I took two items to this cleaner: 1) a sequined dress from Nordstroms that I had only worn once; and 2) a hand-embroidered minister's stole. My dress came back with no sequins left on it--only glue spots in the pattern of the sequins.

I took my wedding dress to Busy Bee before the wedding to have it steamed only and it came out fine. It was a brand new, very expensive, Italian silk, designer gown. I brought it back after the wedding to have it cleaned and pressed. When I got it back, it looked like it had been washed in a washing machine. The fabric had creases and what looked like dry cleaning solution or water stains ALL over it. It looks terrible and un-wearable or un-sellable at this point. I took it back to have them look at it and let me know if they could fix it by steaming it again (not dry cleaning it again - I asked specifically not to dry clean it again). The older man that I spoke to was obviously uncomfortable with the situation and told me that "sometimes that happens" in the process. I asked him if he'd seen something like that on a wedding dress after he cleaned before and he said yes. I said it didn't look like this when I brought it in (it was brand new) and he scoffed and sarcastically replied "of course it didn't". Are you kidding me? Who does that. Where is the customer service here, or how about just some respect? I got a second option on the dress from the dress shop and alterations lady and she said, "to be honest, they ruined it". They ruined it. My WEDDING DRESS. This is unacceptable. I took it back to give them the chance to fix it. They called today and told me it was ready to be picked up then the "manager" Shawn proceeded to threaten me to take my review down or he wouldn't finish pressing it. He told me that I was welcome to come pick my dress up and in the meantime it was "lying crumpled on the floor in a bag". I realized at this point this Shawn was unreasonable and a crazy person. Then he hung up on me. I tried to call back and he hung up again on me. This was the most unprofessional reaction I think I've ever experienced. These guys are quacks and they don't care about you or your garment so don't bother bringing anything here. I could go on and on about all the ridiculously shocking and unprofessional things they said to me but I think you get the idea.
A wedding dress is not only expensive but a very emotional item to a bride and to have it ruined absolutely breaks my heart and make me sick to my stomach. My advice would be to avoid Busy Bee for your wedding dress anything at all costs and take it to someone who is reputable and recommended by the local dress shops and alteration shops. I took a chance on this local business instead of listening to contrary advice and it's proven to be a very painful mistake.
And PS Shawn since I already know you're sleuthing these reviews READ the damn label next time. It's SILK not polyester - any good dry cleaner would have known that from one look.

PLEASE, take the time to read my lengthy review!

My wife and I took her beautiful, $2,000 italian silk dress to BusyBee to be cleaned after our wedding. Shawn, the owner assured us he knew how to handle fine fabrics like this, and would take utmost care. When we got it back, my wife noticed that the gorgeous, smooth, white italian silk had splotches on it. The smooth fabric felt hard, almost brittle, and there were hard creases throughout. The inside of the dress was frayed, and the buttons and fine beading was burnt, broken off and ruined. It looked like this dress had been put in a washer and had gotten wet!

We took it to get a second opinion from the place that sold the dress. The woman was very kind, but said, "do you want me to be honest? They've ruined it."

My wife went back to show them what they had done and asked what happened. The man at the counter was rude to my wife, stating that, "well sometimes that happens.", and claimed the dress was ??polyester?. WHAT?! It says SILK right on the inside!

THEN, we talked to multiple other professional cleaners. We took the dress to them, and told them who had cleaned it. They were VERY aware of BusyBee and their horrible customer . They said they had many, many customers that came to them after similar experiences, and said that BusyBee is not a place they would EVER recommend.

LET ME MAKE MYSELF PERFECTLY CLEAR TO THE WORLD:

Do NOT, EVER, use Busy Bee. Whether its a $10 shirt or a $2000 dress, their poor customer service is only eclipsed by their gross incompetency in my opinion.

For the rest of you, my recommendation is to STAY AWAY. There isn't a shirt in Goodwill worth taking to this place and risking them running it.

One last thing: READ REVIEWS FIRST. ALWAYS. And call the BBB before you ever do business with a company like this.

I have gone to Busy Bee for 4 years. Recently, literally all of my pants started coming back with a double crease. I'd take them back, they'd repress them, but it didn't stop happening and no one seemed to want to take accountability and fix the issue. I picked up my usual weekly 30 dollar order today and both buttons on a suit jacket were pulverized. I called and explained the issue. I was rushed off the phone by the "manager" and told that I could come in for a refund, which I did. When I arrived, the "manager" didn't say anything or really even look up. I asked if I could have my buttons replaced and he told me that I had the option of a refund or replacement buttons, which would take a week. His attitude was disinterested, nonchalant and indifferent. I looked at him blankly and and asked if there was anyone around who cared about the business. Still no eye contact while he confirmed that no one is around who cares about the business. So, I asked for the name of the older man who is around sometimes and at least acts concerned when something isn't right. This "manager" told me that he didn't know his name. You don't know the name of the people you work with? Right. When I pointed out that he hadn't even apologized, again without looking up and super polished with attitude this time, he mockingly uttered a sarcastic "sorry." Yeah, me too...for the guy who owns this business that you're ruining.

