I am not impressed with this place! I have eaten fabulous Italian food al over the world, and this food is very average and overpriced for what it is. The service is very spotty, but usually fair only. I find most of the dishes uninspired. I can get better food elsewhere when I don't have to wait so long, can find better parking, and where I am not shoved into a tiny space to wait a long time to be served. Who are they kidding?

Wow...I've waited nearly two years to try this place after hearing how great it was. I was disappointed. The service was average at best. I agree with what Erica said about the lasagna. In fact, the dish was so hot that the waitress practically threw it at me. Even then, the entree is served with nothing but bread and the portion size was okay but not great. You get a larger portion at the Olive Garden and it comes with soup or salad. I thought $15 was steep for what I got. At Mazzi's, I am too stuffed to have room for dessert. Here, I could have eaten it...however, if you are considering dessert, get this...the servers don't offer a dessert tray presentation or even offer a description of the desserts. Nope. They simply tell you that they come from Sweet Life and if you want to see them, you can get up and walk over to the dessert case. Doubt I will go back and I certainly wouldn't recommend this place. Overrated!

My husband and I have been eating at Beppe & Gianni's Trattoria for five years. Over the years, we have had a combination of some of the most wonderful meals and worst. The lasagna is baked in a dish and is served scorching hot with bad flavor. It burned my husband's mouth, and he said it was terrible. We sent it back for something else. The appetizers are horrible - especially the shrimp. The shrimp tasted like charcoal, and our bruschetta was soggy with an odd flavor. We sent back the shrimp, and the owner was offended. She did not credit us or offer a different dish; we were so disappointed (bad service). You can never go wrong with their fresh ravioli - especially when they offer the lobster ravioli; it's amazing. The grilled salmon is succulent and flavorful, and the penne pasta with pomodoro sauce is tasty. The prices are very high for Eugene and in general, but the food is worth it if you stick with the items you enjoy. The wait-time to get in is usually long, and they do not have a waiting room, which is uncomfortable when you're forced to stand in the entry/exit way of the restaurant, and they tend to expedite seating for friends and/or people they think are "elite".

I wrote up a huge review of why you shouldn't go to this restaurant on google, and apparently, someone deleted it. Don't be fooled by the positive reviews - the table settings are reminiscent of the olive garden, and the food isn't any better than I could do when I was 16. The prices are way too high and the entrees are oversimplified, uncreative, and underwhelming. It's worth the drive to go up to Portland to a real italian restaurant like Fratelli, or Mingo.

The food is very good. I love the bruschetta. They also have a tempting selection of desserts. As has been mentioned, parking can be a problem and it gets quite busy on the weekends. But worth those minor hassels.

I called and made a reservation two weeks in advance..When we got there they said that they didn't do that on the weekends. They were very rude about it.
The waitress that we had was rude to us as well. She never checked on us and when we were thanking her she did not respond at any point.
We were there for over an hour and saw her twice.
At the end of the meal we told her we need to pay separate because there were 13 of us and she said no. They don't do that. She then added 18% gratuity to the check when the menu said 15%...Besides the fact that she didn't deserve a dime.
I will never eat there again and I will tell people if they ask how poorly we were treated.

I can't believe I'm the first person to review this place given how popular this place is in Eugene. It is the ultimate romantic restaurant as it is not flashy but in a sense small and homey. The service has always been a winner, but what continually brings me back is their affordable entrees of what seems to be very authentic Italian. Their standard is unmatched in Eugene, hence why they are the best Italian option in the city.

Pros: Food, Prices, Service

Cons: Parking

.

Beppe & Giannis is definitely one of the best restaurants in Eugene. Parking is definitely not great, but you can usually find something on a neighboring street. The restaurant is small, but the food is big in flavor. They almost always have a ravioli of the day and it is unique and amazing. It gets very crowded quickly, so it's always best to go early. It's close proximity to campus makes it a great place to take potential faculty/students.

Beppe and Giannis has some of the best pasta and bread I have ever tasted. The restaurant is very busy, but is set up nicely. The wait is definatly worth it! I have never had a service problem either!
