We've been taking our animals (three dogs and a Persian) to Vitality Pet Hospital for years and we just love the Vets along with their entire staff there.. They truly care about the animals and the people that cross their paths. In the past, they've seen us through the deaths of our beloved pug, Mugsie and our Persian baby, Simba. We've received phone calls from so many of their staff, which I consider lovely "after care". It's their personal touch that makes us feel like they are part of our family and we would never consider bringing our pets any place else! Simone and family

We think Vitality Pet Hospital is a great place! We have been customer's for years and years and have always been well pleased with the Vets and the Vet Tech's. All are professional and also really caring. We have a dog that loves to go there even when she has had surgery on her knee and various other issues which would make you think that she would hate the place. Our cats have also been treated with good care and kindness- as have we. We couldn't recommend it more highly!!

Have been taking my cats & other pets to Vitality for 12 years. In that time they have saved 2 of my cats lives & done many surgeries. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable & willing to help in any way they can. I would tell anyone I know to take their pets there for care & even for boarding. They always call to check on my pets after I have taken them in & a vet always calls if I have any questions or concerns. I love that they always remember my cats names (I have 7) & any health issues they have had in the past.

I have taken my pets here for over 15 years. They have treated my pets with knowledge, skill and love. They have treated me as a partner in my pets care and they have also treated me with respect and kindness. My pets have had some strange' not so common diseases and they have referred me to specialists in Portland and OSU Vet. School. I continue to take my pets here because of the care and kindness they receive.

We love Vitality Pet Hospital! We've been clients of this location since the early 1990s and were extremely pleased when Dr. Surroz bought the practice. I've seen some very positive changes, which includes the appointment system, new check-out procedures, and the overall look and feel of the clinic. We've always been treated with respect and that includes all our pets, even the difficult ones. As our pets have aged, the vets have made suggestions for alternative care as well as traditional medicine, which I appreciate. I also appreciate that they will discuss care options for health issues. I like their honesty, which helps us make the best decisions possible, and they respect those decisions. The staff is very accommodating when I call to schedule more than one critter into a block of time, whether it's for vaccines or a wellness exam. This happens alot! We aren't rushed out the door, and the staff asks if there is anything else they can help us with. They truly care about the clients, both two- and four-legged. They were a God-send last year when I was faced with a difficult situation with my foster kittens. So, do I like Vitality? Yes! I always recommend them for anyone seeking great care for their four-legged family members.

We have received wonderful care for our pets for years at Vitality Pet Hospital in South Salem. Prior to the name change it was Companion Pet Clinic. We have seen many improvements under the ownership of Dr Surroz. Love the follow up phone calls and the real concern for the well being of our pets, and us. The doctors, techs and support staff have more than met our requirements of professional care for our pets. The new system of making an appointment has certainly made it much easier to access treatment, but we also have been treated in an emergency situation to our satisfaction. Five Stars to the great staff at Vitality Pet Hospital, keep up the great work.

At the time of our appointment I believed we had excellent care. We spent over $200 on a sick cat and shots for our dog. The vet seemed to be competent but after paying the bill and bringing the bag of medicne home for our cat (who had been abused and suffers long term ailments from that abuse) we discovered the eye ointment at a cost of $33 was not included in the med bag. I called the next morning and they assured me they will give me the missing med. My husband went to pick it up..and brought home a EAR wash..not a hydrocortisone eye ointment. I called, the staff Julie was very sympathetic, but the Vet said they would not give me a refund on the eye ointment (which they no longer had in stock). I told them I will bring in the EAR wash since we did receive that. Julie said they would give us an eye drop to tide us over until the ointment was in stock. But...get this. No refund on the $33 hydrocortisone eye ointment that we had already paid for in that $200+ bill. The vet merely said she gave it to us so no on the refund. WHAT? We also have to schedule a surgery for my poor abused cat at the cost of over $300 in the next month. So..no refund on a medicine that we paid for and they expect to keep us as clients? I'm discusted at how little that Vet cared for my pet. She clearly doesn't care my pet gets the proper treatment..nor does she care to retain a 10+year customer over giving us the wrong meds and making it right by refunding. IF the owner makes things right we will return there as we love the rest of the staff and doctors....NOT that VET.

