Ami African Hair Braiding

I made an appointment for a Monday to have micros. She first told me to come in at 11am then she changed it to 9am. She called me the night before to make sure I was going to keep my appointment. I ended up going home because she never arrived at the shop Monday morning. I called her at home to see what happen to our appointment to finally reach her at the salon. So I did not get my hair braided until 1030am, with no apologies. I was told to come back on Wednesday to have the rest of my hair braided because she was going to take her son to school and I had to handle some things myself because of my schedule. Arriving for my hair appointment on Wednesday she was a NO SHOW AGAIN. When I called her I was told she was sleep and sick while I was waiting in the rain with half my hair braided. I ask her partner to finish my hair and she said she wouldn't and maybe the original woman would finish my hair the next day (convenient 1 day sickness). I live in Moore and this shop is at least 30 minutes away from my home. So I'm furious at their carelessness and disregard to others schedule and needs. When I called on Wednesday I ask why no one called me and I was told they tried three times but the number was "no good" If my number was no good how was I able to call them at home using my caller id? Liars!!!!!!!!!! I called today (THURSDAY) and still no one can do my hair. Shes sick and her partner says she has other clients and will not move anything around to finish my hair. WTF!!!!!!!!! My hair is still not done and its THURSDAY.
Please STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Its the worst business I have ever been too, rude irresponsible, and also ignorant. (The woman told me I had nappy hair???) . They should be shut DOWN

They braid ok but the braids are bigger in the middle thats how they braid everyones hair bigger in the middle. if thats what you want this is were you need to go.

I've been to this salon twice and there were 3 African women working/braiding. They were really standoffish and complained at the amount of time it took to do my hair both times. I have really thick hair BUT in business, etiquette is a must, a few of my family members went there and said they were rude to them also (they have much less hair than I do) But they wanted their braids bad enough to deal with the attitudes. I WAS going to Georgette, and her sister for about a year, I would get my hair re-done about every two months, I would always call a week ahead of time to make my appt, I got to my appt which was at 10:30 March , 2009, she had four other ladies that she had over booked.
She would braid my hair and others, and in the top and back the braids would be big, I was getting Micros.
If you called they will tell you one price, once you get there they would charged a different price, Georgette quoted me a price of 130.00 I get there she tells me it will be 180.00 I was tired of putting up with their mess so I stopped going to them, BECAUSE that is not the way you conduct business.

They are expensive at this shop as compared to others. I had 4:30 appt. and was not seen until 7pm. This was very unprofessional, not to mention I drove from out of town to get my hair braided. While getting my hair braided, I asked to get the same size of braids all the way around my head because that's what I paid for - regardless of her mistake in time (I was paying $ 180). Needless to say that after I finished, my braids were larger in the back ( so I ended up with the $130-140 braid style). I was not happy with this facility because If she only had time to do the cheaper hair style, I would have preferred her to tell me that versus taking my money and not doing the job I paid for. People there were friendly and they do talk their language which is annoying and disrespectful at times. I was pleased with the actual braiding but not with the size I had. Not sure if I would recommend someone here or not. I guess that alone is enough.

I have been going to AMI for years now & it is always a pleasant experience. They are a very nice family owned business. I think it is reasonably priced fro what you get. Beautiful braids, that last a long time within about 4 hours. (I got there @ 4:30 and was on my way home my 8:00) if you are tender headed then they are not for you. I highly recommend them to anyone that has the time & money to spend, definately will get your moneys worth.

They are expensive here and my braids were a little tight but i managed to deal with it, they did begin to loosen up after a couple of days. I have went to them three times and have not had any problems, in fact when some of my briads came down in the back i called them up and went in and she fixed the problem. I would recommend them to others that want their micro's done professionally.

I paid over $130.00 for micro braids they talked about me from the time i came in to the time I left. They got tired of braiding my hair and in the middle the braids were thick. I could not wear my hair down. Also I asked them not to braid my baby hair in and they did causing my hair to fall out along the edges. When I called them back they said put a hot towel on my head to loosen the braids up that did not work. They are very rude speaking in there language and you know they are talking about you. I wish there was someone in Oklahoma that could braid hair well and not charge a arm and a leg to do it.

This place is very expensive and you dont get what you ask for. My hair was braided so tight i was literally sick afterwards my scalp also bled. i had a headace for 2 days. i specifically asked them not to braid my hair tight. After I took the braids down my hair came out with them from where it was pulled so tight. i will never go back. I also need to mention I paid 65 dollars for that hair style
