This was the worst tattoo shop I have ever come across since I've been in Oregon. The artist gave me a complete false sense of security by reassuring me he'd be capable of doing the art work I requested. In the process of me getting my tattoo done I realized that the environment was distracting and unprofessional. The artist was arguing with his significant other WHILE tattooing me. Also, in the middle of the process his gun started having "technical difficulties" and his friends were waiting on him to finish my tattoo so that he could leave. This caused a rushed and half-assed tattoo. I literally feel like I had an experience from Spike's TV show, "Tattoo Nightmares"
The tattoo looks like it was done with a ball point pen, has the appearance of a temporary tattoo, and there is absolutely no depth. This tattoo looks like a master piece from a kindergarten class room. This is coming from someone who has an art background, experience, and THIS WASN'T MY FIRST TATTOO-aka I know what looks "good"-I am disappointed and regret completely ever walking into this shop.
And if I didn't think that the nightmare wasn't over after the shop, within a weeks time I realized that my tattoo had grown to become infected. I proceeded to go back to the shop to talk to the artist about my tattoo. He convinced me that my tattoo was "fine" After being skeptical, I went to the doctors were they told me that it was indeed infected. I am now taking THREE antibiotics a day and having to pay for medical bills.
So, after I went back thinking I would get a full refund for all of the stress the artist put me through, the artist was only wiling to compensate me by "touching up" my tattoo for free once it's healed. At first I agreed but the more I thought about it the more uneasy it made me feel. I went back to the shop and told the artist I didn't want the touch up but rather my money back. It took two separate visits until the artist finally gave in and agreed to only give me half my money back. Even the way my money was given back was unprofessional as he paid me outside of the shop. Almost as if he wanted me to keep my mouth shut. Well, I'm not going to and I'm spreading the word to every tattoo loving person I know or have an acquaintance with. DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP PLEASE!

I had a tattoo done here yesterday done by Denise G. Shes freaking awesome, friendly, funny, TALENTED and makes the whole experience extremely comfortable. My tattoo came out beyond perfect. I've had tattoos done at a few other places but I'll be sure to come back to her. Facility is also clean, no smoke smell like some places, great environment, Everyone there is friendly, down-to-earth and upbeat! **Also will do touch-ups**

It is easy to be overwhelmed when looking at different tattoo artist??s portfolios. These are some easy things to look for when determining if the artist is competent. Are the lines clear and clean? Do the lines end smoothly, and are any points sharp and pointy, not wobbly? If there is black does it appear smooth, even, and dark throughout? If there is color, is it bright, smooth, rich, and consistent, NOT patchy? Do colors blend smoothly into each other where there is soft lighting, and do the edges look crisp where there is high contrast? Good tattoos have contrast to make them stay visible and readable over time. Does the design as a whole flow well with the form of the body? Good tattoos should follow the muscle structure and ??flatter the form.? Is the image understandable and clear, or do you have to ask what it is? Do the edges of the tattoo end in a pleasing way? Or are they ragged and uneven? Would you wear it? Art is, after all, a matter of taste. A portfolio represents an artist??s VERY BEST work. You should never see lines which are scraggly, ??blown-out,? blobbed, colors that are washed out unintentionally or blotchy, or that have any misspelled words. Sometimes artists will have a few pieces that they??re still working on. Make sure that the vast majority of the tattoos are completed pieces. Remember that the portfolio is the BEST the artist can do, so if the work in it is not very good, or not appealing to you, find a different artist! Likewise if an artist frightens you, won't answer questions about the process, or tell you how to be more comfortable, find a different artist. There are many artists who are talented AND considerate of your comfort. Make an informed decision when choosing your body art!
