I had no experience with choosing a saddle for my horse and went to Saddle Up that I had been told was very good at it. Unfortunately I had a less than satisfactory experience with this business trying to fit a saddle to my horse. I trailered my horse to this business to have the sales person, who was suppose to be knowledgable, fit a saddle to my Morgan/QH cross horse. After trying several saddles he chose one and I purchased it. The next day I tried it out with a clean blanket to keep it unsoiled, but noticed that when cinched for riding the rear of the saddle did not rest on the horse even when I was mounted, and that the cinch was positioned way too far forward and would have caused galling. This galling was one of the problems I was trying to solve. I realized then that when fitting the saddle at the shop the saddle had never been cinched tight enough for riding. When I returned the saddle that had been on the horse less than an hour and was in the same condition as when I bought it, the sales person said I could exchange it but not get a full value because it had now been used. I had to use my credit there as they have a no refund policy. I special ordered a specific saddle that a private individual had fitted for me. Saddle Up did discounta the recommended retail price. I now am very satisfied with with this saddle. I felt that I was treated shabbily on the return value of the saddle and that this person did not do a good job on choosing a saddle the first time even though I brought my horse in for fitting.
