My daughter just finished her first year at Holland Hall (second grade), and I am very pleased with the education she is receiving. The classes are small (20 students), and each classroom has a teacher and a teacher's aide. Each student is able to work very closely each day with their teacher. The teachers are very engaged and helpful, and I knew that I could always e-mail or call her teacher if I had any questions or concerns. My daughter had some slight difficulty with reading comprehension (even though she reads fast and can recognize and say words at the 6th grade level). Once the problem was identified, she immediately began working one-on-one with a reading specialist who has helped her with her comprehension. I am certain that the problem would have gone unnoticed at one of the local public schools. I was a little concerned at the beginning of the school year because my daughter was new, and I knew that most of the children have been attending HH for a while. But my daughter has made many friends and has had no problem fitting in. She loves her new school, and I have been very impressed with everything. I know she is receiving the best education possible in Tulsa.

We have been a current parent at HH for the last 15 years between our kids (all are "Lifers"). (Currently we have a middle-schooler) We are extremely happy with the overall experience and education our children have received. We're thankful for the community atmosphere and the direction and current leadership of the school. There is not another private school in the area that provides such a great well rounded education when it comes to academics and the arts and sports. Its also a great place for your student to learn time management, leadership skills, and how to take control of their own learning. This skill set is invaluable in college (as our oldest has proven).

I went to Holland Hall for 8 years and received the best education I could have imagined. The teachers were so welcoming and open-minded and I was always pushed to think creatively. I loved the arts programming there and I appreciate how strong the community is at Holland Hall.

Sending our children to Holland Hall has been one of the best decisions we've made. I have been amazed at how much the teachers care about the students, both their academic success as well as their social and emotional development. Small class sizes, rich academic programs and caring teachers are just a few of the reasons we are so pleased with our choice to join the Holland Hall community. We look at the expense as an investment in our children's future.

When our family moved from out of state into Tulsa, I visited several schools in the area, both public and private, as potential options for our children. If you will make the time to take a tour of Holland Hall, you will quickly come to the same conclusion that I reached. There is no other school in the area that compares. Yes, it is expensive but what greater gift can you provide for your children than that of an outstanding education. Holland Hall prepares your child not only for college but also for life after school. The talents of the faculty and staff to identify what your child needs and then to use approaches that fit the individual needs of your child are impressive. My kids LOVE school and are thriving at Holland Hall.

As a graduate of Holland Hall and now the parent of two HH students I feel uniquely qualified to review this outstanding school. I can say that my experience at Holland Hall prepared me for college and graduate school. I not only had the academic skills to succeed but perhaps even more importantly I knew how to study, how to manage and my time.
Before sending my children to Holland Hall, I toured several other schools just to get a sense for "what was put there." Absolutely no other school could compare to HH in terms of student-teacher ratio, exposure to the arts, amazing facilities and grounds, quality of teachers and academic excellence.
I know that by sending my children to HH, I am giving them the best education in the city. I would highly recommend this school!

Holland Hall has definitely listened to what colleges want when designing their curriculum. Colleges are accepting fewer AP credits every year because they want the tuition dollars. What they're looking for are kids that can think! There's a big difference between a college prep school and a school that makes their kids college eligible. Getting in is just the beginning, being able to succeed is an entirely different thing. But Holland Hall is about more than academics. Raising students to respect others is front and center of their character education. Arts and athletics round out the experience- one well worth the money.

There is no way that Holland Hall is among the top schools in the country. Those who believe so have not visited the private schools in the suburbs of Baltimore and Boston. Holland Hall is a great school for the right child. They are very good for the independent child who is self motivated. The campus is beautiful and the facilities are equally impressive. Forget finding all of those advanced placement courses or IB programs here. This is a school that focuses mainly on providing the basics and and making sure that your child will get the best preparation for the rigors of college. While almost all the graduates will go on to college, very few of the graduates go on to Ivy League colleges

Holland Hall fails tremendously when it comes to children with ADD/ADHD or children needing structure. That is not to say that these kids couldn't be successful elsewhere, but the kids need a different approach! The school pride themselves in being able to provide for these kids but they are seriously misguided in that belief! There are many parents who have had to pull their kids out because the school wouldn't make the appropriate effort to teach these kids. Nothing has disappointed me more than this!

Holland Hall is undeniably the greatest school in the region -- and among the best in the nation. Striving for excellence in Academics, the Arts, and Athletics, Holland Hall successfully creates an environment that invites students who excel in any of these three categories. The schedule is a huge plus, as it allows much needed time for accomplishing homework, and receiving help from teachers. Teachers and students interact loosely with each other making great relationships. There is a huge workload, and stress is not uncommon, but the college prep received is incredible. It is not the right school for everyone, but for the right students, Holland Hall is an incredible place.

Some positives: schedule allows downtime between classes, beautiful campus, helpful teachers, seniors can leave campus when not in class, good preparation for college in terms of work.
Some negatives: lack of diversity in the mainly sheltered and upper class student body, the current principal is rude in dealing with students, very demanding workload, not as wide a range of course options as found in larger public institutions, limited extracurricular choices, and the problem of gossip attributed to the school??s small size. It spreads very quickly, teachers are involved in students?? personal lives sometimes to the extent of nosiness and gossip about the students just as badly, if not worse, than the students themselves. This can lead some students to feel as though under constant surveillance.
Holland Hall is decent overall, but it??s not for everyone. If you want to ??blend in? or want the typical high school experience, look elsewhere.

As a graduate of Holland Hall, I can tell you all the statistics... something like 99 percent of all graduates go on to complete college, it's one of the best private schools in the country (top 20), etc.

And it's absolutely fantastic. Your kids are going to learn a bunch. But be prepared for the "rich kid" atmosphere... there's tremendous social pressure to wear the right socks, the right shoes, etc. Even though everyone wears uniforms, the kids find a way to find out who's rich and who isn't.

At $12,000 a year, it's certainally the best school, but depending on your house finances, may not be the best school for the money. If you have a kid in K-8, Trinity is about 1/4th the cost and is a excelent school. Or other cheaper options are Victory and Bishop Kelly.

But if you want the absolute best, Holland Hall is probably it.
