In Short
Most of the dresses here are traditional ivory and whites, with minimal beadwork or lace. Lower-priced dresses include styles from Jessica McClintock, Monique, and Casablanca. The fresh-yet-trendy designs of Alfred Angelo won't bust the bank or make bridesmaids cringe. And with more than 30 designers and 500 dresses in the store, there's a dress for every shape and budget.

The Inside Scoop

  1. With Reservation - Since certain dresses must be special ordered, be sure to give yourself enough time for your first and final fittings.
  2. The Extras - Two doors down from the ladies' boutique is the men's attendant section, with Perry Ellis, Ralph Lauren and Demetrios.

by Kayla O.

Awful customer service! We were not greeted on arrival, never asked if we had an appointment and we did! Never helped try anything on. We got so upset that we just left! Never have we experienced such awful service anywhere! I cant believe they are still in business after reading all the reviews and having had the same experience! Word of advice...DON'T SHOP AT TOWER!

Aweful place!!

by alexis j.

This place is really terrible. The dresses are really over priced and most are really tacky. The sales associates and the owner are very rude. They work on appointment only like most Bridal boutiques, so if you don't have an appointment expect rude and passive aggressive treatment. If you do have an appointment I suggest canceling it and go to Rosewood Bridal instead. Tey are lovely!!!

lacking customer service

by Alyxa S.

Customer service is terrible. 4wk rush fee doesn't mean 4wk delivery. Means dress will be in by your wear date 10 wks out or more. Very rude employees and no communication. You have to call them to get information. But make sure you get your dress the day it comes in or they will be ruse about it. Picked it up two days after it arrived. When I asked to be reimbersed the rush fee answer "no she got the dress" It was only $25. Really you couldn't afford $25 to make a customer happy??

Great selection of dresses!

by Wendy D. | insider Insider | Rank: 16,427

Tower Bridal has a wonderful selection of beautiful dresses and many, many of them are clearance for only $99. The only negative was that, although our salesperson was very nice, she was not at all knowledgable or helpful. Probably if we had asked for more help, we would have gotten someone with more experience.

Give it a try

by Anonymous

My wedding is upcoming in august and I had been spending extensive efforts trying to find the specific color of blue.. Tower bridal carries a collection called Dessy that has over 90 dresses in dresses to choose from that come in that color! Nowhere else that I have found has such an amazing selection that can all be viewed on-line at the dessy website. I was ecstatic to find a distributor so close to home. I went into the store to see the color swatch in person...(don't order a color based on what it looks like on the website; it won't match no matter what site you look at) and the sales person came right up to me, and was more than helpful in showing me the fabric, and answering all of my questions. i will be ordering my bridesmaid dresses there soon!

Dont shop here

by Lisa B. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,708

I will never ever recommend this place to anyone. When I went here looking for a dress they were nothing but rude to me. I didnt have a crap load of money to spend which can become a problem when looking at dresses. Some bridal shops dont like dealing with people on a budget and this is definately one. The location is good but can be a problem getting to it if your driving.

Nice selection of dresses

by Anne S. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,682

This store has been around for quite a while and has an impressive collection of dresses in all sizes, styles and price ranges. It does not have the luxurious feel of stores such as Tres Fabu, but it also does not have the high prices as those types of stores either.

The staff is helpful, although they do seem a bit hurried, more so than at other stores. The space is small and their inventory is large, so you have to push aside a few more dresses to find what you are looking for, but you can definitely find better deals here than at some other places, so it is worth the effort.

pretty good experience overall

by emily44

I just signed up to write this review because its hard to tell how many of these reviews are actually from real customers. It seems like competing bridal stores are maybe writing the terrible reviews, and that Tower's own staff are writing the perfect reviews--no real middle ground. Anyway, I had a pretty good experience at Tower Bridal.

The first time I went in without an appointment, and the sales girl was actually very friendly and was able to help me. I was able to look through the selection myself and grab dresses I liked. The sales girl was patient and not too pushy, which was nice. I ended up loving two of the dresses and decided to come back later after thinking the decision over.

When I went back to buy the dress, the experience was not as great. I came in with my mom and sister a half hour before they closed and a different sales girl did not even say 'hello' before immediately telling me that they were closing soon. She changed her rude tone once I let her know I just planned on buying a dress.

My sister wanted to try on a few bridesmaid dresses, and we were told that we had plenty of time. But then an older saleslady (maybe owner?) came over while she was trying on dresses to tell us that they had a policy about not letting customers try on dresses 15 minutes to closing time or something like that. She was super rude about it (and the salesgirl had said we had time), and I so I told my sister we would take the rest of our business elsewhere. The owner tried to back track a little then.

We had already bought my wedding dress before the owner turned bitchy, otherwise I would have bought it somewhere else. The dress actually ended up coming in about 2 months early, which was great. Overall, the experience was very good---too bad the owner made such a terrible impression.

Pros: nice selection, decent prices

Cons: rude owner

Why make an appointment???

by porter88

I actually joined just so I could write this review, since it was going to be a trek to get to pdx for dress shopping figured I would read the reviews to get an idea of what to expect at the places I made appointments. The reviews for tower were spot on. I walked in there for my appointment to a luke warm greeting - when making my appointment over the phone I had specifically requested a dress by designer/style number which they assured me they had - after much fuss and being told my number was incorrect my mom/I found it in the catalog listed under the style number I gave them. Once this fiasco was resolved we sorted through the gowns to find the dress there was the confusion of what room I was too use. Once we got settled I had came prepared with photos of the dress styles I was looking for...instead of going to get gowns that matched my preference I was told to look through the racks to find 4 more gowns I liked....hmmmm, I don't know their inventory and the dresses are in bags crammed together how am I suppose to tell. Why make an appointment if I am going to sort through dresses anyway. Needless to say I picked my 4 and called it good. I did actually find one that I liked and asked about lead times - since my wedding is in 4.5 months I knew I would need to rush any dress I ordered and was well versed in the designers cutoff dates and made my deadline clear when making my appointment. When asked she said all designers had a 5 month lead time and the soonest I could get my dress was 4 months? Granted she was new but you know what newbies should be placed with a more experienced sales person until they learn the ropes. Since I was determined to order my dress this weekend I was ready to buy I ended up purchasing my dress at Charolettes where the girl brought me 25+ dresses until we found the perfect one - we made bunch of changes to the dress and added a rush it will be here in 3 months. Things can happen but the professionalism I experienced at Charlottes gave me the faith my dress will arrived as ordered on or close to the date they quoted...I could not say the same to Tower.

Pros: gowns were ...

Cons: inexperienced staff....

AWEFUL ESTABLISHENT

by ajack8

We walked in without an appointment knowing that we may or may not be assisted in our bridal gown purchas. Just browsing a bit. The sales assoicitates were very very rude and passive aggressive towards us. Apparently if you don't have an appointment they trat you like a theif in their store. basically heckling you about "requiring appointments" until finally you submit and in our case just leave to get away from the craziness!!
the dresses were really over priced with a very limited selection. We went to Rosewood Bridal in Tigard. No appointment needed. Fantastic selection and prices. and i bought a dress!!!

Pros: none

Cons: rude, passive agressive, pricey, lack of selection.

What happened to customer service???

