I recently moved to Tulsa and have been taking my dog to Groomingdales for a few months now and am very happy with not only the job they do but how well they treat the dogs. Our dog is large (about 60 pounds) and a puppy (about 1.5 years old). The place does not have a fancy decor but as far as I am concerned they cover all of the important things: 1. Treat the dogs well and love dogs themselves; 2. The dogs are free to socialize with other dogs if you want (they usually let the dogs run around and play before or after their grooming so they are not locked up in a cage for long periods of time, they also keep an eye out to insure the dogs are being nice to one another) or you can keep your dog separated from other dogs if you want; 3. They have always done a nice grooming / bathing job. And every time I bring our dog in they ask what I would like to have done. They are open to feedback and have groomed our dog exactly the way I requested every time. There was one time I wanted them to cut our dogs ears a little shorter and she had no problem doing it (However, I ended up leaving them long the next time, they looked better the way she had initially done it!) 4. The price is competitive. They are not the cheapest or most expensive in town, I'd say right in the middle. Besides, I do not mind paying a little more to insure my dog is taken care of... They do book up quickly so I'd schedule at least a week in advance. At Groomingdales on 81st & Harvard, I feel that overall they do a great job and I would easily recommend them to anyone looking for a solid groomer!

I remember this person who so desperately needed her oily, filthy, snappy dog groomed. I see where she does mention the the "GUNK" was still in her dogs eyes. Yes, the eyes on this dog were so badly matted shut that sedation would have been needed to get around the sore eye rims. This dog was long over due for a groom. The dog wouldn't let me get anywhere near the legs or face with the scissors or clippers. The dog continuously bit snapped and snarled at me. As for 3 cuts on the ears, I would have mentioned that to her, but I don't think I even touched the ears. I called the owner and asked her to come and get her dog because I had done all I could on it. My sign states that I would like all owners to be available to pick their dogs up when called. We don't like to keep dogs all day and have always felt the dogs do better if sent home promptly after grooming. This has been a condition at Groomingdales for 15 years, and one that my clients appreciate. We have a large window that looks into our work area, why would we intentionally leave her standing in the entry. Why didn't she say hello? Then again when she returned. We must have been busy talking. I guess our conversation was interesting to her. 10 minutes interesting. Business usually post "Visa", "master card" accepted here, not "We do not accept Visa or Master Card". Yes, I did tell her that "we don't take Visa", how else was I to tell her that. She was already perturbed, so a smile from her, or me at this time was hard to muster up. My services are priced accordingly to the breed, clip and the time involved. I am an exceptional dog groomer and have a affluent dedicated client base. Please know that it is my mission to treat each and every " dog" in my establishment with respect. I value my people and their dogs and I won't let one person trash my business without rebuttal. Jill Cloud

I have been taking my 2 poodles to Jill at Groomingdale's for about a year now. She does an outstanding job! I have even had the opportunity to be "in the back" while she worked on my dogs and other's dogs. In my observation, the dogs are well treated, loved on and look fabulous when finished. This is not a run-of-the-mill shop. The dogs are often allowed the freedom to play in protected areas instead of being in crates the entire time. Though Jill does ask you to be available to pick your dogs up when they are finished, I am happy to pick my dogs up when they are ready to go. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't want them to stay all day. If you are looking for a groomer that will give you way more service than the typical high volume shop, Groomingdale's is the place to go! She even takes walk-ins!

Found "Groomingdales" dog grooming shop and had to tell the City how beautiful and happy my dog looks. The service was quick and no guff about it. The shop was clean and small in nature to other shops. There wasn't any smell nor loud barking. My dog was ready in a short amount of time, not having to stay there All DAY, like other grooming shops and the price was the same as Petsmart and Petco. She looked like she was ready to go to the Eukanuba Cup Show thats on TV. She has never been so white and every hair was perfect. The groomer was a pleasent and helpful.

I took my dog to Groomingdale's for the first and last time. When I arrived, I stood up front for 5 minutes before anyone noticed I was there. I told the woman what I wanted, and without a smile or anything, she told me I needed to be available to pick my dog up when she called. I assumed she was just busy so said okay. 2 hours later, she called to tell me to come pick her up. When I arrived, the same thing happened. I stood up front and watched and listened to her and another woman have a full 10 minute long conversation while I waited. When they brought my dog to me, I thought she had been attacked. The haircut was horrible, she still had brown "gunk" in her eyes. I pulled my credit card out, to which she snapped at me "I don't take that!" There were no signs posted. I wrote a check and asked her to clean my dog up, which she rudely did, snapping at my dog "SIT STILL!" the entire time. She clearly is an example of someone who works on dogs because people can't stand her personality. I will never take my dog there again. When I got home, I found 3 small cuts on my dog's ears from her scissors. She is rude, unprofessional, and overpriced.

Pros: No appointments necessary

Cons: Poor quality. Rude service. Overpriced for the market.
