Poos Taekwondo is an excellent martial arts facility located in Edmond, Oklahoma. The large bright building is well laid out for both training and audience viewing. Poos teaches taekwondo for all ages and abilities from young children and adult beginners to several elite national champions. Jason Poos is an excellent instructor who, along with his father Guy Poos and many other multi-degree black belt instructors, regularly gets involved with each student. My son tried out the $69 trial program (which even included the uniform) and loved everything about it. Its an economical way to test the program out and see if your child enjoys it. The students progress is monitored by instructors throughout the program as students are allowed to advance according to their own abilities. Taekwondo instills discipline, culture, independence, activity, motor skills, and fitness. The inclusion of martial arts props, such as the Bo Staff and optional Sparring sport, really help to motivate and challenge students entering advanced Taekwondo. There are a variety of class times available to fit any schedule. There is a store for uniforms and accessories. The new training floor is the same as that used in the Olympics. The audience viewing area even includes free Wi-Fi, flat screen televisions, children activity table area, a variety of seating options, and restrooms all in a climate controlled setting. There are plenty of students to pair up and train with. In some cases, parents choose to train with their children, siblings or friends, and can be found training side by side. The bottom line is whether you want to learn taekwondo solo or with your family or train to be among the other elite national champions, Poos is the place to be.
Recommendations: For parents: have your children join at the same time with a friend of similar height and abilities and perhaps workout a car-pool plan. For all: attend at least two classes per week.

My brother became ranked third in the Junior Olympics through the training from Poos. This a family run facility with a family friendly atmosphere. My brother learned discipline and grew in maturity through his training and the mentor ship here.