by lexadawn

Tower Bridal looked like a respectable place to check out for my co-worker who was in need of a bridesmaid dress for her sisters wedding . We went in and found a wonderful dress that was just the right color. The Lady working there seemed nice. She took my friends measurements and then gave her a size chart to pick the size she would like ordered. We asked her for a recommendation which dress should be ordered as her measurements crossed different sizes. Her response "Whatever size you think you are I can't tell you that" We both thought that was an odd comment but figured maybe she didn't want to recommend a size in case it ended up not fitting. Don't know?? Anyway we went to the shop 9/9 to order a dress for 11/20 thinking 10 weeks should be plenty of time. No, the store clerk said that a rush fee would have to be paid to get the dress on time. My friend oppted for a 4week rush fee so that her sister would be able to see the dress when she was in town at the end of october. The dress didn't show and there was no communication to my friend of when the dress would arrive. She called the dress shop...who informed her that the wear date was 11/20 and the dress would be in by 11/20. When asked why she paid the rush fee of 4 weeks the lady rudely told her "to make sure the dress was in by 11/20". 4wks rush fee for a 10 week delivery, strange. Finally she was able to talk them into overnighting the dress from Chicago(even though is supposedly comes from China) so that she would have time for alterations if need prior to the wedding. The dress came in on Tuesday the shop called my friend and told her to come pick up her dress "immediately". I went and picked it up for her. I spoke with the lady at the shop and inquired about reimbersing the rush fee because of the issues, she said "well she got her dress" No rush fees were reimbersed. Don't go here, very rude indeed. Rush fee $25...really would $25 have ruined the business to keep a customer happy?

Pros: good selection to chose from

Cons: terrible customer service. Why be so rude?

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!! Do not go here!

by krowe2008

I ordered my wedding shoes from here and have not had one positive experience yet. The wedding is in 2 weeks and the shoes are still not here. Here's the story: I found the shoes 3 months ago and ordered them, they came in and were way too big, not a big deal- they were going to order the next 2 half sizes down so I could actually try them both on. 2 months after that (1 1/2 months before the wedding) I called to see if the shoes were in, they said that they would order them and had forgot. Fast forward to now- I called to see if they were in and to my surprise (or no surprise) they are still not in and were actually never ordered. The lady that I talked to (Linda) was horribly rude, kept making me feel like I had done something wrong and treated me like I was 5. The shoes are already paid for and I have been nothing but professional with them. Linda said that they were going to be ordered on Monday and overnighted by Tuesday (we are leaving for the destination wedding on Thursday.....). I cannot believe the lack of communication between employees at this store. These shoes better be the most amazing ever for the mess that I had to go through to get them!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE!

Pros: not any

Cons: Worst service, lack of communication between staff, Extremely rude

heed the advice

by Jeni714

I went there today for an alterations appointment. Sparing the details I was told that I would be charged one price and asked the sales clerk if this was in fact what I was being charged. I was treated with such a combative, patronizing, argumentative response I was blown away. I later found out this was the owner. She refused to give me her name, she lied and said the owner was not in, she called and told me to pick up my dress and they were not going to alter it. I was only asking a question about the pricing. I was very calm and respectful and deserved that same respect in return, as a customer and as a person. Money was not the issue, clarity was. But none of that should matter. I am highly disappointed. I cannot believe this store is still popular despite the negative reviews and the negative word of mouth. A local business should not function this way and we should not continue to support them. My first few experiences there were okay depending on one employee. If she was there I was treating with wonderful service. However today was one of the most horrific shopping experiences to date. With all of the small business owners in Portland this one does not deserve our money. I want to warn any bride from shopping here. It will only make what should be a wonderful experience horrible...depending on the day you visit of course. So why chance it...give your money to someone who works for it..consistently.

It really is that bad

by minpin25

To preface, I had not heard good nor bad about this place prior to our visit. My friend (the bride) and I went to check out bridesmaids dresses. The first girl I talked to on the phone was very friendly. But I was surprised by the attitude I got by a second (older) lady when I called back to make an appointment. We knew right away who it was once we got to the store, and we also figured out that the rudeness wasn't a one time deal. By reading the other reviews, I'm guessing she must be the owner. She asked me if I wanted a strapless bra to try on with the dresses. When I told her my size, she responded "You're on your own. We don't carry that size." Then she disappeared to only sporadically come back and help us with the dresses. At one point, she even accused me of wearing the dress incorrectly because it hung on me funny (it couldn't possibly be that the samples are 12 sizes bigger than what I wear). It's shocking that a place like this manages to stay in business in such a competitive industry.

