I have been taking my cars to Certified Mechanics for about 15 years and I have always been satisfied with the cost and the work performed. They don't do work that isn't needed and they are very up front about costs and options. The shop is small enough that you don't have work done by some rookie or temporary employee.

After reading some of the other comments which lauded this shop's "honest and integrity" decided to go by there this week.

For a simple parts replacement, the mechanic I spoke with initially ballparked $300 on a part that costs $180; when I asked if I could bring in the replacement for installation, was told flat out, "We don't install parts that you walk in with." When asked why, he said (direct quote), "We have to make money on mark-ups for the parts as well as labor." He then rushed off the phone. I'd suggest you find a mechanic that wants your business, not one that wants to squeeze you for every cent, even for simple repairs.

Mechanic I spoke to was very rude and curt. I would never take my vehicle to be serviced by this company.

I have used these mechanics twice in the past six months. Both times, the service was extremely fast and the price very reasonable. I had a turn signal failure the first time and the 'check engine' light had been intermittently on the second time. They replaced a $40 electronic module for the turn signal problem. The computer diagnostics pinpointed a power steering pump pressure loss the second time. Total invoice was about $60 the first time and $114 the next. Communication in person and on the phone was superb. The location is very convenient for mid-town Tulsans. I would also add that they are very professional.

It's easy to get raked over the coals at the auto mechanics... but these guys are pretty honest. My wife and I both drive used cars, and when something breaks, we always go to them. We've tried other places that always try to stick us with a little extra, these guys don't.

That's not to say that things don't come up... but they always call us to let us know that they found another problem, and ask if we want to proceed. I really appriciate that.

But everything they've ever done was done right the first time... more than I can say about other places. They're honest, and their free estimates are usually within 10% of the final cost of the repair.
