I've gone through may fair share of salons over the years. A friend of mine suggested I try Platform Salon. I did and I'm so happy that I found this place. Pauline, the owner, has transformed my hair. The color looks amazing and I love the style she has giving me. Not only is Pauline a very cool gal she really knows her stuff. She listened to what I wanted and came up with a sassy new look for me...LOVE IT! I have never gotten so many compliments on my hair color in my life. This salon is very trendy. You can enjoy a glass of vino and check out the latest photos on the walls, all while getting an off the charts scalp massage. Bottom line if you want fab hair from an upscale salon without the upscale attitude then go to Platform and check out my gal Pauline.

I recently returned from a year abroad from China and was in desperate need for a haircut. I had a stylist in China who had given me a new style of haircut and I was worried that it would be hard to replicate it with another stylist here in Portland. April new exactly what to do, she listened to my ideas about it but also put in some of her own ideas. She was very precise and wasn't rushed at all. I will definitely go back to her in the future, probably next week since my last haircut with her was over a month ago and my bangs are getting long! I would definitely recommend April, you won't be disappointed!

Molly has been doing my hair for over three years now. I followed her to Platform from another salon and it was well worth it!
I repeatedly get compliments on my blond locks by random people and I owe it all to Ms. Scrutton. If I want to try some new color she is always honest of how it will look with my fair skin tone and my wanna be frizzy hair that she tames down to a beautiful straight look or a soft curled look. Going home after seeing Molly is a waste - it's time for heading out on the town or to see friends and family. I highly recommend her and say if you are need of a new stylist, try Molly!

I love this salon-location and folks. Paige has been doing my hair wonders for the past 2 years now and I can't say enough great things about her. She is always prompt and confident and fun-she always has a smile and an honest opinion about my wacky hair ideas : )

I have to give kudos to the finest hair stylist I have ever had the delight to -Paige Rene at Platform does an amazing job-she is friendly and very confidnet in creating a style I love. She is versatile as I often go through different colors and looks depending on my mood and she can do it all : )

Normally someone messing up the schedule for my haircut isn't the end of the world, but today it happened for the second time with this salon. Ja'nein did an amazing job and I'd recommend her to anyone, but I'm was so disappointed today because I called the salon about 2 hrs prior to my scheduled color (or so I'd thought) and the dummy at the front desk who I'd booked the appointment through over the phone, but also confirmed with him in person when I was down there, never wrote me in the books. This is my second scheduling mix-up here so I am not sure I'm going back. Again-great cut and color, but they need a better scheduling software or something!!

I just moved here from the east coast in July, and looked hard for a recommended stylist. Ja'Nien Sisk's name came up 3 times, so I had to try her. I can't tell you how pleased I was with my very first haircut. I have found that many stylists are very sloppy with men's cuts. Ja'Nien gave me the best precision cut I have ever had. She was on time, very professional and truely listened to me. I have been back twice and when I saw this site I just had to give my ups to a great stylist and a very nice salon. The price is well worth it.

After meeting with virtually every hair extension artist in Portland, I met up with Andrea and I am so glad! She is amazing. Very creative. Professional. Interesting. And, most importantly, she cares about what I look like; wanted me to look my best--not like some other stylists who make it all about them. Not only did she make me look amazing (I've had such a great summer with beautiful hair!) she gave me her contact numbers so I could call her with questions and come in and see her (free of charge) if I had any issues (I haven't) -- she's just terrific. If you are thinking of getting extensions she's the person in Portland to see. The other thing, after sitting for over 5 hours at the salon while getting my extensions I can tell you that the there is great talent in this salon. I saw many patrons come in looking like ordinary people and every person left looking amazing. And the receptionist is just great, friendly, knowledgable, helpful .... I highly recommend this salon (any stylist) and especially Andrea for extensions. It's a must try!

I have been going to Jasmine for over 10 years. She has always done the best job and I have never been unhappy with her work. She always takes the time to find out what I want and will advise me against making bad choices. I always look great when I leave and would highly recommend her to everyone.

Platform Artistic Salon was one of the best salons I have ever worked at! I was sad to leave but really wanted to open my own studio. Thanks to a loyal following my new space has been a complete success. If you are looking for a great salon in the Pearl you should give Platform a try. Andrea at Platform Artistic Salon saved my hair and gave me the best extensions and hairstyle I have ever had. About 7 months ago I went to a salon here in Portland and they tried bleaching my hair from jet black to blonde within a couple hours. Well needless to say all my hair melted out right there is the rinsing bowl! I was horrified and had to wear a wig the past 7 months. I had looked all over town the past 2 weeks trying to find someone that could give me extensions now that my hair is longer and correct the color of my very damaged hair. Every salon I went to for a consultation either said my hair was too short for extensions or they could do them but I would not be very happy with the results. That is untill I found an add on craiglist for Andrea who works at Platform Artisitc Salon. I went to the consultation and she was very confident that she could give me beautiful long blonde hair and give me the color I wanted. I went ahead and booked the appointment and I got exactly what she said she could do. I went from having extremely short ugly colored hair to long beautiful blonde hair. I am so happy with Andrea's services that I would reccommed her to anyone. I have had professional extensions before and they were never done anywhere near the quality and unbealivable results as with Andrea. Not only did my extensions come out beautiful but my hair that onced felt damaged is now soft and feels very healthy. She also cut and styled my hair to match exactly what I told her that I wanted. For me I have always explained to a stylist what hairstyle I wanted and I never really got what I had pictured in my mind. Andrea knew exactly what I wanted and I left totally shocked at how beautiful my hair looked. I will never go to anyother salon, stylist or extensions specialist other then Andrea at Platform Salon.

