5 Stars: Very happy! (by by Carriedogmom at Citysearch)

I really like these vets- they know a lot and really told me everything. I was so happy they helped my dog and I told my friends to go there too. I did not think the prices were any worse than elsewhere, and they give me personal care, not just an assembly line. They were telling me why my dog did not need a vaccine I thought she would need.

1 Stars: Rip Off !! (by by anna0007 at Citysearch)

I went to Companion Pet Clinic (CPC) in the end, since Hart Road vets are such quacks and theifs.

Cost comparison: CPC vs Hart Rd

Office visit: $26 vs $50
Revolution medicine: $16 vs $28
Fecal sampling: $16.50 vs $28
Antibiotic Eye Drops: $14 vs $23
Teeth Cleaning: $150 vs $300

This is just to name a few cost differences.

The vets at Hart Road are all out to get you to pay ridiculous amounts. The vet (Dr Smith) prescribed 3 different expensive medicines for my cat's symptoms despite my verifying a few times if those medicines were truly necessary. It didn't seem like my cat needed all these medicines. But the vet insisted (of course, since she wanted to make money), and told me the price of the medicines. They seemed really expensive, so i told her i would like to buy them online instead (like 1800petmeds) and for her to just write me a prescription, but she said my cat needed the medicines immediately or else. So i got fooled and paid up for everything.

One week later, my pet's ear symptoms have gotten worse. So i went to a different vet (CPC), who diagnosed differently and gave me much cheaper medicines, and now my cat is doing well.

Not only are Hart Rd vets completely incapable of even diagnosing your pets correctly, they purposely try to trick you into buying unnecessary medicines to milk as much money out of you as possible.

I went to Companion Pet Clinic (CPC) in the end.

5 Stars: When walking your dog, stop by this friendly Vet Clinic with a free Puppy Class (by by Anndee80 at Citysearch)

Love this vet clinic. Small, friendly, helpful, caring. Prices are about the same in all the nearby vets. But this vet goes out of her way to explain all problems.

She also has a great free puppy class on Saturdays. Never heard of that before. The class is to teach the puppies that vets are a good place to visit. The puppies play with each other, get lots of treats and get fun exams and nail trims. The vet said she wants to make sure that the puppies grow up to be dogs that are not traumatized by going to the Vet. What a fantastic idea.

I live in the neighborhood, so when we go out for walks we stop by to talk. We are always welcomed. This vet reminds me of old times, small town friendlness and helpfulness.

5 Stars: Personal Service (by Krista Z.)

Hart road is a great place. They let you not only look, but hold all of the animals up for adoption. The service is not only satisfactory, but you cant help but love each staff member for their friendly kindness towards everybody who walks through their door.

1 Stars: Will even charge you $5.oo to write a prescription. (by by malisonj at Citysearch)

I started going to Hart Road when I got my two puppies. The first check up ended up costing $399.00 for both. I was shocked! I thought perhaps it was because it was the very first time they had been to the vets. Oh...how wrong I was. I went back two days later because one of my dogs had what appeared to be a cold and they thought he needed Xray. The visit ended up costing me $400. Three hundred was for the x ray and 100 was for an office visit/exam even though we were just there two days earlier. The dog ended up needing surgery and through their recommendation I found a surgeon to perform a necessary who asked to see the X rays taken at Hart Road. I requested them and they charged me $25.oo to borrow them and would credit me when they got the X Ray back. I already paid $300 for them!!!!! For my other dog I was quoted an $800. fee to get him neutered, I checked around and ended up getting him neutered at another vet and a id chip installation for under $100. I don't know why I kept going back. I just wanted consistent care for my dogs. But I can't anymore. Last night my dog tore his dew claw out just before they closed. They recommended an emergency vet. I live less than three blocks from Hart road. I ended up calling Aloha Vet who were closing and they stayed open to care for my dog even though they have never seen him. And finally, this morning I ordered meds for my dog from an on line pet med co. My vet refused to verify the Rx for Heartgard even though it will save me money and ensure my dogs from Heart worm. I was told that if I wanted to work with this on line co I could drive over and pick up a Rx for a $5.00 fee. No More!!! I'm done!!

1 Stars: Not worth it. Sign up at Banfield's Wellness Plan and save yourself money (by by pajarito at Citysearch)

I went to Hart Road Animal Hospital after a friend recommended their services. I took my cat for a checkup and the vet told me he needed his teeth cleaned because of tartar buildup and swollen gums. They gave me a quote of nearly $500 for his teeth cleaning. They told me they would have to do a complete examination with lab tests, and put him under anesthesia to clean his teeth. I was outraged by the amount and the whole explanation, as it seemed crazy for me to pay more for my cat's teeth cleaning than I pay for my own. I asked another friend (who has a dog) what she does regarding vets. She referred me to Banfield's Wellness Plans. I signed up and I pay $12/month for my cat and I can take him twice a year to get consulations and they even have complementary physical exams on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I took my cat yesterday for his regular vaccinations and had the vet examine him. They told me he had tartar and swollen gums and gave me a package of cat chews that will take care of the problem for $15. Now THAT is a whole different ball game. I am very happy with the services they provided and because I have my cat signed up for their wellness plan, I saved $268 for the entire visit. They only things I had to pay for were the cat chews. :o)
