Located above the Center for Natural Medicine. HealthQuest's dedicated, Licensed Massage Therapists comprise a group whose talents offer an extensive range of massage techniques. Insurance billing is offered for qualified prescription massage, including auto and work injury. HealthQuest's skin care professionals are skilled in assessing and treating skin care concerns, incorporating customized treatment plans for facials and body treatments.
This is a great spa that offers not only massages but hydrotherapy, and facials. I recommend all three if you want the full spa experience. I went with a couple friends and had a blast.

I have a positive experience each time I visit, regardless of the massage therapist I see, they are all highly skilled. I can usually get in with short notice, and the friendly staff is accommodating. Thank you Health Quest!
Pros: great value, large jacuzzi, steam room, talented LMT

I decided to treat my wife to a day of relaxation. Both of us are larger people 270+ pounds. She said she would go as long as she could research where. She spent hours researching where we would go and found Health Quest was recommend hands down. We got a same day appointment other spa's said sorry we don't do same day appointments. When we finally arrived at our destination we were anxious to get under way. So we traveled up the stairs which was a little challenging for me as i use a cane but , managed okay. We were greeted by a sweet young brunet that was very inclined to helping us get going. Even though we ran late coming from a different city they were very accomadating to our every need. They listened to our specific problems, i have never had someone sit down and listen to my needs, at a massage office i was floored to be treated so well. We then were led to a deep spa tub for the 2 of us surrounded with lit candles . We had plenty enough time to relax before they retrieved us from our tranquil bliss. When we traveled to our seperate rooms i thought well this will be intereseting. But to my relief candles lit, nice aroma therapy, more tranquil music, and the best massage we have ever received in our lives. I simply explained to the therapist she must indeed have magic fingers because its the best we have felt in alot of years..........Thanks to all of the wonderful and friendly staff!!!!!! you really are the best and i plan on beeing back in 2 weeks again.
Pros: Staff was very friendly, engaging, courteous, and attentive
Cons: water too hot, drinking water nasty, bath robes too small

I have had many treatments at HealthQuest. Each and every one of my treatments have been wonderful. From Post car accident theraputic massage to a relaxing couples massage on our wedding anniversary. The staff is also very knowledgeable. This place isnt just about one dimentional "relaxation" but about total body wellness. Great place, wonderful staff, very skilled therapists. Two thumbs way up!
Pros: Very attentive staff and relaxing environment

my doctor is at Center for Natural Medicine, I?ve been going there for years. I recently began acupuncture and massage therapies as well, and in the last year I?ve felt so so SO good! I?ve had visits with both acupuncturists, and several of the massage therapists upstairs. The spa manager is always friendly, puts smelly salts in my tub, and does the legwork when making my appointments, I come out of my massage and she has it all completed for me! Even though I am sometimes there several times in a week, I wish I could go visit EVERY DAY!
Pros: good location, open in evening, purified water, good value

We waited until a few days AFTER valentines day to come in and try the couples treatment. Kristina treated us to a wonderful time, as if it was valentines! She had chocolates for us to take with us, after our long soak in the jacuzzi and great massage! My therapist sat me down before, asked me question and actually listened! She also found places that I didn?t even know needed it, I walked out of there a new person, so relaxed and happy! This was our first visit, based on a friend recommendation, and we have already made plans to go back next week! Thank you, everyone at healthquest, for providing a wonderful atmosphere and amazing experience.
Pros: huge jacuzzi, caring and friendly massage therapist and staff, parking lot
Posted 02/27/09
we booked for valentines, a tub visit and the hour massage after, based on their award for Best Couples Treatment. It certainly is! We had a great experience, a huge tub to relax in and one of the greatest massage I have ever had. we will definitely be back, not just a treat for valentines!
Pros: good location, big relaxing jacuzzi, talented massage staff

Healthquest Spa offers a healing atmosphere with dedicated therapists who are totally into your wellness and well being. From the girl on the phone (who always recognizes my voice) to the practitioners themselves, you get the idea everyone loves what they do.
When I have a rare moment I can call same day and soak in the tub. They add these minerals that smell lovely and really relax your body. I?ve had two facials, and the products they use also smell and feel wonderfully good. The facialist is friendly and creates a relaxing room. The massage. What can I say, it is the most amazing massage I?ve EVER had, and I?ve had many. I see four or five of my favorites at Healthquest, and they are all far superior and advanced to any other in Portland. I walk out feeling taller, refreshed, relaxed, focused. They have this great purified water they make you drink also, and it tastes very good!
Pros: great location, great prices, tub and steam, massage skill

