JC Penney Company Inc. is located in downtown La Grande. It is currently the best clothing store available to La Grande residents. The store has a wide variety of items and constantly is running some sort of weekend ad. The business caters to all ages. Departments are available on three levels. The division of the departments has been appropriately assigned. A large basement area compliments all the home furnishings and the upstairs level accomodates all the infant to children apparell. The help is always very hometown friendly and dresses very casually. Unlike the more professional look of the big city. The store hours are extremely convenient, as they open early and stay open later than other businesses. They also are open on most holidays, except the major ones. Credit is readily available to most people. Their credit finance charge and late fee are a little steep in my mind. J C Penney Inc also offers catalog service and pickup in the basement. Their shoe dept is located in the basement in the back of all the home furnishings. This is not very convenient and is usually a last choice for shoes for me. However they do always have good bargains. Many families shop JC Penneys in LaGrande. Their location is convenient because it is in the center of town but inconvenient because there is inadequate parking.
PROS: Great bargains and quality
CONS: Inconvenient shoe dept and high late fee and interest charge.

There are not many places to shop in La Grande so I'm a bit suprised that this store hasn't been updated. Very old feeling store, fixtures, starcase even check out stands. too bad
