Horrible Club

by Richard A.

I was a member @ ESAC for 1 year. The pool was ALWAYS dirty. I swear there was SAND in it all the time. How the heck do you get sand in your pool? The locker rooms were always dirty. The paper towels in the dispenser were always out. The equipment was nice but the personal trainers were stand offish. I've met the owner and her partner once they seem nice. The club manager was very rude to me and would not return any of my phone calls about the sand in the pool. I'm So glad 24 hour fitness opened up right next to there clackamas location. I hope they get driven out of business!

Great Club!

by Brian F.

Just shopped 3 clubs in the Clackamas neighborhood and found the East Side Clackamas Club to be far superior to all others. Their equipment was gorgeous and the locker room amenities were a superb surprise. They have a womens training area and a fun looking child care area too. New large TV sets in the cardio area make it look easy to stick with a 1/2 hour on the treadmill. We're about to join. Just read some other reviews and I agree that it's the best place in town and I didn't see anything at all that was not in perfect working order.

Best in the business!

by Anonymous

My family has had a long-term membership with East Side in Milwaukie. We would never think of moving our membership elsewhere as there isn't a local facility that meets the benefits and high standards that East Side provides. East Side consistently strives for excellence in it's programs, equipment and service. The club is always providing members with new equipment to workout on, has a variety of classes to attend and is very family friendly by providing programs for children to participate in (camps, swimming, racquetball, etc). The facility is always clean. There is never a wait for equipment use. The bonus, however, is the staff. They are very friendly and service oriented. I have recommended this club over the years to all my friends.

I wouldn't go to any other club BUT East Side Athletic Club

by Cheryl C.

I have been a member of East Side Athletic Club for 18 years and they have always been progressive, versatile, and CLEAN. I have enjoyed their friendly staff and the exclusive, professional atmosphere. They are the only club on the East Side that offers something for my whole family. I absolutely love the classes and instructors. My husband works out in the cardio theater area. My eleven year is getting "junior certified" so she can workout in specific areas of the club by herself. My two younger children enjoy swimming and using the courts. My youngest daughter takes dance lessons there. I am at the club 5 days a week. I wouldn't workout at any other club. I have traveled all over the united states and I have worked out at many other facilities as a guest. I feel East Side has a inviting atmosphere that anyone could feel comfortable working out in.

East Side Athletic Club - Fitness for the Whole Family!

by Anonymous

Fitness opportunities of all sorts are available under one roof. It's great to see Senior citizens participating in chair exercise classes in the same 30 minutes you can watch five year old youths learning to swim. Wonderful variety of experiences for all ages!

THE WORST

by karen o.

The place is always unclean The spa is usually broken or cold. The pool has a scum line and grit on the bottom and its always to cold. The weight rooms equipment has never been sanitized it has the same yuck on it as when I started a month ago. They do not offer childcare enough and their weekend hours are too short. We have communicated these problems to them, but they take no action. We have a family membership and we are all very disappointed. We are ending our relationship and joining 24hour fitness. Save your money and do not join this one!

Couldn't agree more! East side is old and constantly broken

by L R.

Ha it is funny that you wrote that, Anonymous. I was just there yesterday and the Hot Tub was broken. In fact, I tried to call this AM to see if it was working yet, and their phone was out of service!!!!!

For the last couple of months or so it was open for like a week. I think the staff are top-notch trying to make up for the consistently broken equipment. The kid care area is the best of anywhere, but we too, are looking at the new 24 hour fitness where we can get amenities that work! Your paying the same price whether stuff works or not aren't you??? Don't waste your money here!!!!

Something ALWAYS broken!

by Anonymous

I have been a long time member of ESAC in Clackamas, Oregon. Simply put, the staff are awesome, the equipment is nice, but the facility itself especially the Spa is ALWAYS broken, being filled with cold water, too much chlorine, etc. It never fails, you workout and hit the spa....AHHHH cold, or a big sign saying Sorry members, but this piece o' crap is broken (again). They just spent a ton on a remodel that was supposed to have a "mens lounge" repleat with big screen tvs and so on. This was just their usual bait to keep members around, in the end...we got some new lockers...oh joy. I am going to 24 hour fitness just around the corner.

East Side Athletic Club- Milwaukie

by Tricia K. | insider Insider | Rank: 14,236

I visited this location with my mother who received a Senior Voucher for swimming pool access. It is a great thing that this club allows seniors use of the pool. The employees were helpful and informative. Unfortunately, being a senior, my mother had difficulty entering the pool facilities. Due to the small size and noise level, the pool was not very appealing. The other club facilities looked quite nice.

Great Environment

by David T. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 9,491

At East Side Athletic Club I learned how to play one of my favorite sports: racquetball. And with five clean, open courts East Side is a great place to learn. They also offer a wide variety of work-out equipment and a nice pool. It is all kept very clean, and the staff always greets you as you enter, and bids you farewell as you leave.

East Side Athletic Club is a great place to work out in downtown Milwaukie. They have a great assortment of stuff you can do to help keep in shape or tone up your body. Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
