I have been working out at Boyers since they opened. I have been encouraged by friends to move to newer facilities; however, the advantages at Boyers far outweigh many of the newer centers. The staff at Boyers are extremely friendly and helpful.
It is not a crowed atmosphere and you never feel out of place or pushed to hurry your workout. I have never been pushed to use a personal trainer!! If you enjoy a good workout at a leisurely pace with a staff that is always willing to assist you then Boyers is the place for you. I HIGHLY recommend this fitness center.

If you want to work out where all the people are there to be seen, or socialize, this is not the place for you. If you want clean equipment, a fast workout and a friendly staff...sign up. I'm not sure if the poster who gave this gym a bad review has ever worked out before, but if you were unhappy at Boyer's you pretty much will be dissatisfied with any other gyms. First off, yes, hiring a trainer is expensive, but it is also worth it. If you are really serious about getting into good shape. The reason you hire a trainer is to learn about all those "proper techniques" and then branch out on your own as you grow more comfortable. Asking for free advice from a trainer is like asking for free medical advice from a doctor. Bad form. I've been working out at Boyer's for years. The owner is very friendly and helpful when you do ask his advice. The staff is always highly professional and keeps the gym in tip top shape. Even though I moved out of Norman, I still go there to work out.

Boyer's fitness was a mistake that I have learned from. The staff isn't unfriendly, but they are less than helpful. I asked one of the staff members if I was using the correct technique while using a weight lifting machine and he said he would be happy to help me if I used him as a personal trainer. That's an extra $20.00/hour!

The gym is open from 6am to 8pm during the week. On Saturday you can enter the gym from 6am to Noon. On Sunday from Noon until 5pm. This means that you have to work your schedule around when they are open on the weekends.

Also, when you do decide to quit you have to give 31 days notice by mail. This may not sound like a big deal until you realize that there is no way to avoid getting charged for another month of membership that you probably don't want to use! It is inexcusable.

I have learned much from my time at Boyer's (mostly involving what to be sure to check on before I join a gym). I cannot recommend to anyone unless they are fond of wasting money.

I hate it when I spend a lot of money on a fitness club membership and then they are only open limited hours, which make it difficult for people that work a lot. Boyer's Fitness Center has great hours, open during the day and evening. They have an awesome setup, with all the newest equipment available. You can tell that it is very well taken care of. One thing that's great about this place, as well, is that they are constantly cleaning the equipment. I think that is a very important factor to consider when choosing a fitness center. I think the best thing about Boyer's is their personalized trainers. They automatically assign one with your membership, you don't have to pay tons extra for individualized fitness plans. They will really work with you, and encourage you to stick with the plan that works best for you. They are also knowledgeable about injuries, and which routines would be safe for you, for example, with a back injury. I have found that very helpful.

The only thing they don't have that I would like to see offered is onsite babysitting.

PROS: Personalized trainers, great hours, clean, modern environment
CONS:
