by the end of the workday AT THE LATEST (5 P.M.) which I also mentioned to the guy at the counter stating I would be off by 5 and that's when I needed it done by at the very latest. I also mentioned I wanted the rear tires moved to the front *keep this in mind for later in the story*. Well 5 o'clock rolls around and I hadn't heard from them so I walked over after finishing at work only to see my car was STILL on the lift and the hood was still up as if they hadn't finished the oil change. I walked up and inspected the tires to find that they hadn't been rotated. So I went inside to see there was no one at the counter. I stood there for about 15 minutes waiting for someone to come in from the shop (I didn't see anyone as I was walking in or else I wouldn've said something then) finally a "mechanic" steps in after getting Sonic in which his wife/girlfriend brought him. As I proceed to tell him my car should've been done by now he insists he was told "It didn't matter" when my car was tended to and that "it could wait". I find this extremely offensive and frankly terrible service. My car is not cheap even at cost to change the oil, and I have record of being a customer there. This bothers me because my car had been there for 4 hours and I pay much more for my service than others but they're getting their cars done first. I proceed to ask for a supervisor but I'm told he's a "traveling manager" who's out of town and they're not allowed to give out his phone number. That's a complete crock of crap. Who am I suppose to talk to? Im not going to call customer service and talk to someone on the phone. Anyways, they finally finish and it comes out to $69!!! The previous oil and rotate was $49 and both times I requested the $29.99 supreme package. Given my filter is supposedly $15 but whatever. Upon looking at the tires they STILL HAD NOT BEEN ROTATED! I confront the person that drove it out and he claims he did it on purpose because you're suppose to have more tread on the rear. THAT IS FALSE. My uncle who has been in this industry for 45 years has always told and serviced vehicles keeping better tires up front maintains better handling and wears more because of the engine weight (so to keep the tires worn evenly put the meatier ones up front) common sense in the tire world. However, Meineke employees must be told differently. Both the "mechanic" and the young man who brought my car out insisted I was wrong and they couldn't believe what I was saying. Regardless of what they thought though, I told them when I dropped it off I wanted the fronts moved to the back. They didn't do what I wanted and gave me a hard time when I made them fix it. I got no reimbursement or even a goodbye. At that point they were trying to get me out of there. I wouldn't be surprised if they forgot to top off my fluids. Anyways, I just wanted someone, anyone to know why i won't be using Meineke ever again.

Ok, since January, this Meineke on Memorial is no longer a company store. It is privately owned and run. What a difference in the last time I went and now!!

The place is now clean and tidy and the owner [not a Meineke pigeon] seems to be concerned about his customer's well being.

Fixed an issue I'd had for a long time with my windshield wipers. Had to take the steering wheel off to do it. Did it no charge! Also gave me a card that after 4 oil changes, the 5th is free.

As the previous review, these people are dishonest. I took my car to have the brake pads replaced. Of course, I also needed to have calipers and rotors replaced as well. They were claiming that it would do no good to just change the pads. Of note, two customers came through while I was there, trying to get a 'redo' of poor work. I did it myself on my next day off in a few minutes. If you enjoy being talked to like you're inbred retarded by scum whose only thought is how much they can hydraulically jack out of you, go there.

If I could've given negative amounts of stars I would have. I took my car in for a routine brake check telling the mechanic that the brakes had been squeaking. They did an evaluation and then called to say that my brakes were "falling apart" and that everything I needed to fix would cost way over 500 dollars. I knew better and feared I was being led on because I'm a young woman in her mid-twenties. The kind auto repair mechanics love to prey on. I took my car to Sears the next day. They fixed the brakes for 120 dollars-and discovered that Meineke had taken my brakes completely apart during the evaluation (there was no reason to) and had damaged the drums. Thats what I wound up paying to fix-drums that hadn't needed replacing until they were damaged... was it purposeful? I dunno....