Several Constants At Healthquest: friendly and accommodating, incredible massage skill, huge value for incomparable service! I have become very picky about massage recently, and I cannot see myself going anywhere other than Healthquest. The precision work combined with the attention is not the treatment you normally receive, although you pay quite a bit more! I have my favorite therapists, of course, but every massage I have received at Healthquest has been above all others anywhere. Healthquest, it is you that has made me picky!
Pros: Week-ends and night appointments, easy parking lot, welcoming staff
Posted 11/18/08
I have been a patient here for many many years, because the therapists are unsurpassed. The best massage, most care, friendly and professional.
Pros: best pricing, excellent skill, friendliest staff, close/easy location, parking lot
Cons: NON!

I just had a HUGELY REMARKABLE massage, so much so that I was impelled to write a review and share my extraordinary experience. I have some notable discomfort and past injuries, and I was immediately put at ease with their attentiveness and genuine nature, asking questions before we begin, and then actually listening and focusing on those areas! The level of expertise and ability is huge?you can tell they truly LOVE working in this healing way. Such a strange phenomenon I?m experiencing, giddy and energized and relaxed all the same.
Pros: all is great?price, location, friendly, clean, tranquil
Cons: No hot stone? It is listed on services
Posted 10/09/08
I was so chilly after morning run with m dogs, and it was SO nice to relax in this deep hot tub! That?s all I came in for, just the tub. They added Epson salt which was very nice. I think this will be a standard visit for me, can I bring my dogs? (Ha ha) thank you all Healthquest!

I had a steam, facial, and massage therapy and all of it was very relaxing and rejuvenating! The moment I walked in I was happily greeted, taken care of in a professional manner; they went above and beyond anywhere I have been.
Pros: Clean, exceptional value, parking lot, easy-to-find location

I have been going to Healthquest for years and the atmosphere for the cost can't be beat! The staff are always bright and cheery and make you very comfortable, the linens are crisp and clean and the massage is always incredible.
I have been to other spas and you feel like you are one of many and at Healthquest it feels like you are the one and only!
Pros: low prices, easy to get appointment time, nice people
Cons: need waxing services

Received an amazing massage and although I've had many massages, I've never blurted out after one that I would get on Citysearch to write about it and make a recommendation to treat yourself too. Now that I'm on I can't remember my therapist's name though. Golden or Bean, my memory escapes me but the massage has done it's job. I've recently quit smoking and I'm making every effort to incorporate healing energy and touch into my life and thanks to HealthQuest and The Center for Natural Medicine I've never felt better. The therapist made sure I was comfortable, knew exactly where tight muscles and spots of injury were, thoroughly working out my sore muscles. I can't believe how much better I feel. I've had great success getting in on weekends and was offered a free steam, which I wasn't able to do this time but I'll be back, they gave me a coupon and extended me a free steam/tub offer for my next appointment.
These people are awesome, just don't take my spot. I'm calling to schedule this weekend now!!
Pros: Amazing therapists, great location & price, easy to schedule,
Cons: The interior could match the lovely natural exterior

Healthquest has a holistic feel and provides a very healing environment. There are many great massage therapist and acupuncturist that provide thorough care. Staff is generous and kind in working with patients. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a different type of spa.
Pros: evening times, hygienic, great price
Cons: on busy street

Save your money and seek another place! Maybe "real" spa environment. Go elsewhere. If you are expecting an attentive, quiet, peaceful and healing experience you will be disappointed. Upon my arrival no one was available to help me. I waited quite a few minutes expecting someone to appear. I could hear loud talking and laughter around the corner so after quite a few minutes of waiting I followed the loud talk down a hall to a balcony which was above what looked like a clinic or another office. Down there were a large assortment of people behind the desk and they were talking and everyone was so engrossed in themselves and each other that it was as if there wasn't even a clinic or a spa around them!!! I was almost afraid to interrupt the "fun". Behind the desk was their own little world and nothing else existed. Finally I was able to get the attention of someone down below (after calling out and waiving my hands several times) who begrudgingly indicated she'd be right up as she actually appeared irritated and seemed to take her time!!! On top of all this, during my entire massage I listened to people noisily traipsing back and forth, talking loudly with each other and slamming things around with no regard to people trying to enjoy an overly expensive massage. I don't even remember if the masseuse was skilled with everything else going on. The noise, commotion, confusion and negative experience I had will NOT have me returning to this overrated, overpriced and so called "spa" . My hard earned money will be spent elsewhere, trust me. Not so new or clean environment to boot. Who are these other reviewers?! I can't be the only one experiencing this??
Pros: none come to mind
Cons: LACK OF SERVICE & ATTENTION

Healthquest continues to recruit the best massage therapists in the city, it seems. One of my favorites recently moved away, and I just tried someone new. They have their different styles, but each one has truly exceptional skill, it is crazy that much talent is all in one space! The manager is friendly efficient and professional, knows me by voice on the phone and always remembers that I like to use the shower facilities before, and sets up extra towels and water for me in there. Overall I feel well attended to.
Pros: good value, easy parking, close-in location

I have been a client of Healthquest for many years, starting as a patient in the medical clinic seeing a chiropractor and acupuncturist after an auto accident. Part of my therapy and recovery included massage, and I continued to go after my healing (and insurance billing!) were complete. I have seen several therapists, requesting my regulars but going with others when regulars are busy--Each and Every Time I have received excellent work, from highly skilled and professional people. Amazing.
Pros: great value, many skilled therapists, late evening appointments, steam room, parking lot

I received a gift certificate at the holidays, and recently went in to use it; it was for a facial and massage. I asked if I could have a longer massage and use the jacuzzi soak instead, and they were very accomodating--they said I could use the value for whatever I wanted. She asked if I wanted epsom salt in the soak, or some of the other additives they had--I didn't really think those things worked, so she said she would put some in at no charge. I had the muscle therapy soak, and it truly worked! I then had a 90 minute massage from Michelle, which was one of the best massages I have ever had. She asked a few questions, any areas of pain or issues, and she actually listened to me and what I needed. I was extremely impressed, bought a gift certificate for my friend who gave mine, and I plan to go in again very soon! This is going to be a new ritual of maintenance, a necessary gift I give myself!
Pros: excellent value for top service - even with upcoming price increase it is the best value I have seen
Posted 03/25/08
it feels more like a medical clinic, being part of one, more than a "spa"--but they do have actual water treatments, very few "spa" in this area do... I had a relaxing soak in the tub followed by a 90 minute massage that was perfect. a week later I still felt great, feel taller if that is possible!! and I will definitely be back.
Pros: friendly staff, AMAZING therapists, parking lot, good location, clean facility

HealthQuest and their therapists are a huge relief from the pretentious, rude, high-end spas that do not deliver high-end service. Most places I?ve been charge way too much for a disconnected massage therapist that does not listen, hour massages that end after 45-50 minutes, and treatments that are simply not first-rate or good quality. HealthQuest has superior customer service (deal with the spa, not the medical clinic area), and the three therapists and facial technician I regularly see take time before your appointment for an ?intake? of sorts, and THEY ACTUALLY LISTEN to what you say!! Everyone sounds really happy and proud to work there, the atmosphere and ?energy? is positive, yet down to earth and RELAXED.
Posted 01/29/08
I like to receive massage regularly, and I highly recommend the massage therapists at Healthquest. They all have their own unique style and deep tissue as well. I like the energy and personalities of all the therapists. I will continue to go to Healthquest for my massage and hot tub/steam room relaxation. I also love the location and the building and atmosphere!!

each and every therapist here is stellar; I have had many massage in my last 39 years, both for relaxation and for therapeutic reasons. I have had the most comprehensive work done with the LMT staff at Healthquest, precision work that actually heals, and every therapist there knows how to do this, with their own personal style, their own arsenal of skill and mastery of the body and an intense knowledge of a specific pain, and where that pain may originate. I have been given exercises to do on my own to help the process; I have had energy work that is absolutely cosmic and real, and I have been worked with so intensely and deeply that I have to sit and recover before walking down those stairs to my car. treat yourself to the BEST in portland. do it today.

