.

Many have reviewed the tables, parking, etc. so I would like to share my thoughts about the staff in their shop. They seem rather un-enthused about assisting a young adult like myself whenever I enter their store interested in buying some new gear. I am a college student and as such am on a budget, so the cues and other gear I express interest in buying is relatively cheap. It is not that I am ignorant in the area of pool cues; I spend a portion of every day researching different cue makes and models from the affordable to the expensive and highly regarded. I play pool roughly 3 hours each day in my dorm. Yet I still find that I have to dig for helpful opinions and information from the staff at The Cue Ball, and whenever they deliver said things to me, it is done in a slightly condescending manner. In other words, they are not really winning my business or favor, but I must put up with it since The Cue Ball is the only nearby pool store. The staff usually seems happy to sell me whatever it is I came in for and get me out of the store; I suppose the fact that I use a skateboard as my mode of transportation does not help my image either as I enter the store, but I clearly cannot afford a car. In addition to poor in-store service, I have called the store a couple times to inquire if they carry certain pool cues I am interested in (obviously with low price points), and both times I have received responses along the line of, "those are very low-end cues..." with the implied connotation "why are you bothering us with cheap, low-end product inquiries?" Perhaps if I was older and possessed a larger budget with which I could purchase higher-end products I might receive friendly service. Until then I will continue to reluctantly provide The Cue Ball with my hard-earned dollars to play pool daily.