Worst place ever

by soontobemrs

I visited this store last October to buy my bridesmaid dress. The blonde lady who sized me was very unfriendly and cold. It made it a very awkward experience. After measuring me, she asked me if I was going to "gain any more weight?" I thought that was an awfully rude question. I know that they want to make sure girls will fit in their dress, but there is a more polite way of asking, and I am not overweight either! Anyways, I told her that I was getting married soon also, so if anything I would be losing weight. She replied with, "Oh, so your friend here is getting married, and you thought it looked like fun too?" I was actually engaged first, I wanted to call the manager or be rude to this crazy lady, but I kept my mouth shut bc I wanted to be a good bridesmaid. Anyways, she insisted that I buy a size bigger than I normally am. Since I knew I was only wearing the dress once anyways, I said sure, whatever. Turns out I was right and the dress was too big. I think they were hoping they would get my money to alter it, but I took it elsewhere. The dresses arrived about 3 weeks before the wedding in the wrong shade of pink. I actually didn't know this until the bride informed me after she got back from her honeymoon. She was really upset about it at the time, but luckily the color looked fine with the rest of her colors. I was just shocked by the service at this place, especially since they knew I was engaged and a possible future customer. I did not buy my wedding dress here and will not have my bridesmaids get their dresses here. I would not recommend this place to anyone, unless they enjoy being insulted by a crazy lady.

Pros: nicely priced variety of bridesmaid dresses

Cons: crazy rude sales lady, wrong color dresses, pushy and then wrong about sizing

Best Bridal Shop in Portland

by shannakt77

After having a horrible experience at another bridal shop in town, I was recommended to go to Tower. I was in a time crunch for my destination wedding and had two weeks to get a dress so I could get it altered and on a plane. I had orderd my dress at the other shop 7 months ahead of time and they took my money and never ordered it!! I arrived at Tower bridal by myself, there were two wedding parties being waited on, and I was given just as much attention as they were. The staff was very understanding and apologetic for my situation at the other shop. The owner was a total sweetheart. She found the exact same dress and she ordered my dress and it was there in 7 days. It took one day to alter, basically cut off the train so I wouldn't drag it around the beach. She made me a very happy bride. I felt like I was at a relatives store. She gave me a big hug and wished me the best. I had a simple wedding, barefoot on the beach in Hawaii and my dress was perfect. I couldn't recommend this store enough.

Pros: Excellent store, amazing customer service, great selection

Cons: none

Tower Bridal is Dazzling

by sassysuzy

Please don't believe the negative reviews that are posted on this site and no I am not affiliated with any bridal shop or in the business. Give this shop a try especially if you are interested in buying last years styles. Great prices and very beautiful and quality gowns for your special day.
I am getting married in July and bought my dress at Tower Bridal for only $99! I was amazed by the extremely helpful service and how beautiful they made me feel. I really can't believe the other reviews because I had a wonderful experience picking out my dress. Trying them on by myself for 4 hours and leaving right before they closed. I didn't feel pressured in anyway to leave or to buy a dress for full price. I also ordered my bridesmaid dresses there and got a confirmation and estimated arrival date for them. I didn't need an appointment for trying on bridesmaid dresses either. I feel like they are a great location to check out. However, maybe the "Bridezilla's" might want to check out a different shop.

Pros: Great prices on the sample sale gowns, employees are nice and patient.

Cons: John's Landing is a bit outdated, but worth it to visit.

HORRIBLE DRESS SHOP!

by nhonzel1

Ok - I am not an employee of a dress shop nor am I affliliated with the wedding biz at all but I must say that Tower Bridal is a total nightmare store and if you decide to get your wedding dress here you are definitely taking your chances. My sister purchased her dress here and after she paid she received the worst service imaginable. So much so that all the bridesmaids got their/our dresses from Charlotte's in Beaverton. And I second the comments on the owner - she is an absolute wretch of a business owner. Rude, indignant, passive aggressive and surly! I don't like the fact that people in the biz need to write fake reviews just to earn their own business but the negative reviews for this shop are spot on.