my boyfriend and I went recently for the romance package, which was wonderful : it starts with the jacuzzi tub, big enough for two, the room has candles all over, nice towels, fresh water, aromatherapy in the tub; then a wonderful massage for each... I've been a patient here for years, I see the acupuncturist and get weekly massage. The massage staff has always been highly skilled, and the current group (last year or more) is some of the best massage I've ever had.
Pros: massage therapists with advanced education and total dedication to each patient and their needs
Cons: medical clinic atmosphere, not foufy spa, but that is why the massage is THE BEST. I prefer this to "spa" atmosphere, the other "spas" that have no water--no tubs or sauna. that's a spa??
Posted 01/19/08
High level of experience?the variety of bodywork skills at HealthQuest is quite astounding?they have a group of practitioners that many of us know are among the best in Portland. I have been a patient there for over eight years, and especially in the last two years the quality and level of professionalism + expertise has gone way up! There are several I?ve seen in the past couple months who are completely committed to healing work, they listen, and go beyond expectation.
They have yoga classes taught by a chiropractor, Qigong, meditation, Feldenkrais. A very healing spiritual center.
Pros: Clean facility, professional staff, they know what they are doing !!
Posted 01/17/08
I've been coming to HealthQuest since 1999!! They have a steam room (private, not "community"), private jacuzzi, and AMAZING massage therapists. All of them are fantastic in their own ways. The staff is always friendly and helpful, they have fluffy towels, robe and fresh bottle water waiting for you (they give you large waters for steam visits!), and my appointments are always on time, no problems.
Pros: Easy to find location WITH parking, clean facilities, friendly competent staff, HIGLY SKILLED MASSAGE !
Cons: cannot always get same day visits, sometimes though.

a few weeks ago I called for a jacuzzi + massage, and after my wonderful massage I went to pay and I told her she forgot me tub on the bill, she said no, I ran a special today, so I gave it to you!! she could have charged me because I didn't know about the special. that was great! I was back today and had a massage with Darby. It was exactly what I needed.
Pros: all LMT I've seen have great technique. friendly staff upstairs. convenient location--easy to get to, park and go right in!
Cons: dark hair girl downstairs in the medical office desk was grumpy the other day
Posted 01/16/08
I have been to HealthQuest a handful of times for massage and facials and have never been disappointed. It had been awhile and I was in quite a bit of pain from an old injury. I called and spoke with Kristina and I had told her I needed a deep soft tissue massage. She was able to get me in that day and recommended Aimee and I am so glad she did! Aimee is a highly skilled massage therapist and has great energy. After my 60 minute massage, I was completely pain-free and have been ever since. I will be back.
Pros: Great customer service, convenient hours, comfortable atmosphere, great skin care products
Cons: Could use a remodel

wife and I went for the romance package last week. We showed a little early, so she let us have a longer jacuzzi tub, which was perfect. She added some hyderotherapy stuff that was for muscle rehab and it really worked! Both of our massages were incredible; I have an old shoulder injury that really got much attention, they really knew how to work that out! The level of advanced skill is apparent, and it sounds like every massagist there has exceptional skill. My wife wanted deep work, which she received, but it was also very relaxing, which is sometimes not the case with deep work. She has already rescheduled another visit. I will be back as well!

I am within walking distance, and that is the reason I will not move out of the area !! I am a weekly customer, and have seen many of the therapists. They know me by voice when I call, they know to
schedule me a bit longer in the steam room, and all around I get that taken-care of feeling when people
not only know you, but they are there to really help heal (if that is needed) and really give Top Quality work even if it's just for relaxation. Their philosophy as being part of the Natural Medicine Clinic is to find highly educated practicioners, they all have a vast amount of training and styles, and the result is you can go to most any masage practicioner and their dedication and attention to detail gives you the best massage you will ever have. Many of them talk with you after, giving feedback and I even was taken to the yoga room once to get some stretching exercises! All around the best of everything! thank you all!
Pros: They take late evening appointments!

2000 characters are not nearly enough to describe how wonderful my experience was with HealthQuest. For my husband's birthday I bought us a "romance for two" package--a gift consisting of two 1 hour length massages and a sit in the spa's hot tub. My massage was unreal, the therapist I had succeeded in giving me a thoroughly relaxing experience, while still working out my deeper problem areas. My husband was equally thrilled with his hour of bliss and said it was the best birthday gift he'd ever gotten(it was his first massage). The jaccuzi was also wonderful, the room is a little small--cramped or intimate depending on how you want to look at it. We had robes and glasses of water waiting for us the second we stepped out of the tub, we felt like the hot bubbles had magically transformed us into royalty. With a friendly and accommodating staff, clean and comfortable facilities, and monumentally talented therapists you will be almost assured a great experience with HealthQuest. I wish it was Frank's birthday everyday!
Pros: Skill of therapists, value, servies
Cons: Location on busy road can get noisy
Posted 01/11/08
Healthquest rocks. I have had hundreds of massages in my life and these massage therapists are up there with the best of them. I can get a variety of great types of massage from their practitioners, and they all have lots of experience and great training. I have had really detailed deep tissue work, cosmic relaxation massage and even hot stone massage. Seems like they can do it all there. HIghly recommend it.
Pros: Great Massage, Clean Tub, Great Steam Room too
Cons: Simple Decor, not so much a "con", I like that it's not a Froo-Froo or Shi-Shi place
Posted 01/11/08
My facial was Great (still receiving compliments!) and the steam they recommended before my facial was so relaxing! Very comfortable atmosphere, detailed and expert staff (I have had many massages at HealthQuest over the past 16 years, and every therapist has been highly skilled!). I would not go any place else!!
Pros: I can almost always get an appointment time within a day or two
Cons: last time their parking lot was full, but I found a spot on the street

