I am going on my fourth year here of working out and have hated every second of it! The only reason I am still here is because there is no other gym close enough to me. I have never been a fan of this place and especially its employees but just when I think it cant get any worse, it does and has! In the four years I have been there they have had maybe 3 employees that were educatd and nice and of course they were not there very long..This is a gym where you have to walk through the employees smoking out front just to get in the door and be cause I am there in the mornings alot, I get to see them eat their Mcdonalds and Braums breakfasts. Even though I am not a fan of this I can overlook that. My reason for my writing this is the employees are terrible. They do not say hello, they do not say goodbye and better yet the whole time Im working out they are looking at me like they dont understand what Im doing there. I could go on forever but just let it be said to anyone reading this that if your considering this place...take the advice I have given my friends and go somewhere else if you can. I would never tell someone to go here:(

I do see what people are aying i have been going there for a year now for spray tans. Not all the girls are rude, but yes some are just young and not as friendly as they should be. Its a decent place to tan or work out as far as contracts go, you just have to expect with any contract after you sign they dont even though they should give the best costomer service because they already locked you down. My advise is dont sign anything without carefully reading it. As far as hounded to buy things, they get commission so their going to offer you things just say no if not interested....firmly. Look I just go to tan and leave I dont say much when I'm there and I pay my bill on time and I've had no real big issues with them. However, I was aggrevated that the two months they were closed I still had to pay even though I wasent able to use the facilities, but thats a contract deal for ya. : )

Stay away. This company lied and coerced my son into signing a one year contract while in high school and he though he was paying for 1-2 tanning sessions. They also altered the agreement. I do not recommend ANYONE at all to go to the Broken Arrow store. The store manager NICOLE at the BA store told me after i have been taking my daughter with me for 8 months to go tanning that she needed to go to childcare. Nicole didn't ask how old my child was. She told me that NO ONE under the age of 16 is not suppose to be left unattended while tanning. So she tried to get me to pay $3.00 for ten mins to put my daughter in childcare while i was tanning. Not like i have spent enough at this place already. So i left not very happy and went home to look at my contract. My contrace states " I understand that At the beach insurance will not allow them to have unattended children UNDER THE AGE OF 12 waiting in the lobby. I understand that well behaved children 12 and older are welcome to wait while i tan". Instead of her asking how old she was Nicole was being DISHONEST by lying and saying that NO ONE under the age of 16 was allowed to sit out here when my contract says different. So i called and nicole said she didnt look 12. Like that would have even mattered. My daughter is a very well behaved child and she respects everyone and does what she is told. Everytime i go tanning and she is with me i always make her bring something with her to do. So she sits for 10 to 12 mins on the bench and reads a book, colors or plays games on her DS.I dont think that this place is a very loyal and trustworthy place. If you are wanting to tan somewhere DONT GO HERE!! They do nothing but rip people off. They are money hungry people. If you do have a conract with At the beach the best one to go to is the one at 51st and Harvard. Kylie and her staff will take GREAT care of you. They are very honest and trustworthy at that store. I will not attend the broken arrow store. They are nothing but a bunch of STUCK UP BIMBO WHITE TRASH MONEY HUNGRY BITCHES!!! If you go there then they will get commission off anything you buy so i suggest you go elsewhere. NICOLE is the worst out of all of them. She just wants your money!!! I just cancelled my contract after the full 36 months and will not go back. Every time I went in to tan, the girls at the desk tried to push their newest lotion "sale" on me. I don't call paying 60.00 for a bottle of lotion a sale, but that's beside the point. They were rude, sometimes not even speaking to me except to tell me what room I was in, and when they asked for my goggles sometimes they had this tone like they just knew that I didn't have them (I always did). I was always harassed because I didn't have a gym membership (I'm allergic to exercise, haha). On the plus side, though, when I called the corporate office to cancel (I couldn't get my local Broken Arrow, OK branch to answer the phone for two days), the lady was very nice and send me my form to fill out immediately. I can understand everyones concern over the financial issues and over the wait at the counter at times. Regarding the financial obligations, it is sometimes hard to keep the monthly, recurring expenses down when they have been so well trained to upgrade your membership and sell products. They ARE salespeople, so be sure you are not in a weak mood when you go in, because you might decide to upgrade and then later regret when you realize that in so doing you signed yourself up for an even longer obligation. At one time, I wanted to downgrade my membership back to just fitness, because their newly improved spray tanning machine, Versaspa still wasn't exactly great for me and my very fair skin...definitely a huge improvement over the Mystic UV free taninng system; no more orangish skin, but still comes of way too easy and requires a lot of maintenance. I was more than willing to sign a new contract with fitness only for more time, but after having to go through the corporate hoops to get an answer, I was told that I could not and was encouraged to try one of the UV taning beds that was designed for fair skin. I am a big supporter of spray tans and not of regular tanning beds and sunning in general due to concerns about skin cancer, but there again, they try very hard to convince you that the bed they have designed for very, fair skinned people is NOT going to burn you and that it automatically reduces the radiation based on your skin tone. I even looked at the product website for the Sun Angel and felt convinced that this may work to help me "prepare" my skin for the Carribean Sun by using very low levels that would keep me from burning on my upcoming vacation. I used the machine as recommended and for only 5 minutes at that. I still was burned and the young, high school girls that were working that night were surprised I got burnt. Again, I let corporate know my problem and was told I STILL couldn't downgrade my contact. So, this has been a thorn in my side and I certainly WILL NOT renew with them. As far as wait times at the counter, I too have had to wait much longer than I would prefer due to their checking in system. I feel that if they are helping a client that needs more than five minutes of attention at the counter, they should politely excuse themselves from that conversation/contract upgrade/question time and check in the valued customers that just need to get on with their workout, class or tanning. However, to give them some positive feedback, I do feel the atmosphere is clean, comfortable and upbeat. I wouldn't mind showers at this location to help someone that wants to workout, shower and go straight to work. I give this location 3 stars (probably really 2 1/2, but I can't mark it that way).

