This place has a very fun and unique vibe. The decor is awesome and the people even cooler. It has a small intimate feel to the place and there is live music at night.

I keep ending up going back to this bar because of the music that plays there which is great. The place is way too small though for the crowds that come when a good band is playing. They have a nice selection of beers for reasonable prices as long as you can jostle your way to the bar to order them. You can't get to the bar or the restroom or anywhere else without triping over people once the place fills up because of the narrow space with tables in the middle of it. But as long as they keep getting good music with low cover prices I'll keep going back.

Pros: Good music, reasonably priced beers

Cons: space is too small

This place kicks a**. - except - you smell like sh*t when you leave. Good bands, great beer, nice staff, and way t00 much stale smoke stank. Good for the bands, but not worth hanging out afterwards because of the stank. Ride your bike so you can air out on the way home after the show, and keep your car fresh.

the laurelthirst is known for its microbrews and live hippie music in the evenings. fine if you are into that. I am not. However, I have discovered that this place has a breakfast as good or better than any other breakfast joint in Portland, except with no WAIT, because people just don't think to go there for breakfast. also they have stumptown coffee and nice waitstaff.

Heard LaurelThirst was cool so we headed there after work with 10-15 people. It is a bit small, but we were there early enough to grab the big corner booth. The place filled up quickly and once the live music started we heard why. The music was great and it was right there in front of us.
The beer choices are great too, and not too spendy. This is a fun place!
Get there early on if you have a big group.

So you have to pay $3 to support some crazy guy with a beard down his belly and hair hanging down his back. Where else are you going to hear dylan, donovan and even garcia done in the best Popeye voice this side of Pocatello? I'm not sure I,ve ever been disappointed in the talent that plays at this smokey little joint. Service, well thats something that doesn't exist. Big deal, if the service was terrific, just imagine how much more packed this place would be. Spill beer on another customer so they won't come back!

Pros: Ol timey music, Good selection on Tap, Restroom Reading

Cons: Loud Conversations, bad pool table, Restroom Reading

After 3 hrs (and > $100 in drinks) the 8 of us were told we could either cough up the $3 each or we could leave, since some local band was about to perform in the main room. We couldn't even hear them - nor did we want to hear them - since we ere in the back room celebrating a friend's birthday.
Such a shame they lost so much business over $24. I felt like I was in San Francisco rather than Portland. That's the last time I will spend any of my hard-earned money there.