Have been going here for a couple years - but in the last 6 months things have really gone down hill. First problem was that clothes were not ready when promised. Second was attitude of manager when dealing with me - "what do you want me to do about it?". He couldn't manage to simply apologize - just kept blaming the employee who gave me the date. No customer service skills whatsoever. Third incident was last week - brought home my newly cleaned down-comforter and dicovered it had a tear in it. It was clearly damaged by Busy Bee - then the area around the tear was wadded together and pinned. Forget about anyone admitting the damage or offering to repair it - they just grabbed my money and let me walk out the door. I will never go here again.

The first week of August I took 4 sets of 20 year old drapries to be cleaned at Busy Bee Cleaners.10 days later when I went back to pick them up I was told by the guy there would be no charge as they had a" problem" and they "look like cr*p". The backing on the drapes had been stuck together and when the drapes dried and were opened up the backing came off .
They had to be replaced.
Unfortunately I also dropped off my wifes black short sleeved shirt to be cleaned . When I went back a week later ,he can't find the shirt.Sorry. He takes my name and says they'll call me.
Nothing.
I go back again to deal with/complain to another clerk on the weekend .I give her my name and she mentions the drapries are still in the computer.I recount the ruined drapes story and ask her to please find the shirt. No luck finding the shirt.,and she wants to put my name again in the spiral notebook ,and I'm told she'll talk to the new owner about it and he'll call me .
Nothing.

WTF??? This used to be a good local business.
I'll never go back and hope to spare others the angst of lost or damaged items.

Rating? a zero not a 1 (you can't leave a zero)

I'm considering small claims court next.

It is fairly obvious that these reviews are written by agents of the people at Busy Bee Cleaners! If one examines these reviews the pattern emerges where a product (e.g. wedding dresses), or a service (e.g. pick up and delivery!) is melded perfectly with a location. That is, what honest reviewer says ??Busy Bee ON FOSTER?. Totally unbelievable, and truly diminishes the validity of this site.

BusyBee cleaners has a friendly staff that help problems. I had a stain on my dress they were able to get out, while other cleaners could not. Their prices are extremely reasonable while their quality is second to none. I am new to Portland and they were able to do a lot of items besides the basic shirt. They preserved my wife's wedding dress in an awesome gold display case, cleaned my king sized down comforter when my cat peed all over it, and they even cleaned my pleated drapes. They can do same day service, which most other cleaners in the area do not offer. I would recommend this cleaners to anyone in the area!

I just received my very first dry cleaning order at my door!!! And it looks awesome, I didn't know such services existed but, since my friend told me about BusyBee Cleaners I thought I should try it. Their prices are great, they come Tues/ Thur every week and I've decided to use their electronic billing option too.

Definitely would recommend this service to anymore interested in saving both time and money on dry cleaning and laundry.

My whole family has been using this Dry Cleaners for years it seems; it's just part of our weekly routine now. They have always been very polite, and friendly (including the new owner, who is usually there when I drop off my clothes). My clothes always come out beautifully pressed and clean. I have even brought in things I feared the stains would never come out, and somehow they do it. I even trusted them with my wedding dress, which has been passed down through the generations. They seem to be very detail oriented, and make sure that you do not just feel like another face walking through the door....In my opinion, they're the best in town.

I use to go to a cleaners that was just down the street from my house. I had gone there for years. When picking up an order one day, I discovered a huge black spot on one of my dress shirts that hadn't been there before. When I brought this to their attention, not only did they deny it was their fault, but they refused to pay for the damages. Needless to say, I found myself a new dry cleaners. Not only did Busy Bee provide wonderful and friendly service, but they were also able to get out the unknown black stain. I would recommend Busy Bee to anyone looking for a good, friendly, and honest cleaners!

I've been a customer of busybee cleaners for about 5 yrs and have always received fabulous service from them. I take my clothes in about twice a week as I wear a suit and tie everyday. Their prices are competitive and they are located in an easy drive in location just off of Foster. Looks a little bit old on the outside but, service is first class. I wouldn't take my cloths anywhere else in town.

This used to be one of the best cleaners in SE Portland. I dropped my clothes off every week for 3 years. The old owner and employees were always unfailingly friendly, and willing to help. (they even stitched up my dogs leash for free when he'd chewed through it. Nice folks. )
The new owner on the other hand, is surly, unfriendly, and flat out rude.
Not only did he deny having any of my clothes for pickup, but when I finally got him to check the racks, he found some of them. When I told him that wasnt all my clothing, he came unglued and almost threw them at me. He began using extreme profanity which I could not print here. Suffice to say, most of what he had to say was heavily peppered with the most abusive forms of profanity, including multiple uses of the "F" word.
I dont bring my things to a cleaner to be lost, because of incompetance. or a lack of attention to detail. Further, I do not expect to be sworn at for pointing out that I have not gotten my order back, in full.
Gets a 0 rating, and not a bit more of my (or any of my aquaintances) business, EVER.

Pros: Good location. Have delivery and pickup service.

Cons: Lose clothing. Expensive. Owner has issues: swearing at customers.
