Uses deceptive practices to keep auto-renewing after the initial contract is up. When I inquired to see when my contract was up, they didn't disclose that if they didn't receive written notice by said date the contract would be renewed for another year. Many states are outlawing this deceptive practice, unfortunately Oklahoma is not one of them. Also they report having an A rating and being an accredited company with the Better Business Bureau on their website. When you check with the BBB, it shows Network Alarm to have a D- rating and no accreditation.

Seth dropped by after five this afternoon and replaced the connector on the window in less than 5 minutes. I was so relieved to be able to arm the system again completely tonight. Thanks so much for your help. I really appreciate you.\r

The people who came & installed the home alarm was so nice & even came back days later just to make sure it was still working! Great knowing that there are people out there that actually care about their clients more than the work itself.

I have been with them for 5 years and their service is dependable and reasonably priced. Like ALL alarm companies, you sign a contract for service and monitoring, but I'm paying to protect my family and a few bucks a month is not too much, so even this "downside" is more than acceptable.

Network Alarm Services is THE worse company that I have ever had to deal with! I cancelled my services a few weeks ago and paid the termination fee only to receive ANOTHER bill not more than three days later. The crazy thing is that when they sent a technician out to ??TERMINATE? our services, he pretended to show us features about our alarm system, like how to reset the time for the system. The next thing we know, we get a ??SHOW AND TELL? bill (that was the actual name) in the mail. Also, the technician sat outside our home for 45 minutes before calling and pretending that he was lost and that he could not find our address. It was so hilarious that I actually walked outside to let him know that I was watching his act. PLEASE DO NOT go with Network Alarm, we got swindled as first time home owners. Our builder offered their 6 months free bit at the time of our Closing, but little did we know that there was a 3 YEAR CONTRACT waiting in the mist. There are better alarm monitoring services out there, save your TIME and your MONEY. Also, while trying to terminate our services, one of the women there was pretending like the folks at Network Alarm were building a new WEBSITE. She asked if I could send her an email basically telling the world that they allowed me to terminate my contract early and that I really appreciated their services. HA! I didn??t do it; maybe that??s why I got the SHOW AND TELL bill a few days later. THESE FOLKS ARE STRAIGHT UP CROOKS. BEWARE!!!!!!

Signed contract, and discovered that we were not being monitored. I remember the alarm going off at 1:00 am one morning, and 5 minutes went by before an operator called. Cancelled and paid the contract in full. About 12 days later someone from their office placed a statement in our mailbox (did not bother to mail it). Talk about unprofessional conduct.

They even tried to bill me for months I had already paid. Don't know if it's just bad bookkeeping, a dishonest company, or both.

I have never dealt with a more dishonest company. I signed a 1 year service agreement which I changed to month to month by phone the same day the contract was signed. The sales agent said no problem and that she would get it changed. Fast forward 3 or 4 years, I decide to cancel my service due to a decline in performance by the company call back as well as over all customer satisfaction. The sales women never changed the agreement and now I am stuck paying the bill for the rest of the term. The people in the Norman office do not know how to do anything except for give customers the run around. I will never do business with NAS again and I going to contact the Better Business Bureau on Monday.

Cancelling service with these people is almost impossible. The contracts auto-renew and have to be cancelled in writing. And, the cancellation can't be with the local company. If you ask them by phone how to cancel, all you get is the runaround. If you miss the cancellation date and the contract renews (automatically) before you can cancel, you owe them 80% of the whole year's contract!

I faxed them a letter to cancel my services but they sent me a bill. When I called their office regarding this and out of curiosity asked them if they were still monitoring me,, I was told that for the last three months they havent been monitoring my alarm but they have been sending me a bill.
When I called about the cancellation they were willing to waive those bills if I continued my services. Dont they generate confidence when you find out 3 months later that they havent been monitoring you?
Now, getting to cancellation, I am told that during the renewal period I cannot cancel before the end of the year. If I do so, I need to pay a penalty of 75 dollars.

Please, please consider this review before wasting your money on this company. Not only have they damaged my house in the processof trying to install and then "fix" their own installation, but my alarm has gone off twice in the last two months, and the service does not work! I repeat, the service I am paying for is not doing the job of contacting the proper authorities once the alarm goes off. They are, however, quite good at calling and harrassing me to get the money they are "owed". They are utterly and completely ridiculous. They have made repeated promises to come and survey the damage they did to my home, and yet, no one has come, not even once. Wish me luck- I am trying to convince them to let me out of my contract. It looks like I'm going to have to contact an attorney. BEWARE!

I would not recommend Network Alarm to anyone! I have tried for 6 months to get my service cancelled and paid the $75 cancellation fee and I am still getting bills for their service. It is such a pain to deal with their processing department. It is a shame because all of the ladies I have spoken with in the Norman, OK office have been so kind. I will not ever use them again for a monitoring service.

