Ratings_icons An Up-To-Date and Genuinely Considerate Dentist

Shayla R.

I've gone to Yeary for several years, for both myself, my children, and my husband.

I enjoy his modern approach to dentistry. For instance, I like that he uses digital x-rays which are known to be much safer than traditional machines. His practice is also mercury-free, showing him to be up-to-date with the latest scientific studies and also VERY considerate of patient and staff safety.

Having been fired from other dentists for refusing x-rays on my young children, I was pleased to find that Dr. Yeary shared my belief that children don't need x-rays until they are at least 6 or 7, except in cases where examination of the mouth shows problems that need further investigation. This shows that he is NOT just about money, as he makes good money on those x-rays.

One other thing that, to me, speaks of Dr. Yeary's knowledge and concern for safety, is that I was refused a cleaning while I was in my first trimester of pregnancy. He refused not just the x-rays, but the cleaning itself. Studies show that during cleanings, bacteria from the gums can be introduced to the bloodstream, and can potentially damage the fetus. Dr. Yeary could have made a quick buck from my insurance company and done the cleaning, and even the x-rays with a lead apron, but he explained why he wasn't comfortable with that, and I left his office feeling like he genuinely cared.

It hasn't been all fun and games with Dr. Yeary, though. I had a complication with a crown, but everything was taken care of to my satisfaction (he worked way past hours to get everything right).

Obviously, I highly recommend him.

I went to this doctor for a crown a few years ago. It ended up costing me a lot of money to redo it at another dentist's. The original crown was too big, poorly fitted and I found out it had become infected underneath. Dr Yeary and his staff were fast but careless, the procedures were painful. If I hadn't been going to dentists for 20 years, I probably would have stopped after this experience. I don't know who reads these reviews but I would recommend staying away from his practice if you care about your teeth.

Dr Yeary and his crew is mean and insincere with their care for patients. They are snobby and rob you blind to pay for their high class televsion sets while they abuse you in the chair. Dr Yeary drives an expensive sedan that he calls a sports car! LOL! Dear Lord! Get a clue! The customers will determine your fate!

Ratings_icons Excellent Dentist

Had I had a Dentist like Dr Yeary as a kid I probably wouldnt be seeing a dentist now . He's fast, because the staff is efficient and organized : You dont wait in the waiting room for an hour "dreading the moment ' . He's quick and effecient because he seems competent and knowledgable . Dentistry can be expensive but since I had no insurance and paid cash they worked with me and even gave a discount . The equipment for xrays seem "state of the art" . I would recommend this dentist for all ages ,young and old alike . Thanks Kevin

I took my son to Dr Yeary since he took my foster son's insurance and my regular dentist did not. I was not expecting good service, but was pleasantly surprised. Our wait time was small, which is indicative of professional consideration for the patient's time. I went in with my son. The assistant was informative and kind to an anxious 10 year old and an inquisitive mother. The doctor let me know everything that was going on and was patient to answer all my questions. It seems to me that the review by Chris D. show several things: Chris is using this forum to rant rather than review a particular service provider, he doesn't realize that while OK is a red state, Norman is definitely a blue city through and through and he only discredits himself my his remarks. Read and judge for yourself.

Ratings_icons Be Leery of Yeary

Chris D.

I paid a visit to this dentist, and requested only a filing of a chipped tooth, and a general cleaning. Although Dr. Yeary seems to know his profession, I wound up leaving his office with a bill for over $1600. To them, it seems to be just routine, but my request for specific services was obviously just ignored in order to make way for his profiting routine.

I am not a native to Oklahoma, which I think gives me a little clarity on the following observation; This area is overwhelmed with red-state bigotry. I find that many of the so-called professionals around here, particularly medical, have their minds already made up about what they think is right, despite any facts that come along to prove them wrong.

There's a big problem with this in the medical community in the 24th street area of Norman. For instance, I once developed back pain at a very bad time .. the friday before a holiday weekend .. however, I could not find a single doctor that wasn't already convinced I was just out drug seeking for the weekend. Needless to say, I could not find help .. what's more, I was harassed with blood testing by several failed attempts to take blood, including resorting to the back of my hand ..

All of you Norman area bigots need to grow up .. believe it or not, there is actually a world outside of your own heads ..

Ratings_icons Fast but...

If you want to get out the clinic quickly, this is a good place to go. But I do not enjoy the fast service here. The dentist does not spend much time with each patient, and the clinic takes too many patients. Fast is always good when you go to see a doctor, but not when you are given fast service.
