My oldest child has been going to HIG for the last 4 1/2 years and has loved every minute. My youngest has been going for 3 years now and loves it also.
They have recently promoted a wonderful teacher to the director's position. She's an awesome Christian lady and has met any questions or concerns I've ever had with open ears and an open heart and got them resolved immediately.
98% of the teachers are awesome. i have encountered a few that just don't seem to care AS MUCH about beig there, but I have always felt that my children are safe and cared for at the facility. My children really bond with their teachers and vice versa.
The curriculum, I believe, is top-notch. My kiddos have learned SOO much!! Not only are they learning the typical school curiculum, but also God's word. The sweetest thing was when my 3 yr old recited some bible verses to me!
My oldest is in the kindergarten class (where there are only 6 children!!!) and has learned so much from his awesome, loving teacher. He literally RUNS down the hall every single morining toward his class because he is so excited.
This facility is in the process of making awesome improvements, #1, safety. All doors, outside and inside have codes. The main door to the building has a code only for parents/care takers, and their are codes for the upstairs doors. Basically no one can get in unless they have business to be there. I love the security.
The halls and rooms are brightly decorated so that children aren't just starring at blank walls. It makes the place feel more warm and friendly.
The facility is always very clean and does not have that daycare bleech smell.
The few downsides are that the playground area is super small and covered with playground rocks (kids get extra dirty from them - but everything washes out or wipes off). The playground is below street level and surrounded by brick wall, so no worry for lurkers. Its just really small, but plenty of room for little ones to run and play. They do however, have a huge gym for when the weather is bad.
Also, i haven't been real pleased with the lunches. It's pretty much the same thing, repeating every two weeks. Kind of boring and some of the meals (salsbury steak) my kids won't eat. And snack time is almost always the same and very boring, muffins, crackers and cheese, or french toast in the am... crackers and cheese or cookies in the pm. I wish they'd provide fruit or yogurt cups or just something else.
I used to have a problem with too many new teachers and not knowing who the teacher would be or when, but it seems to have gotten a lot better over the last year or so. They now have one lead teacher that is there 7-3 and then afternoon teachers that can vary, but on a more consistant basis. So I know who is there on which afternoons.

The only reason I give this place 4 stars is that 5 stars says "world class" and well... I wouldn't say its "world class" just due to the downsides I've listed.
I would (and HAVE) recommened this center.

My oldest child attended this facility for almost 4 years, and my middle child for over 3 1/2 years. We stayed because of the convenience of location to our jobs and because the curriculum really met my oldest child's learning desires. However, the facility has poor management, is usually out of teacher-student classroom ratio, and is under monitoring by DHS due to facility issues. I will praise most of the teachers there, as my kids always seemed happy with a few of them. However, the facility is also letting go some of the best teachers due to their poor managerial skills.

This a place where the people truly love children and want to do what is best for them. If your child must go into a childcare facility, this is the one you want. They will be happy and learn a lot.
