Ratings_icons All American Fitness Ctr is deceptive

Received a coupon in Valpak from All American for "Last Chance to Join for Only $99 a Year" Sounded Great!! When I went down to sign up, the Manager said that I had to pay a $59 enrollment fee, some other fee, and had to join for at least three years (all payable up front, of course). This all added up to just short of $500. Of course none of this is listed on the coupon, no asterisk, no fine print. I am a Purchasing Agent, so I know how offers of service and contracts work. I insisted over and over for about thirty minutes that he honor his advertisement and that I be allowed to write him a $99.00 dollar check and become a member for one year. He gave me some 800 number to talk to some supervisor who, when I called told me some other district supervisor would call. When he called, same story, no flexibility, obviously I didn't understand the ad (How could I understand $99 a year?). Don't believe these ads. "Only" doesn't mean that's the "only" amount they'll try to stick you for. "A Year" doesn't mean one year. Better yet, stay far away from this place.

Ratings_icons very frustrating

I joined the gym after moving here from another state, prices were high for what the gym was but I joined. The first 4 months it was wonderful. No problems. i then got told I was delinquent on my equipment fee ($29) it was not that the money was not there, it was the way I was informed. When I called the financial people to try and understand I was told basically I was out of luck and no one had my correct payment down. They had been withdrawing it from my account for several months but could not figure it out. I don't have a desire to be part of a gym that does not have the ability to know their financials and is not cooperative in figuring things out with me.

My husband and I joined the gym in 2005 and I never really went. I was in on a saturday morning and the manager Nick came over to me and asked what my goals were. No one has ever really asked and after a long discussion I decided to hire a trainer. Since then I've lost over 30 lbs and I'm feeling great. The staff was so nice and I'm saving more money to hire a trainer again!

Sorry to be on a different track than everyone else but we joined All American about 7 years ago. Got a special life time membership with low annual maintenance fees. Everything is just as it was stated in the contract 7 years ago, the equipment is in good shape, there's lots of variety, yoga and other classes are free with our membership, the place is clean and the new extended hours are great. We have no complaints.

Ratings_icons Management is Rude, Cruel, and Groossem

I originally called about aerobic classes and I was quoted a reasonable price. I went in to meet with the infamous Nick Jones-aka, my poop don't stink Jones, only to be informed of the many hidden cost that come with the aerobics class. Even with the rude and eerie feeling of the employees and the gym, against my better judgement I sat down to discuss membership options, I thought maybe I was just having a bad day and I was being hormonal, so in the end at 6p.m. I joined the club, with a slight smile and a nag in my gut. I returned on the next morning at 9a.m. to cancel my membership after having to now wait because it is obvious why I am there, the service was even worse. I asked Nick Jones if the check I had written the day before had been deposited yet 3 times, his response was that it and the other post dated checks I had written was going to be sent back to me in 30 days- are U sure?- yes. I was informed that I was making a big mistake, I couldn't loose weight by myself and would probably be back. Why was my initial check cashed 4 days later throwing my account off- because I voided my check, going about my business, trusting the devil had told the truth. I called to inquire about this and Steve says that Nick misinformed me. Then it occurred to me that Nick , the manager, misinformed me because he was mad that I cancelled my membership, and that explains why he spoke so rudely to me when he told me I couldn't do it by my self. I was also in a since given the commitment issue speech that Donna S. was given. Guess what? I will not be back and I will tell everyone I know about this facility and the way that All American Fitness does business. I will also pass on the other stories I have read.

Ratings_icons People Skills Needed!

The management at all american fitness are extremely rude. I didn't even get to my first appointment to set up my contract. i was running slightly late and i didn't get there at exactly 6 o'clock, the manager called my cell phone and left me a message that said " Donna this is Nick the manager at all american fitness and we had an appointment at 6 tonight, now I'm starting to get an idea about your dedication problem". So i turned around and went home. I have also joined another gym where the staff AND management are extremely nice and helpful.

Ratings_icons a nightmare

we have had a membership at this location for years. The staff is down right rude!! While tanning the machine shocked me. I told the staff and was laughed at. They have a childcare center and i was told when they signed up my son could go there while I worked out. I tried to to drop him off one morning and was told they donot take children like him. He is blind and autistic. I will never work out at this place! never. we pay or I should say throw away 60.00 a month . We have been asked to be let out of our contract because the childcare center refuses to watch our son. We was told tough luck! Even though before we signed the contract we was told dallas could go to the center. I dont recommand to anyone