Okay...I just want to say that none of these other reviews are correct at all. I have been a member of At The Beach for 5 years now and have never ever had a problem with them. The girls are always very nice...they get busy...deal with it if you don't think they're being nice enough. And obviously read any contract before you sign it. Then you'll KNOW what you're signing. It is very clean, upbeat, and fun. Definitely not overpriced. They have awesome hours. And very fun work out classes. I recommend them to everyone!!!

I am a 16 year old girl who tans here and I can even see how horrible the serivice is. Everytime I go in there I feel like I'm being judged by some snobby chick at my High School. The staff is soo rude and although it may be a clean facility, their beds aren't anything to brag about.

My daughter (a minor) wanted to tan for one month prior to her prom. I signed her up for a special 30 package $27.20 back on March 19,2009. On Apr 17, we both went in the store to cancel the "contract". Which what we were instructed to do back in March when I asked about just paying the 1 month's fee. Nope, had to put it on a card or bank draft as a re-occuring charge. This is the second daughter I have take there and I should have learned the first time. Well, 60 days has passed and I stilled haven't seen my credit. I called the store to ask, they can't help me, I need to call corporate office. I call the 866 # and the greeting from Troy Dugger CSR says if call is about cancellations or refunds to call the billing dep at a 800#. It's not their billing dept, is the AAC finance company. They tell me at first the have no record of me or my daughter. Then they come up my daughter's name but the contract had been cancelled by ATB corp and a refund would be processed by ATB not AAC because they didn't have the funds. I have left a message with the Duggar women and wonder how long or if she returns my call.

At the Beach sucks people in by offering a very low rate advertised in their window. What they don't tell you when they are showing off the beds is that they are going to bombard you with sales pitches every visit to either upgrade your package or sell you tanning lotions. If you do buy a product they sell you level 2, then next time you come in they tell you that is not the correct level of product to start you out. The worst part about it is that if you forget your goggles they are going to use it as an opportunity to take advantage of not only your intelligence but also your wallet. They sell you the goggles you already own for $5 a piece. If you buy a product from them it goes in the notes that pop up every time you tan. Then they continue to pressure you every time you come in. The place is extremely low class. Every time you go in there is different staff. They do not have a good system to check you in so you may stand there for up to twenty minutes. Then they make sure you have to prove you have your goggles with you...because they care so much about your eyes...not the $5 they rob you of on top of your monthly fees. I could have gotten so much better a deal at other places who don't revert to such low class gimmicks. Please do yourself a favor and go to a place with class.

Then they make sure you have to prove you have your goggles with you...because they care so much about your eyes...not the $5 they rob you of on top of your monthly fees. I could have gotten so much better a deal at other places who don't revert to such low class gimmicks. Please do yourself a favor and go to a place with class.

Facilities are clean but they do not know how to treat customers. Very rude, employees at front desk does not know what they are doing. I went there for a year and they do not fix thing that break. They could have a good thing going if they had better customer service. Find other place to go would be your best bet....

90% of the employees there are very unfriendly and provide terrible customer service. They also interrogate you for your eye wear, which i always have. The girl with the red streaks in her hair is probably the rudest. i stood in line for 10 minutes because they only had one computer working, then when i was leaving, she was on the phone and eating, looked straight at me, then continued with her conversation. even after her assistant called her over to help look up when my contract ended, she ignored her as well. I will never have a contract with at the beach again.

So I thought I had set up a 1 year contract . . . however not so much 3 YEARS! Then after I had tried to call to cancel they wouldn't let me and then over a year of paying $27.07 this month they charged me $32.25! over $5 charge for NO reason!

This place has so many hidden fees and dishonest workers! I got charged $33 for 1 tan! They try to trick you into signing all this paperwork that they never explain to you what it is. One employee in particular, Glenda, is like the tan Nazi! I was just wanting to set up a months tanning and she went off talking a mile a minute and showing us all this equipment and package "deals". She never mentioned the packages that were less expensive and tried to fool us into signing a 2 year contract! I have complained to the manager, Michelle, to no avail..she just referred me to the corporate office, who still hasn't called me back. Bad Place, Sneaky Maneuvers, and JUST PLAIN WRONG!!!!

I fell in love with At the Beach. They have super clean facilities, lots of space and a staff that treats you like a queen. I was impressed with their hours and never have a hard time getting an appointment.