Cons: Too many to list - Read Previous Reviews, pretty much says it all

I agree with MissBliss28

by Sucku

I've never been to Tower Bridal, but I would most def not take ANY advice from "MissMel5". She does work for Tres Fabu. She has several names on Citysearch (most of which are used only one time to review Tres Fabu). If you haven't noticed, she likes to insult people's appearance ("Harry Potter Glasses", "Bad Hair"). She is an immature TWIT that does not belong working with brides. The fact that she is still working for TF makes it appear that she is just as dishonest as her employer. Either way, try Tower Bridal out for yourself, and don't take any advice from the know-it-alls that give glowing positives to TF.

check it out

by missbliss28

MissMel5 works for tres Fabu and was paid to write a negative review for Tower. Don't listen to it. She also was paid to write a fake positive review for T.F. (which I can tell you absolutely hits rock bottom). Everything she said about Tower was ACTUALLY true of her place of employment, which is why she found it so easy to write the review.

In all honesty, I haven't been to Tower, but if someone who works at TF hates it, then I'm sure it's good., because I HAVE been to the other store and had AWFUL experiences there. I'm STILL trying to get my money back from them after they defaulted on delivering my dress 5 months after it was promised to me.
Check out Tower and make up your own mind.

If possible I would give this place -5 stars!

by MissMel5

One word, Awful! I was in a wedding this last summer. We ordered our bridesmaids dresses there, the biggest mistake of our lives. Thy first of all ordered our dresses extremely late. When they arrived at the store they called to let us know they were is. The brides mother went to pick up the brides younger sisters dress and found that they had been ordered in a completely wrong color and that was only three weeks before the wedding. Instead of automatically correcting the huge mistake, they tried to talk the bride into changing her coors to the color of the dress they mistakenly ordered. When she couldn't be convinced and her Fiance went in and dealt with the owner, they finally sent them back to New York to be "fixed" We received the dresses, which had been pulled apart and put back together in the most unprofessional way, one week before the wedding. We had one week to get them fitted and Tower Bridal threw us to the wolves in the height of wedding season. They told us they were too busy to help us with the alterations, but hoped we could find someone else to get them to fit us correctly. In the end I was at tower bridal with my friends, the bride, and she was in tears over the whole situation, the owner with the harry potter glasses, gave us 10% off of the original price of the dresses. They were incredibly rude and so very unprofessional. I will never step foot into that sham of a bridal store ever again, and I suggest any future bride that reads this, does the same. Tower Bridal is Terrible!

Pros: Absolutely NOTHING

Cons: My entire Tower Bridal Experience.

Best Bridal Shop in Portland

by JenLee1980

So I just read all the reviews in here and really think they are a scam by another well known bridal botique that has terrible service. I went to Bridal Tower and the ladies there have been nothing but helpful. Amazing actually. I have been to over 23 Bridal shops and this is honestly the best one. They don't push you. They let you look at all their dresses freely. They give you ideas on shoes, veils, etc. The owner is extremely sweet. Maybe some of these people went in with a bad attitude....ordered their dresses to late....etc. The ladies gave me my time line on when things needed to be ordered. Measured me and all of my friends. The seamstress they have is amazing. I would honestly recommend to all the intelligent brides who know what they are doing to give this shop a try. I found my dream dress here and am proud to say I bought it from this store.

Pros: Everything!

Cons: The people writing terrible things about this store.

Great experience!!!

by sabrinafair

I almost didn't go here because of the bad reviews, but I have a friend who went in just to look at dresses (without an appointment or intent to buy that day) who had a great experience so I figured it couldn't hurt to check out. I went there with my mom in November, and thought they had a great selection and loved that they allowed me to go through the dresses myself (some don't) and didn't follow me around but were still available, they also have the dresses organized by style which is great because I didn't have to dig through piles of tulle for the dress I wanted. They also helped me in and out of the dresses, helped with accessories to envision it all better, offered opinions on what worked on my body, and allowed me to take photos and my time.

I was actually torn between one $1300 dress and one from the sale dresses that was (get this) marked down from $1100 to $99 (just because it was from last season!!!) and they didn't push me to spend more which I loved.

I had an amazing experience here... and I have to wonder if the bad reviews are from the competitor shops??

