We have now made two purchases at Gage Auto Sales. We bought my husband's 2006 Silverado extended cab truck a year ago last August. The salesman, Trey, was so wonderful. We also worked with Jim, on the financing portion for our truck.

Great place, I got just what I wanted, the salesmen are trying to make a sale but I didn't want to choke them out like the dirt bags down the road. All I have to say is don't go to the Mazda place at the old Thomason lot.

went to Gage Auto Sales this weekend and purchased a mini van for my wife and kids. Our old mini van just broke down and was going to cost $2700 to fix. Our credit was not that good, we had lost one of our jobs, and our house was past due, we were waiting for a home loan modification when our van bit the dust.

Everything seemed hopeless when we called Trey at Gage Auto Sales and he listened to our story of credit trouble and transportation trouble.

He offered to do a fast phone approval for us, and we went ahead and gave him all of our information, he said that he would call us back in a couple of minutes and let us know if they could help. My wife and I were a little nervous for about 10 minutes, but sure enough, Trey called us and made an appointment to come out and look at mini vans. We brough the kids and arrived to Gage Auto Sales, the first thing my wife noticed was how clean the lot was. I noticed that they only had REALLY nice cars, trucks, SUVs and lots of mini vans, there were no dents, flat tires, or distressed looking vehciles anywhere on the lot.

I was thinking to myself that this was too good to be true, but after walking the lot we choose a Chevrolet Uplander with 50,000 miles. Trey insisted we drive the van, but I was worried about getting too excited and not getting approved for the loan. Trey then brough us inside the and introduced us to Mr. Jim Browning. I told Jim straight up that I did not have a bunch of money down, and our budget was low, also we reiterated that our house loan was past due and we didn't think we could get approved. Our credit union that had done several loans for us over the last 10 years even said no.

Jim asked us to drive the van while he worked on the details of our loan. I drove the van first while my wife and kids stayed in the dealership, they had alot of toys, coloring books, and things to keep them busy! Of course I loved the van, it drove like a dream, when I came back to the dealership I asked my wife to drive it and make sure it was going to work for her also.

She came back and we had a moment to ourselves to discuss if we would go through with it. We decieded that we would try it if they could do it!

After a couple of minutes and discussing down payments options we were offered to purchase the new van with just our old van as trade and no cash out of pocket!! The payment was okay with our budget, but we only had one problem, our van did not run. Jim offered to tow it in at no additional cost. It seemed way too easy.

We only had one concern left, full coverage insurance, we had none. I drive a 1993 Honda accord that we paid off in 1999 and was not worth the money to pay for full coverage, and our old mini van was not worth keeping full coverage on either. That's when Jim introduced me to Mark Jones, a Country Companies insurance agent. After talking to him for a while he not only quoted us a full coverage insurance, but he gave us a binder on the spot!

We just got a call from Jim and he let us know today that our loan is final and everthing went as planned, he asked us to go online and do a review and we pleased to report that they did EVERYTHING they promised to do.

I would recommend Gage Auto Sales to anybody that has a situation where they need a helping hand. They were compassionate, caring, and professional in every sense of the word.

Thank you Gage Auto Sales!!

I am very impressed. I had been searching private party sales, but my wife had found a Dodge Caravan listed on craigslist, located at Gage Auto. Because of the 'stereotype' of independent car lots I was thinking, "oh great, used car sales people....". Gage Auto, and everyone (yes everyone) I dealt with there was great to work with. Not a lot of pressure, they kidded around with my kid and they even laughed at my moronic sense of humor. Customer service was excellent, because I was shopping without my wife, the guys there even helped deliver the van home on a snowy night. The van was in near new condition and the price I received was close to KBB trade-in value.

I will shop there again and I am willing to recommend them.

The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is because of 2 errors on the online ad. They listed it as having 39k miles, but it really had 42+k miles (It think the internet guy took the miles from the carfax and didn't verify it on the dash) and they listed the van as having a roof rack which it does not. I wish I had caught this before I bought it, we have a roof top carrier for skis and camping gear (I'm not sure what I'm going to do now on that one). I believe these where incidental misstates and nothing intentional, but I really need a roof rack.

I used to work in the car business. Sorry to tell you, I shopped all over this town, only to end up back at Gage Auto. There store was very clean their cars were clean, and I did not feel as much pressure as the places with the sales staff in monkey suits hounding me. I bought a Suburban for what I felt was a good buy. I was offered a high rate due to the fact, I screwed up my credit up in my first marrige. I am just glad they could obtain any financing for me.. Anyway I am very happy with my Suburban and I highly recomomend buying from the staff at Gage Auto. Thanks Kevin P Dixon

Pros: BETTER THAN MOST TRASHY PORTLAND DEALERS

Cons: BUYING A CAR IS NEVER FUN

.

Very disappointed with this company. We went in to buy a car because they advertised that they would finance anyone. We have some credit issues..5 yr old BK, medical bills, 2yr old repo. We went in and picked a car in the price range we were told, not a great car and it had issues we knew of(High miles, signed a paper saying we knew the stereo did not work). We were urged to buy a powertrain warranty to ease our worries. We were told that financing wouldn't be a problem and we signed the papers and drove the car home. When we had not heard from them in 6 days and had received a few credit denial letters we called and they said there was no problem it sometimes takes more than a week. That night I filled the gas tank-$34 (there was an 1/8th of a tank when they sent us home with it), put in fuel treatment..the fuel sender unit was malfunctioning-$8 and fixed the stereo that didn't work. The next day we were informed that we could not get approved and had to bring the car back. We did and told them we would have appreciated a heads up before and all we got were excuses and not even an apology or offer to reimburse.

Pros: none

Cons: a lot

I have had two experiences with Gage Auto Sales. The first time I was helping a friend find a car. The car was poorly represented and although the salesperson promised over the phone to let her view the carfax he couldn't produce it when we showed up. The only thing the salesperson seemed to be able to do was ask "What would it take for you to buy it today". After driving the car we observed it pulled horribly to one side and had obviously been wrecked. She told him she wanted to discuss it with her husband and they tried to talk her into buying it anyway contingent on the fact that her husband liked it. Of course, she could bring it back if he didn't approve (lol). On my next visit, inquired about 3 vehicles at Gage and found upon my arrival that only one was there. This vehicle was nearly new but had wrecking yard paint marked on the passenger door. This vehicle also had paint overspray in the wheel wells and didn't seem to track correctly-again, it appeared it had been wrecked. I noticed that they still have vehicles advertised that were supposedly sold when I arrived-nice tactic. This place is ultra high-pressure and they like to throw several different salespeople at you. At least both times I was there the test drive route was suspiously short so I didn't waste too much time. Maybe they were worried the car wouldn't make it back to their lot...........