I?m new to the area and was thrilled to find HealthQuest Day Spa. I?m not a fan of group tub and steams and enjoyed the quiet retreat and privacy of HealthQuest?s accommodations (only enough room for 2) and received free because it was a Sunday when I made my appointment.
I?ve had shoulder/back/neck trouble from an old injury that flared-up and needed to get in somewhere ASAP and was impressed that the staff made extra effort to get me in on my weekend with an amazing massage therapist. I had a tub first, filled fresh for me, thank you ? no chlorine followed by an hour massage($55 ? are you kidding me, what a deal compared to anything in Colorado). The massage therapist had hot packs ready(pleasant surprise) and placed them on my shoulder/back the minute they felt it. They knew immediately how tight I was and that I needed hot packs prior to massage.
The massage therapist just did wonders and I felt like a new person by the time I was done. A variety of techniques were used, I absolutely need trigger point therapy to unlock and find that Myo-Fascial Release is a huge benefit. Believe me, this is the best day spa for real therapeutic treatment that I?ve experienced in a long time. Thank you HealthQuest!
Pros: Great talent and services, great location
Cons: medical office atmosphere - 80's retro style

For months I had enjoyed the wonderful steam and tub services Health Quest has to offer. While I have often thought of massage as a nice stress reliever and quick getaway tactic, I had never thought of it as serious body work.
A couple of months ago, I was talking with the extremely friendly staff about a car accident in which my shoulder was injured. They told me about their personal injury services and recommended I come in to have some work done. I have lived with some intense shoulder pain, compounded by twelve hour days in front of a computer. The injury was just over ten years ago, so you can imagine my disbelief that a few months of "massage" would even make a dent.
MUCH to my surprise, working with one of their specialists, I can honestly say we have reversed much of the damage done and eliminated the pain! Not only did I receive some intense precision body work, but I have been trained to care for my shoulder amidst my busy schedule. Unlike with my previous physician, my injury was explained to me in very clear language, with unparalleled patience.
And unlike with my previous physician, I have achieved real progress. I am learning to treat the wound instead of the pain, and I have stopped using painkillers altogether.
What a concept...
Pros: Caring, healing environment with a world-class, knowledgeable staff.
Cons: The busy intersection can be noisy in the front -- ask for one of the inner treatment rooms.

I have been going to HealthQuest for about a year, and my experience has always been above and beyond?the massage therapists are extremely skilled and thorough, following up with recommendations, stretches and exercises;
My last appointment was with Libby. Her straightforward, friendly approach and her level of knowledge made me feel immediately at ease; she listened to me, and the work she did in one hour was amazing?I felt taller, I felt rejuvenated, I felt GREAT! I will be back.
Pros: affordable treatments, Steam and Jacuzzi !!
Cons: absolutely NONE

I go to Healthquest for yoga, and always stop to have a fun chat with Kristina in the spa?so I booked some appointments! I had a massage and facial, which were both brilliant. The massage therapist was very attentive and knowledgeable, and it was one of the best (thorough, deep but also relaxing!) massages I?ve had. The facial was lovely, the products felt great and smelled amazing, the facial girl was fun and personable. I made a good choice and have already booked more appointments to come back! My next visit includes the hydrotherapy Jacuzzi ? wee!
Pros: clean + comfortable, AMAZING treatments, friendly staff, great prices

I've had a few massages over the past few years. Not a ton, but enough to know good from bad. The therapists I have experienced at HealthQuest are really good at what they do! It isn't your average "fluff and buff" massage - instead they seem to really understand the body and will focus on your problem if you want them to. They let me request my favorite therapist when I schedule. I recommend this place to my friends who are uncomfortable with the sterile repetition of some of the "ritzy" or chain massage businesses, like me. If you like facials, I thought the esthetician was a really nice person and very comfortable to be around.
Pros: Parking available, nice people, fantastic massage and facial, nice clean jacuzzi tub
Cons: Older building
