.

We showed up an hour before closing. The man behind the counter told us not to pay the admission, but to make a donation in the donation box if we felt like contributing something. He said that there was too much to see, so that 1 hour in the museum was not worth the full price of a ticket. "Come back some other day!"

We looked at a map of shipwrecks, and were able to locate a wreck that we had found on the beach earlier that day. The ship lit up on the map, and we read the related information on our shipwreck, the Peter Iredale.

There were several exhibits with information on the animal life in the Columbia river, rescue workers on the river, as well as the Pacific, a look at how fishermen made their living. There is also a room with a short continual movie of life on the Columbia River.

I think kids and adults will be equally entertained.

PROS: clean, large museum, attractive exhibits
CONS:
