My honest Review. No pool company is perfect. I also had a Pleasant Pool installed last late summer/ Fall of 2011. It's Beautiful!! I am Very Happy with the final product and we are enjoying our swim. Cracking in deck was my issue also. In fairness. The pour occurred in the hotttest time. There was no expansion joint put at one skimmer, so.... cracks happened. The other skimmer has a severe crack that routed around the expansion joint. Yes, concrete cracks. Although it cracked within two weeks of the pour. I wanted a base of crushed limestone instead of sand.(Never had concrete crack on limestone base.) They don't use it. They have said they will fix the cracks sometime. I believe them. You should supervise installation yourself if you have time. Pleasant pools has never done me wrong. May take awhile, but they will help you. If it is urgent, they will also respond. I have known this company since 97. They helped me Greatly when I lived at another location with the painful Blue Haven pool I had put in. Stay away from BH. Anyway, all said and done, they perform above and beyond. Pleasant did a GREAT job and they continue to assist if I have problems. Constructive Criticism:1. To save customer crack complaints in the future, use crushed limestone base on deck. 2. Better supervision. The entire Staff is Fantastic!! I HIGHLY recommend Pleasant Pools.

The hail in May of 2010 ripped holes through our pool's tracking & tile system and throughout the liner. We called dozens of pool companies before calling Pleasant Pools. The typical response was ""we didn't install the pool, so will not work on it""; or ""we don't have the crew""; or ""we don""t carry or know where to find the tracking system""; or ""Mr. X"" is the man for tracking work""; We called Mr. X and he affirmed he was the one for tracking. But, he was a no-show on three appointments in a row.

Alas, we went through a local referral service and was directed to Howard Fleming, co-owner of Pleasant Pools. He called us immediately; promptly set an appointment at our home; he and his brother accepted the challenge of locating the tracking system without hesitation. (They found it in Pennsylvania!). What diligence! What service.

I have had every call, text or email responded to whether by Howard or a staff member - the same day. All questions have been answered. All options presented and thoroughly explored with me.

Between the two brothers who own Pleasant Pools, there is probably 60 years combined experience. I knew I was in good hands throughout the several months I worked with them on the pool repairs. You will not be disappointed.

Bought a pool with Pleasant Pools in 2005. Spent the first two years trying to get the pool to work right with little to no response from them. Finally paid someone else $300 to replace one of the pool motors. When we discovered Pleasant Pools had made the angles of the steps to sharp for their polaris cleaner, paid another $400 for an upgraded polaris. Last year, after a few years of watching the concrete deck sink, paid someone else $2900 to replace the deck and discovered it had sank because Pleasant Pools had buried construction waste under our deck, which once it decomposed caused the deck to sink. The pool plaster has been cracking and eroding for a few years. This year, 2011, only 6 years after pool install, the pool has become unusable, unless you??re okay with cutting your feet and ripping your swim suit. We again had to contract out to someone else for repairs, and it is costing us another $6000 to replace the plaster.
I did check the BBB, references and web posting before I initially hired Pleasant Pools. At time there were no other postings for (un) Pleasant Pools. Please if you have a negative experience with a business, post it. For those of you that have posted, thank you.

Never seen such lousy pool service on a product. Salesman promises the moon, but never comes thru. I've been waiting 16 months for a pool cover that keeps getting lost in the shipment. Will I ever see this mystery cover? The company can either pay me $1200 or install my cover. C'mon this is getting ridiculous!!!

My wife & I just had a concrete pool installed by Pleasant Pools. Everyone we dealt with, from the owners to the laborers, really were PLEASANT! We had several companies come out and give us estimates on the pool, and in the end we went with Pleasant Pools because they are not a fly-by-night operation. They've been around for over 30 years, and we thought that they could not have lasted so long by performing bad work. Our expectations were high, and they were exceeded. I definitely recommend Pleasant Pools to anyone who wants a new pool.

Pleasant Pools & Spas could not have a name that is less descriptive of the service and treatment you will receive! We had a pool built last year. The pool is beautiful, but the problems incurred during the installation were incredible. There were long delays, no communication, mis-communication and lack of follow up. The workers were not supervised or managed and we ended up doing a good portion of the supervision. It was good that we could be home during construction or I'm not sure what would have happened. We received very little instruction on pool operation, pool opening and pool closing. They failed to return phone calls and when they did return them, they were nasty and this included the two owners. I would strongly discourgae anyone from using their services. If you do use them and they promise anything outside the written contact - get it in writing becasue they will not honor any of their oral agreements.

Careful of the misleading name....they are NOT a pool supply company. They only deal in repairs and installation of parts they sell. They refuse to sell supplies if they do not get paid to install them. Tried to buy a pump from them and I would not be allowed to install this myself. It was a replacement - easy job.

I bought a swimming pool from this company in 2000. Admittedly, I got "pool fever" and chose this company without thoroughly researching my options. The pool actually turned out to be beautiful. However, we had trouble with them promising to show up and then not calling when they were not going to come. Later, when we thought that they had not done a good job with our decking, it was difficult to get someone to answer our calls, and in the end the owner of the company told us that he would not repair the cracking. We were not satisfied with what we got for $25,000. I now refer to this company as Unpleasant Pools.

Business Response:

Concrete Cracks We pride ourselves on building an great pool and providing great service to our customers. We have no control over concrete and when and why or how it cracks. We put in expansion joints, a sand base and steel. Yet the concrete still cracks. Because this is an Anonymous review there is no way to help this person out with there problem.
