Escential Lotions and Oils started in a tiny Portland, Oregon storefront in 1979. The goal was simple: to offer the best quality bath and skin care at a reasonable price with excellent customer service. The opening was a family event, with owner Meg Mann's family building shelves and counters, and Emily, her eight-year old daughter, labeling the first batch of soaps. Escential, now a second-generation independent, woman-owned business, has passed from mother to daughter. Escential has grown into a bustling fragrance and skincare store in one of Portland's busiest shopping districts, a rapidly growing Internet business and a our traditional mail-order catalogue business. We are proud to be featured in Portland's "Best Places". Escential is affordable to everyone. We have kept our fragance and skincare packaging plain and simple, just quality ingredients in a quality product.

Making your own scent is the best, I love to mix the scents together to find a really unique blend. The prices are good and the staff is so nice and helpful. I love this place!

I love this place. I can mix scents if I am feeling adventurous or stick with their own signature scents such as; Portland Rain. The service is not always the best. At times, it feels as if I am burdening the staff by asking them to ring up my sale. However, it would take a lot for me to quit shopping here. I have been patronizing that store for 15 years!

I love Escential Oils & Lotions, they have really great makeup for not a lot of money! My favorites are the loose powder eyeshadow ($5.00!) They also have all the masks, cleansers, scrubs, and just about every scent you can think of. It's deffinatly worth stopping by and taking a look around!

I love this place! The staff is friendly (and hot). The products are great quality and animal-friendly. Making your own blend is so much fun and the ladies there are really helpful. Check this place out for your christmas shopping, very reasonably priced.

This little shop has lots of lovely bath and body products, essential oils, and makeup. It's a great place to just hang around in for an hour and experiement with the products. They don't pressure you to buy or to leave, you can just put makeup on to your hearts content, or try the lotions, until you find the right thing! Almost everything has a tester. The staff is so friendly. This is a great gift store!