After two disappointing salon experiences I walked into the hands of Molly at the Platform Artistic Salon in the Pearl. She heard my sorry story, she saw my sorry hair, and she worked her magic! Simply awesome results. Came home feeling like a new person. Her color technique and her haircut was just suberb. Kudos to her neighbor stylist who spent 4.5 hours on doing hair extensions the same day. Really nice atmosphere, friendly, experienced, non-pretentious people..

I love my new do!!! April is awesome, she has the knowledge that I really needed in getting
the look I wanted! The Salon is wonderful, great atmosphere, great people and CLEAN!
I highly recommend going to see April for your hair styling needs/wants.
She listens and respects your wishes, and has great ideas.

I feel so lucky to have finally found a amazing stylist. I have been on the hunt for longer than I can remember. A good friend of mine suggested April saying I would love her. I can't tell you how right she was. I loved everything about my visit. Not only do I look amazing, but she listened to me and gave wonderful suggestions. I have never had better color with a perfect cut. I left feeling good about myself and had so much fun talking to April. She is so talented and such a nice person. If your looking for someone to make you look great, and also a cool person, go see April!!!!!!!!!!!!

A girlfriend of mine referred me to Stacy, I called and wanted to get in that week but she didn't have an appointment available. So I decided to try another salon a different friend suggested and I regret it!!! Long story short I was not pleased so I called Platform and booked with Stacy she didn't have an opening for several weeks but let me tell you it was worth the wait!! She fixed the nightmare I came in with and had a bunch of suggestions on what would look good. I felt completely confident in her ability to make me over! I have a sassy new cut and absolutely gorgeous color!

I can't say enough good things about this salon. I have tried almost every nice salon in Portland and was never super impressed or happy with the results. I got a color and cut from Jodi and was thrilled with the results. She did an excellent job listening to me and had many suggestions, and she took plenty of time with me. She was very sweet and funny, which made it a much more pleasant time. I found the whole place to be very unpretentious and felt very comfortable. I highly recommend Jodi.

Pauline does the best hair coloring!! A wonderful stylist! Friendly, fun and always a party. Conveniently located in the Pearl, with lots of parking. This place has the greatest people working there!

If you need your hair done there's only one place to go. I recomend Chelsea!!!! I am always thrilled with how my hair looks and I get a lot of compliments. Chelsea is the stylist for you if you want someone to listen and give you exactly what you want.

I found Platform Artistic Salon through citysearch, I called for an appointment and they were able to squeeze me in that same day due to a cancellation. Rachel colored my hair and it looks the best it ever has. She listened to me and I got EXACTLY what I wanted. I love it!!

After my wife had been going to see Jasmine for some time, I finally went and have been very happy with Jasmine's work ever since. I hate switching stylists, but I'm very glad I did. I get a perfect haircut everytime I go, appointments are kept everytime and I am seen on time each time, and Jasmine automatically books future appointments for me so I can keep the same time slot that is hard to get if I wait to make an appointment. She is in high demand because the quality of her work is excellent - so book early!

Stacy is the best!!! I have lived in Portland and the surrounding areas most of my life. As a result I have been to almost every upscale salon in town. My first impression of Platform was a little rocky because parking was awful. But when I walked in a smiling face greeted me and the decor in the space is beautiful. Everyone working in the salon seemed genuinely happy to be there. I truly believe any salon can have the ?look good? factor going for them. I think beauty is only skin deep. A good salon is only as good as the professionals that work in the space. My appointment was with Stacy, she took the time to consult with me she asked me questions about my daily life and what has worked and not worked in the past. She was full of ideas and it made me think of things I haven?t thought of before. She isn?t the kind of hairstylist that is timid. She really tells it like it is and I appreciated that about her. I left with the best color I have ever had and a very easy and cute new cut. I am not the type of person that schedules in advance but I suggest you call a few weeks ahead with Stacy because she is a little hard to get into.

