Awesome owners, awesome coffee, awesome "Zippies", great customers, cozy feel, "hometown feel"!!!! We moved away from Kenton but really, really, really miss these guys.

We went in today before taking the dog to Kelly Point and it felt

I wish that North Star Coffeehouse was open earlier! I love it but I can't buy my coffee there because they don't open in time for me to get to work :-( Please consider opening an hour earlier!

I go to so many coffee houses it's ridiculous, but I always come back to North Star. The music is uniformly excellent - usually blues and the volume allows for conversation, the snacks are reasonably priced and tend to be big, and the coffee is always great. Ambiance, price, and taste are my big three and this place has them all. For variety I'll occasionally stray, but I always come back to North Star.

I was confused as to why anyone would write a bad review about North star Coffee houses. I frequent this coffee-shop often for two reasons: 1-Great Coffee obviously 2-When I walk in, every employee greets me by my name, asks me how I am with actual sincerity and asks me if I would like my "usual". I have closer coffee shops I could go but am more than happy to go out of my way and support this great local business. No pretension or attitude here-just great service -great coffee, a fireplace and free wi-fi to boot make this cozy coffee shop a nice change to the often hip Portland coffee scene.

I came here on my Mom's birthday. The manager/owner(?) made me wait to process the debit card, b/c she "only had one line." Then, she gave me a receipt with all credit card numbers displayed. This is a huge nuisance, b/c a lot of businesses don't shred their numbers--I have a friend who experienced theft because of this. When I crossed out the numbers she was outrageously snippy with me. She already got the transaction--what's her problem? Then, to make matters worst--the coffee was absolutely bitter. It tasted days old. Rude manager and nasty coffee--terrible combination for your mom's birthday. Don't go here--save yourself the trouble.

I moved from North Portland to Gateway in Northeast last year and still return to North Star when I want a great coffee - the Black Forest Mocha is EXCELLENT! Plus it's a really cool place to hang out with friends. Kudos to the owners - Pam and Kathy. You two rock!!

I love this place! They have the BEST lemon bars. Try the ham and cheese croissant as well.

The staff is always very friendly and happy to have you. They have stumptown coffee.

There is a fireplace inside and you can also sit outside on the porch. The North Star Coffeehouse is in an old house on Interstate. Seating is comfortable and there are always plently of magazines to keep you entertained. I believe they also have free wi-fi.

It's a bit small inside...that would be my only complaint.

This is a great place, I find myself going here way too often! After trying MANY coffee shops in NoPo, I have found this to be the best. LOVE IT!

North Star coffee house is not what you'd expect to find in Interstate. They make great drinks and snacks in a wonderful old house with plenty of ambiance and seating. They have a huge patio and carry plenty of jewelry/crafts from local artists. Right on the max line!

Hooray for one of North Portland's coziest coffee houses.

Located in a charmingly renovated old home, Northstar serves Stumptown coffee in a delicious array of options. A small bakery selection rounds out the experience.

A small gift shop offers the wares of local artists.

Free internet connection available, too.

Comfortable indoor seating, complete with fireplace, and a large deck area with a dog station makes this place a people-pet friendly pit stop.

Northstar is located on the Interstate Max line (yellow).