Pros: Great service, wide selection, amazing sales

Cons: Outdated interior which lacked style

Worst Bridal Shop

by tiny630

This shop was the fifth that I went to and they were so rude I couldn't even believe it. I told them when I walked in that I was just there to look and didn't have an appointment, which you need to try on dresses. They acted like I was bothering them, even though they were empty. They told me that because I didn't have appointment I couldn't try on dresses, which was fine with me, then after I got done looking about 5 minutes later because of their lack of selection, they were all talking about how another bride and how she acted like HER wedding dress was all about her! Isn't the dress all about what the BRIDE wants? After I heard that I just left, a bridal shop that doesn't think the wedding dress is all about the bride is not a good place to go to!

Pros: All bridesmaid dresses are nicely spread out with all the color choices next to them!

Cons: EVEYRTHING EXCEPT THE BRIDESMAIDS DRESS SETUP!

This Store Should be Shut Down!

by nhonzel

There is a reason there are so many bad reviews - this place is HORRIBLE!!! The owner is so rude and the rest of her staff is indifferent to what a bride's needs and concerns are. I would NEVER order a dress from these people. Our order was screwed up as well and the owner was talking behind my back to another "customer" or so she thought.....too bad it was my Maid of Honor! When confronted she was still a B-word. They also have poor history with the site that "patrols" good and bad businesses (citysearch won't allow me to mention it here) but I am sure you folks can figure it out....

Husband writing a review, now you know its bad when the husband chimes in!!

by crf250star

I warned my wife after reading the reviews on this site about tower bridal. Even though they had the dresses she wanted for her brides maids. I was involved in some of the fitments because my sister was in the wedding. I offered to pay for her dress so I tagged along. I personally did not like the snobby atmosphere, or the feeling like you were bothering them when asking questions. My wife wanted me to look at the tuxedo's they offered. After being in there for about 5 minutes I wanted out. The service is horrible. I felt absolutely no enthusiasm from any of the employee's during any of the fittings. We ran into issues throughout the process where my soon to be wife finally admitted to this being a big mistake. The dresses were 3 weeks late, and when they arrived, the maid of honors dress was the wrong color. The wedding party ordered their dresses 3 months prior to this, and they were still about a month late. We had the receipt showing the color ordered, they strait up told us it was our fault, . My wife and her sister , who was the maid of honor called and argued with them on a few occasions. I was blown away at how fast they were to blame other people and not take action on their own faults. After showing them the receipt they were going to rush order a new dress in the correct color. This was 4 weeks before the wedding, they told us they would have the dress to us in one week. The dress did not actually arrive until the Friday before the wedding. My wife and her sister had many phone conversations with the employees who would not help at all. They kept saying that the manager would have to call them, which never happened. My wife got so upset on the phone, they offered a discount on alterations, a discount? why would they charge us after the dress has been late now by two months one day before the wedding. My soon to be sister had to get them done elsewhere! A warning for husbands, do your best to talk your soon to be wife out of doing business here!

Pros: They have the goods

Cons: They treat you like dirt.

Pretty Woman -- BIG mistake

by tarapdxheart

I went to Tower Bridal to try on the bridesmaid dress my sister had chosen -- she's in Chicago, I'm in Portland, and I had to find a bridal store that carried the dress she chose. I'm a petite, clean-cut, normal 30 y.o. female -- causasian, if that matters -- and the moment I walked into the store the two old bitties who worked there treated me like I was a dirty street person who stumbled in off the street. They didn't quite say "maybe you'd be better off shopping somewhere else" but they might as well have. I explained why I was there, I had the product number for the bridesmaid dress, and having studied a photo of it, I knew it when I saw it. I found the dress, and the old hag body-blocked me from entering the changing room. She came up with many reasons why they wouldn't be able to help me (the dresses need to be ordered at the same time, to be in the same dye lot, I know that, but I just want to try it on to know what size). They clearly didn't want me to touch anything in the store. I was baffled, then angered. Eventually I got into a changing room and the main hag stood outside the wood-slat door (basically could see in) asking questions the whole time, as if I was not to be trusted in the dressing room!! So, I decided to turn the tables and stay in the store for an excessive amount of time, chatting up a storm with these two old witches!! Who's uncomfortable now? I ordered my bridesmaid dress from another store, and --- because I got engaged a month after this happened --- I kind of feel like stopping in one more time to explain about my big, expensive wedding coming up next spring -- and that they made a BIG mistake. HUGE.