Platform Artistic Salon is the best salon I've been to in Portland. Not only is the look of the salon energizing, it's professional without the snobby feel. Pauline is the best hair colorest I've ever seen!! She stays current with the lastest styles and with her artistic eye, she always knows what cut and color will look the best on me. Not to mention she makes me laugh the entire time! I love the products they carry (pureology rocks!)and if I'm not sure of what I need Pauline will save the day and help me figure it out. I can't help but feel like a movie star when I leave. :) This is truley a great spot, everyone there is friendly and I know I will be taken care of while I'm there.

April has been cutting my hair for 6 years. I followed her to Artistic Platform from her last salon. She is wonderful! I have had so many compliments on my hair. I have people tell me all the time that I have beautiful hair and it's all thanks to April! April is great! I won't let anyone else cut or color my hair! Artisitic Platform is a very trendy, clean and relaxed salon. I highly recommend April Becker and Artistic Platform Salon!

I had my hair highlighted and cut by Jodi. She listened well and gave me exactly what I wanted. She also had great input on how to style my new do. The salon is pleasant and trendy with wine, beer and lots of magazines.

I have had so many so-so cut and colors over the years. There have only been a small few that say WOW. So many times the hairdresser just doesn't get it. Not so with Stacy. I started to have Stacy do my cut and color just a few months ago. I was so lucky to get Stacy. She listens to what I want and recommneds the best color. She knows what looks good and consults in a very easy manner and tone. All my friends have noticed. I highly recommend Stacy to anyone!

I have been in Portland for 5 years and have been through my fair share of stylists and barbers. My biggest complaint (besides a bad cut) is that most stylists don't listen.
Chi on the other hand was excellent. She came highly recommended from a softball buddy of mine who has gone to Chi for years. His cut was alway tight and clean so I set up an appointment.
Not only was she fun to pass the time with she gave me a super cut and shampoo. I left feeling liek a million bucks and my wife loved the cut. On top of that is has grown in great, something I haven't had since I lived in the Bay Area. Chi was super and listened to me when I said "short but with style". I gave her otherwise full artistic freedom and it was well worth it.
This isn't a $25 buzz cut given by some ham-fisted ex-stripper - so expect to pay more for excellent quality. Chi and from what else I saw coming out of Platform was well worth it.

Ja'nien Sisk has been my stylist for over 10 years. I've followed her from her former salons to Platform, and I wouldn't trust my hair to any other stylist in Portland. Ja'nien cuts hair in such a way that it almost fixes itself. People always ask me where I get my hair done, even when all I've done with it is wash it. I often joke that I could go on Survivor and the last thing I'd worry about is my hair. Hair products, irons, blowdryers, and fancy brushes won't make your hair look good if you don't have the right cut. Ja'nien has an incredible way of knowing what the right cut is for your face.

I went in search of a salon to tackle my very high maintenance hair and thankfully found Platform. After meeting the owner, Pauline, I was excited to have my appointment with Paige Rene. Paige not only listened to my suggestions but offered innovative solutions. She was patient, precise and a fabulous conversationalist. Paige enthusiastically transformed my hair from blah to wow. I've never been so impressed by one stylist's expertise like this before and highly recommend Paige to anyone who needs a refreshing haircut.

I WOULD RECOMEND SHELBY FOR ANYONE WHO IS LOOKING FOR A NEW STYLIST. I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR SOMETIME TO FIND SOMEONE TO LISTEN TO EXCATLEY WHAT I WAS WANTING AND TO UNDERSTAND ME.. SHE WAS A GREAT LISTNER AND GAVE ME EXCATLEY THE CUT AND COLOR I WAS LOOOKING FOR.

Found this place through a friend and can't say enough about it. My own little beauty oasis! Love the treatments and the chairside chatter is the best. Paulene (one of the owners) is the sweetest and always knows that latest trends to keep me looking hot while still being myself. Great Pearl location-hipster but not fake. Check it out!!!

I was a party crasher at their grand opening event on a first Thursday last year, (thanks for the free booze) . Anyways while there that evening I thought this group looked like too much fun so I booked an appt. I'm was pleasantly surprised to hook up with Pauline, she always has good suggestions for updating my look, and I alway leave there feeling Hot and Sassy!! Oh and her chair side manner rocks, the girl is just down right funny... and who doesn't enjoy a quick wit, more for my money. Overall a positive and professional salon experience. The staff is always helpful, great customer service.

I was referred to Platform Salon by another salon,
I needed corrective haircolor and they were able to take great care of my needs. I am sold and will trust my hair to no one else. They saved the day!

I was traveling out of town not long ago and got a haircut. Needless to say, it wasn't good. I heard from a friend about platform and gave them a call. They were able to squeeze me in on very short notice due to a cancelation and took care of my problem. Everyone there was really friendly and very helpful, especially the receptionist that went the extra mile to get me in. Tons of thanks, and i'll be back soon. Don't miss this cool Pearl area salon.

I go here regularly for a cut and color and my friend goes for highlights. We love Platform! They have great people, a great spot in the pearl and I always leave feeling beautiful! A definite MUST TRY!!!
