Bernard's Garage Inc

My husband thinks this place is really good. He feels the guys never steer him wrong and charge reasonable rates. It;s very close in downtown Milwaukie and has good service.

I went to Bernard's for a second opinion & it turns out the other local shop that is 5 minutes from them was incorrect & trying to steer me towards replacing just the 1 leaking component (timing cover) at a very cheap price & bad time frame to complete the job. When John @ Bernard's had thier mechanic look at the entire cooling system, it turns out the water pump was the culprit as well as the thermostat being broken! They we're kind enough to take me home & pick me up when the repair was done later that day. The repair cost was $198.00 more than the other shop which was a wise investment for me to find an accutate fair shop who tells you like it is instead of sugar coating to get the job. And they are AAA approved which got me a discount, highly recommended with a great staff!

I went to Brake Team to get one of there advertised $99 brake jobs and by the time they were done giving me there estimate it was well over $550 for front and rear brakes without a good explanation of the charges. Needless to say I took my car and left. My neighbor told me about Bernard's Garage and that they were honest and fair. So I decided to give them a try. Mark in the front office was very helpful. He took the time to explain the repair to me and showed me on my own car what was wrong. Even though I had to pay for a brake inspection I still got my brakes done for under what the other guys wanted.

When we went in here they were not the friendliest people. Almost seemed as if we were bothering them instead of being a customer. They did answer all our questions and gave us estimates though so we did get what we were after.