Simply dreadful. We've been going here for a few years, and while I will say I am confident in the vets themselves, some of the staff are so unprofessional that you can only believe they must actually hate their jobs, because they have no interests in doing them. Our last visit sealed the deal and we are officially looking for a new vet. Slow, rude and as helpful as broken garden gnomes. Trust me, go some where else - for whatever you feel you've saved in selecting this clinic, you'll most likely be spending that on therapy to recover from the encounter you are likely to have here.

We have used this clinic for at least 20 years and liked the vets but always thought the staff are rude. Now it is not Companion but Vitality and I went to get my dog her rabies shot. It has been two years since our last visit but the receptionist argued with me about my last visit date. She asked my name, she could not find me or my dog in her system. After a few minutes she found my name finally but stillargued about my dogs last visit. Who Cares ? !!! I had my dog with me and was prepared for my dog to get her shot. NO NO NO, contrary to thier web site which advertises walk ins are welcome, they require an appoint. and then will only give a rabies shot after a full exam. I love my dog but the economy bites and 38.00 plus the cost of the shot !! Now I understand why some people choose to not register and license their pets. Oh yes, new staff, same rude attitude. She really needs to smile as she argues it would have made the ride back home with my dog much nicer.

My daughter and I have a lot of dogs and cats between us and she chose Companion Pet Clinic when she moved to Salem because of the prices. When I moved to Salem, I ended up taking some of her animals there when necessary. I have been there probably a dozen times, several times with dogs who have been seen there many times and, with one dog, several days in a row because of a serious injury. No one ever remembered my name or the names of the pets, their issues, ages, or anything at all.

The vets seem good, but some of the vet techs are argumentative and arrogant. I have owned many dogs over a period of 35 years and am passionate about my animals. Please do not tell me how stupid I am when you cannot even remember a dog who was in your clinic yesterday, the day before and the day before that.

This is one of the (overall) worst clinics I have ever been to.

Many years ago I had a cat whose liver was failing. She was very, very sick. For the first 2 weeks the vets at Companion were very caring. After that, I must say I have never been treated so disrespectfully. They gave up on the cat but never once had the nerve to suggest euthanasia which would have been better than what they did. They continued prescribing medicines, but never checked my pet anymore & once I waited in a back room until I finally asked someone where the vet was & was told by an assistant, ??Oh, she??s left for the day?. I took the advice of a friend & took Molly to Dr.s Bob & Laura Archer at Ash Creek Animal Clinic in Independence. They threw away more than half the prescriptions Companion had been handing out to me, told me that although they had never seen a cat whose liver was in such bad shape, that there was still hope. This was many years ago & my cat is now a healthy 15 year old. Companion is only qualified for basic animal care in my opinion.

Companion Pet Clinic has to be the best in town. The staff is very nice and caring towards the animals and their owners. Also, their prices for vaccinations and procedures are a whole lot less than other vet clinics in town. Highly recommended!!!

I really like this vet office. Only complaint is the long wait to be seen by the doctor. Prices can not be beat. Doctors seem to be very caring and understanding. I have taken very sick animals here as well as routine checkups. Not the cleanest place, but I would like to see a vet's office that is. Parking can be an issue, they only have a few stalls.

We have gone to the south Companion Pet Clinic since it opened. We have lost three animals now, and they never fail to send a consolation card. The care has been outstanding and the attention to both pets and humans is great. On top of that, Dr. Ross does great community service in the wild.

I take my dog to companion pet clinic for his shots and exams. They are friendly and helpful. Sometimes you have to wait in line a long time, but I think that is because they don't take appointments and they have good prices so a lot of people use them. They are really good with the animals. They treat them like people. Their parking is a problem however.

PROS: Location, prices
CONS: Parking

I have used the services of Companion Pet Care for about 20 years. The front office staff, technicians, and veterinarians are all Top Notch! They are knowledgable and very caring people. No appointments are taken, so be prepared to wait. I have never felt rushed, my pets receive complete exams, and all my questions are answered before I leave the exam room. I highly recommend the clinic on Commercial St.

Companion Pet clinic is a veterinarian clinic that offers great service and affordable prices. The staff are professional, courteous, and remember your animals. Companion pet clinic is about half the cost of some other clinic's in my area for an office visit. I would highly recommend this clinic. The only down fall is it is walk in only.

PROS: Friendly, affordable, staff courteous
CONS: Walk in only, no appointments