Cons: rude, condescending service

Tower of Terror

by stineicus

My experience with this business is a lot like the other people here. Almost identical to a few!

I bought my wedding dress at a wonderful place downtown, but unfortunately they did not carry the bridesmaid dresses I wanted. So, my matron of honor and I went over to Tower to peruse their selection. When we got there, we picked out some dresses (with NO help mind you) and she tried them on. It felt like we were they only ones there! We chose a dress, and needed to order the other two for my bridesmaids. When ordering one for my sister, they told us to go with a size 16 because the sizes run really small. My sister is 120 lbs soaking wet. I made the mistake of assuming that they knew what they were doing. We placed the order and paid extra to RUSH the dresses. My wedding was approaching fast, and I did not want to take any chances. (my two bridesmaids live out of state) With the rush, we would recieve them six weeks before the wedding.

Around the time the dresses should have arrived, I called them. I spoke with the manager who had the nerve to talk nasty about me when I could hear her. (Which was really odd to me since I was very polite to the hag the whole time) She told me that due to the "hurricaine", the dresses would be a week or so late. Excuse me? HURRICAINE? Sure. Okay. So I called the manufacturer of the dresses and asked about the hurricaine. They had no idea what I was talking about. At this point, I was gonna explode. After much hassle and "can do it" attitude of my older sister) I got the dresses 2 weeks before the wedding, and I STILL had to send them to CA. The size 16 they ordered for my sister? It looked like a bedspread on her. It was WAAAAY to big for her. I did not want to deal with the store anymore because 1) I wanted to show my husband to be that he was marrying someone sane, and 2) Because I could not risk a stroke before the wedding.

Do NOT shop here unless you get kicks from high stress situations. They will put you in therapy!!

Pros: They are next to Cost Plus and Postal Annex.

Cons: Everything else.

PLEASE PLEASE LISTEN TO THESE REVIEWS

by constrgal

This bridal shop has no business being in business. They are so awful, especially the owner who treats people like garbage. She makes rude comments to her customers and makes comments behind their backs. The rest of the girls working there seem too timid to help anyone for fear they'll get yelled at by the owner. There is a certain well known website that patrols "bad" companies and tracks their complaints (Citysearch won't let me mention it here) check it out! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!

Crapville

by weddingtime

So I have been shopping like crazy for a wedding gown. I have been to every shop in Portland and San Francisco practically and Tower is one of two places that I would never go back to. The girl that was supposed to be helping me was very young and nervous. I looked to her to ask a question at one pointed and decided against it since she was busy spacing off and chewing on her hands. Once it was time to try on some gowns all she did was unzip them, take them off their hangers and pile them up in my small dressing room. No offer to help me. She just disapeared! My mom and future mother in law could hear me struggling to find my way into some of the dresses and would ask if i was ok. At one point I looked for the girl to help me into a particularly crazy dress and couldnt find her so my mother helped me. That is not what you would expect at a place where they are expecting you to drop a large chunk of money on their services. The whole experience kind of put a damper on my day.

Pros: Parking

Cons: Service, Selection is mediocre, only two mirrors and one is in front of a wall of windows

Excellent selection, great prices, friendly service

by rlbb

I had a great experience buying my wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses at Tower Bridal. They have a huge selection of beautiful wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses at great prices. I thought the sales people were very helpful and honest. My dresses came right when they said they would and needed very little alterations. Go during the week because the weekends are crazy.