Here goes my long story which has yet to be resolved:
I bought an alarm system from Network Alarm Company 4 years ago. It was a brand new, wireless system which cost me over $1000! Upon moving, I requested that the equipment I purchased be transferred to my new residence to which I was told "No" by an employee of Network Alarm because they would replace my system for free and install it into my new house. My system was replaced but not with the same system that I purchased rather with a cheap wired version. Upon moving again, I had to FIGHT with these people at both their local office and National office to get my original wireless system back.
They charged me $50 to keep my contracted rate (which they said they have always done but according to my previous contracts is false). They then sent me a letter stating that they were going to raise my monthly rate before the ink was dry on my contract! How can they do that? They also ammended my original contract to say that they would not charge me a fee to reinstall my equipment but refuse to ammend my new contract to say that so that they can suck more money out of me....
BOTTOM LINE>>>>>
Do NOT use this company. Also as other people have stated, they will not help you or call you back and the people at the local office are complete idiots that CANNOT help you!

Network Alarm ??monitors? the business I manage. In the time I have been managing this business I have realized that there are many businesses out there that, unfortunately, we have depended on to provide a service or deliver a product, who don??t live up to their word. Network Alarm is one of those businesses. When we have a problem with our security system, which happens pretty regularly, we call to have a technician sent out. Sometimes the technician shows up and sometimes they don??t. Since it is usually in the middle of the night when we ask to send a tech out, I realize the person who does the scheduling is not there. So, I ask the overnight monitoring staff to have the scheduling person call me as soon as an appointment is made, so we know when to expect them. But to this day the scheduling person still has not called me, ever. In fact, right now I am waiting for a call back from a supervisor at Network Alarm. I would imagine I will have to call them back, again, to see if I can get anything resolved.
We have five buildings that Network Alarm covers. When they call and say an alarm is going off, I ask them what building. Their staff tells me our address. I know that much already, all five buildings have the same address. Their staff does not even know what building is potentially being broken into. If I am lucky enough to speak with an employee who can figure out what building is going off, they will tell me what zone of the building is activated. But they don??t know what area of the building that zone is referring to.
Earlier this year, we accidently set off an alarm on one of the buildings. We called Network Alarm to tell them it was just an accident and not to dispatch the police. They informed us that they weren??t getting a signal from us and they didn??t even know that our alarm was going off. There is a line on the billing statements that says ??remember to test your alarm monthly,? so since we didn??t check our alarm monthly they said it was our fault they didn??t know they were not receiving a signal from us.

Although we signed a three-year contract, the company inserted a clause which essentially automatically renews your contract (with no notice) and so we now are required to pay a $75 fee to cancel our service because we missed the three-year mark by a week (my wife was having a baby that week). I filed a complaint with the BBB, but the company will not budge on the fee. If I had seen some of the complaints written here before I signed the contract, I never would have signed it. In my opinion, I think the entire purpose of 'perpetual contracts' is to defraud consumers and they should be outlawed in Oklahoma!

This company is worse than Cox. We have been awake since 3am saturday morning. The alarm has been going off nonstop and the people on the phones are worthless. They have called their "supervisor," who I have found out is an employee who has worked there longer. This "supervisor" essentially told the phone people to tell us to wait till monday. The "supervisor" refused to call us and after repeated phone calls has turned off her phone. Also, the weekend "technician" won't return their phone calls. This company apparently has no chain of command and is run by someone in the shadows who is impossible to contact. Do yourself a favor and hire a company that actually knows something about running a business.

Horrible service. I have read the blogs here and they are true. This company stole money out of my checking account!!!! I allowed them to bill me through direct debit as they offered me a $2.95/month discount if I did. For 2 years they debited me at the correct agreed upon rate. Then they raised the price twice with NO notification before I canceled . To top that off, they switched their billing to a billing processing center in Pennsylvania and GAVE them my bank account information to allow them to debit my account...again, with NO notice. I called the company and Nancy (one of the office managers I suppose) denied ever having an agreement with me for a cheaper rate and said they should have back billed for the "in-writing" agreement since she didn't know of any verbal agreements. She says they have NEVER done verbal agreements, however she said she had not worked there at the time my contract was initiated...so how would she know, or was she telling another lie. She tried to turf calls to the billing department, but the billing department would turf me back to Network Alarms. These people are crooks! I am military and after 5 years of service with Network Alarms, I got orders to another location that they did not cover so I had to cancel my service. They refused to cancel it, denied receiving my written notice and charged (at an even higher rate) for the 2 months they were supposed to have disconnected. They thought they would draft my account for a $75 disconnect fee, even though I already met the initial agreement of two years service (used them for 5 years), but score one for me...I already closed my bank account! They owe me about $100 so I call it even. Also there were a few times my alarm went off, granted it was an accident (thank goodness), but they NEVER called or sent police to the house to see if we were okay. How did they know it was an accident. Spend your money with another company!!!

When my in-laws built their new home recently, they decided to include a security system to increase the value of the home. Unfortunately, they called Network Alarm Services. They were promised a state of the art system, which was not what they received. My husband was furious when he saw the work completed by the employees of Network Alarm Systems. They did a very sloppy job, with all the wires showing, just looking bad. To make it worse, they used a very cheap system, that we could have found at a much lower price elsewhere. We called the company to complain about the sloppy job, but they would not do anything to fix it. We will never use their services in the future!

PROS:
CONS: bad customer service, sloppy work, inferior systems
