My orthodontist referred me to Dr Bennett, which was about the worst mistake I ever made. After my first appointment, he made me to back to the orthodontist and have my braces removed immediately so he could fit me with his little TMJ splint (that I was supposed to have for 9 months. Still have it 5+ years later!). I noticed that every person in his office wears one of these TMJ splints, which makes it really hard to believe that his practice is legit. I find it hard to believe that every employee he has suffers from TMJ. It's almost like a fad around there, which I always thought was a bit on the fishy side. Actually, it really bothered me.

The splint has literally destroyed all of my bottom teeth and my jaw is worse off then when I started treatement. None of my teeth are in the right places & he didn't have the orthodontist remove all of my bands and brackets on the top of my mouth so there is no telling what those teeth are like underneith the bands. Every dentist I go to won't touch them because they're afraid the teeth will fall apart.

I still have chronic headaches every single day- I would do just about anything to have one day headache free.

My splint cost me $1600 out of pocket as they don't take insurance & every office visit whether they did anything or not was I think $80, but that was more than 5 years ago so I am quite sure their prices have gone up.

I would not recommend this Dr. I feel like I have been scammed and taken for the thousands they made me pay for "treatment". And I agree with everyone else- his wife really is not so nice.

I took my son to see Dr. Bennett yesterday. He's very nice & courteous, but this is not the case for his office manager (maybe wife), I asked her "Why the retainers are so expensive ($1800)?" She raised her voice & answered me in a very defensive way, needs some customer service orientation. I don't think I'll go back there.

This place will price gouge you! Doctor isn't there half the time. Some lady wearing braces, office mgr or something is a total jerk! They demand total payment up front, won't take insurance and their rates are unbelievable! I don't know who can afford them. I think because he is one of the few in our town he thinks he can do that to ppl and he does. You tell them you are in pain and the dr nor the staff seem to care or believe you. I suggest driving outside of Tulsa to find another TMJ doctor, it's worth the drive..might spend 20-30 dollars in gas but might save you thousands in fees that this joke of a dentist will charge! The staff waits on you wearing jeans and sweatshirts, polishes their nails while you are there then have the guts to ask you for hundreds of dollars before you leave. Screw that place!

While Dr. Bennett is knowledgable, his wife is a b_____ and makes you not want to go there. Cant he see what she is doing to his practice. They say love is blind. I guess so.....She is so rude to his employees, I don't know why they stay with him.

I was able to go to Dr. Bennett for several visits until I couldn't afford him any more. I have suffered from cronic tmj for years & finally was able to get health insurance and felt very lucky to do so thinking most doctors accepted insurance. Even though after starting with him & finding out my insurance would only pay 50% of what was allowed because he was out of net work I went to him as long as I could. My complaint is not with his knowledge or beside manner. He seemed very educated & nice but......doesn't take insurance which makes me think he truly does not care about how much pain his patients are in. His treatment is very, very expensive & unless you are fortunate enough to afford him you are out of luck. In Oklahoma there are only 2 tmj specialist & neither one takes insurance. I don't know why a doctor chooses not to take insurance I wonder if it is because it takes money out of his or her pocket I don't know but it sure makes it hard on low & middle class people.

Very expensive, very difficult to deal with on the insurance side of things. I also feel he should have been honest with me when it became clear he couldn't help me. Staff was rude.

I have known Dr. Bennett for 15 years; I have been both a patient and an employee in his office. I can say that I have never had him treat me nor witnessed him treating any of his staff in a rude manner. Dr. Bennett is excellent at treating TMJ and he is a wonderful boss.

Dr. Bennett is very knowledgeable about TMJ, and very helpful and understanding, But they are not discrete about disciplining their staff in front of patients or correcting them in a rude manor. I recently visited their new wedsite, and they didnt even use their actual staff members. Dr. Bennett is good a what he treats, but could treat his staff better.

I have had headaches, earaches and facial pain for over 3 years and had been to many doctors that couldn't figure out what was wrong. I was feeling pretty desperate and by some luck ran into someone who was in treatment with Dr. Bennett. He treated me with an appliance that I had to wear all the time (except to eat) and it was pretty amazing that almost all my symptoms had disappeared by the time of my two week check-up. I continued to improve and I wore the appliance for several more months to let everything heal real well. Since I didn't do well without the appliance we started ortho to change my bite and I'm half way thru my treatment and it's so good to not have a headache everyday. Thank you, thank you!!!!!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Bennett for 3 years now, and I must say that I am very dissatisfied. What started out as a nine month treatment for TMJ in a night guard turned into 2 years. Then his next treatment was to put braces on and I'm now into a year of this which was suppose to be nine months. I used to have perfectly straight teeth now I have gaps and the roots are now touching. I still have a lot of TMJ problems. Now that I have spent thousand of dollars and still have a TMJ probably, and what looks like no relief in sight from Dr. Bennett. In the beginning of my treatment I thought Dr. Bennett was very informative and knowledgeable on TMJ. Now he doesn't seem to care and just in it for the money. I would suggest to research and due your homework. I am now trying to find someone else to treat my TMJ and ortho.

Right now his practice is limited to TMJ work, which means he does virtually no dental work other than make very expensive night guards for people who grind their teeth. I had one made, and went to him for several months for a monthly check-up. What I found was that wearing the appliance made things worse. I don't think he listened when I kept telling him I wasn't feeling better. The office is in an older part of town in a renovated house. The people who work there seem nice but artificial.

PROS: Easy to be referred to by another dentist.
CONS: Way too expensive and not helpful; wife is his office manager and accounts