Pros: Service, selection, prices

Poor Service, Unqualified, Would not recommend to ANYONE!!!

by pinkangel2k1

As the bride I chose dresses from Tower Bridal (not knowing the place I bought MY dress also sold the same dress). My bridesmaids paid extra for a rush order and received their dresses only 2 1/2 weeks before the wedding (2-4 weeks after we were told they'd be in). The store manager tried to blame ME that the dresses were in so late, saying "Take it up with the bride." One bridesmaid paid extra for additional length-and the designer didn't even offer additional length in her size! (Don't you think the store manager would have known that?!?) Another bridesmaid was made to order a size 18 dress when her normal size was 8-10...now she has a dress that's HUGE for her and we're two weeks before the wedding!!! Do NOT give them your business!!!

Pros: None

Cons: Customer Service, Knowledge of designers/sizing, time to receive product

Worst experience EVER!

by n_parra

Both times I went in there the manager was rude. She did not want to help and seemed to care less if we bought from there or not. On top of the horrible customer service, we had to pay to "rush" our dresses but now it is 2 weeks before the wedding and we just got our dresses. Even though I was measured the dress is way too big and now there is no time to get it altered. What a disaster! I am making sure that everyone I know does not even waste their time going into Tower Bridal. Tower Bridal=DISASTER.

Pros: There are non

Cons: Price, Customer Service, Value

Poor excuse for a bridal shop

by suny15

I went in the other day to look around at dresses. I have heard some postive but mostly negative things about this store but I figured I'd give it a chance. Holy Cow! I wasn't sure if anyone was even working that day or if I would get assistance (it was a weekday too and it was slow!). The selection of dresses is good but if you have questions or concerns, you might as well guess. When I did get assistance I found her to be disinterested and even "bothered" by my prescence, as if I was as nuisance to her. I eventually decided to go somewhere else as it was obvious they had too much going on to help me out.

Poor Customer Service

by hnl121

I would suggest to whoever is running that place, to focus more on your clientele and build a positive business relationship with them. Your job is to cater to one of the most important days in someone's life and the people that work there should embrace that. Service - BAD, BAD, BAD.

Don't Shop Here...

by brittiz

I recently visited Tower Bridal as a member of a wedding party. Wow! I have heard about bridal shop nightmares but it was clearly a reality at this store. The salespeople had limited if any knowledge when questioned about their merchandise and the woman who is supposedly the owner is downright foul and rude. We ended up leaving even though we are in a crunch to order dresses. From what I witnessed in just about an hour, I cannot imagine placing an entire order with these people. Save your time and sanity...go somewhere else!

Apalling service, rude management

by knewt

I cannot believe this place is still in business! We went in to look at dresses and were virtually ignored for almost 25 minutes, even after asking for help. We wanted to know some information about the dresses is the store and asked, I believe it was the owner, some questions but she was so rude and condescending to members of our family. She acted like we were "bothering" her so we decided to just look around by ourselves. One girl in the bridal party then overheard the owner make snide comments about someone in our party! We will never go back there again!

Pros: Not sure there were any

Cons: Too many to list here...

Really Annoying

by early_bp

I had been to Tower Bridal before, and last time, I had a great experience. This time, we went to pick out my sons' tuxedos for prom. They really seemed put out when we asked questions. We couldn't make a decision at that time and had to come back, and the owner was very rude about it. I asked her how much time we had to order the tuxes, and she said, "Well, what do you want me to do? Call the warehouse?" like it was the most ridiculous thing I could have asked for. We left and we won't go back.

Pros: Nice selection, No Appt. Needed

Cons: bad service, higher prices, no tuxes to try on

Not the best service~

by sputzler

I went to Tower based on the recommendation of a friend who had a relatively pleasant experience there. I called ahead and made an appointment and asked if I would need to bring anything with me. When I arrived, I mentioned I was there for an appointment and they looked at me like I was crazy, then suggested I look around. I was completely overwhelmed and needed some assistance. Finally I found 1 or 2 dresses to try on but there was no bra or petticoat to use and was then crammed into a tiny space barely big enough for the dress! I was so frustrated that I just wanted to leave. First impressions are important and they lost my business as soon as I walked in that door due to the poor greeting/service I received.
