I have been a customer of FBF for 25+ years. Granted, when Fred ran it as a one man store, everything was great. But, with progress comes problems. Remember that the sales people are on commission, so talking to tire kickers pays them nothing. If all they have talked to for three days are lookers and not buyers, it is understandable they could be a little testy. I try to do as much research online as possible before I go into the store to actually handle the gun. My big issue is always trigger pull poundage and you cannot do enough research to know the true feel of the trigger. So, cut the sales folks a little slack, tell them they are doing a great job and see if your experiences get better. As to ordering guns, the dealer is at the mercy of the suppliers. The dealer gets guns when the supplier decides to send them. Customers are at the bottom end of that food chain. It was like buying a Harley Davidson a few years ago. Give the dealer and deposit and wait a year or so. I know it is frustrating, but patience needs to be applied. If you have a lot of money to spend, go to H&H and see if they have it in stock.

First off you should get one star for just being in buisness but Outdoor America does not even deserve a whole star. I had to special order a weapon was approx. five days for delivery. Now three weeks later I get a call and they said gun was on it's way we just now ordered it. When I had called twice each week I was told it was on the way so now how could it have been on it's way it they did even order it when I paid for it. As for the owner just because you own a gun shop does not make you special. I have heard that eating lead paint as a kid causes decreased intelligence it is evident he has ate more than his share.

This store is ate up like a soup and sandwich. First of all you walk in and the guy running the cash register in the island, stares at you like he is saying in his head please give me a reason to shoot you or wants a homosexual date. I believe the later. Next I waited for the burnouts from when muskets were sold to help me. Everything was cool until after the money was given. I put the gun on layaway. After a few weeks. I go to pickup the gun. I go to the back counter with the ladies. I say I'm here to pickup my gun from layaway. You must go to your sales person that helped you originally to start the paperwork. Duuuuhhh, couldn't this paperwork have been started two weeks ago. After my sales guy helps another he helps me after someone tells him that was your customer. No problem. Paperwork completedthen we go back to the counter with the ladies. Guy says he is getting his gun out of layaway. Lady says was the call made. He says call wasn't made. They have to make a call to do a background check. Once again, duuhhhh, couldn't we have done this within the two weeks? Still waiting on background check, I had to leave to go back to work. This place suffers from the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing syndrome. They trust these people with guns.

When I've gone to Fred Baker's Outdoor America I usually have a hard time getting any help. When I do it's with an attitude. Not much help. I've been in law enforcement for over 20 years and you would think a brother could get a little respect from them. Big selection of guns but not of specialty "duty" ammunition. I go elsewhere. Big Boys in Wheatland is much friendlier and helpful.

I had not been to Outdoor America in sometime but went today and was amazed! I pulled up and would have sworn they were out of business. Everything about the place looked bad. I walked in and there were few employees, darkly lit areas and ZERO customers. I asked for a very popular gun and was told they were out. The place looked abandoned and appeared like the fire sale was about to begin. Just my opinion.
