1 Stars: STALE STALE STALE (by rheap)

i have been buying their black and white individual box cake for years, hoping to finally get one that is as delicious as my first experience. either i have had a string of unfortunate luck with their cakes, or the one good cake i did have was an exception and not the rule.

i have bought the same cake at Zupans, New Seasons and Wild Oats. all of which have been hard, dry and stale, with the frosting very hard and stiff. thankfully, the above mentioned retailers have been kind enough to offer me a credit for my purchase, but it would behoove customers to know not to purchase Dessert Tray's "retailed" products. Maybe it is just the specific cake box cake I buy, for it is cut and exposed on all four sides, making it vulnerable to dryness.

In any case, a huge disappointment. Yuck, yuck, yuck.

4 Stars: Love the desserts here (by WildCat H.)

I've ordered birthday cakes and also had their pastry samplers (owners generously donated this for a organization I volunteered for) - always awesome. The fudge cake is my favorite and what I'll be ordering again.

4 Stars: excellent quality (by Betty R.)

I bought Dessert Tray cakes for several years in various grocery stores before I found their location. Everything I have had from them has been exceptional. Their store is tiny little thing with a couple of tables. You can buy many of their items by the slice. And on Saturday afternoons, everything is discounted, so get your Sunday desserts then.

2 Stars: Worst cake in Town (by yihwahsubigcat)

For my friend's birthday, I decided to use this bakery because all reviews sound so positive. I ordered a birthday cake for my friend on August 26, 2007. Maybe it is a small cake, the person on the counter was not very helpful and did not explain much about the choices to me. Two days before picking up the cake, I phoned in to change to bigger cake and they refused because they already made the batter (already??). I guess it turned out to be a good thing that they wouldn't let me change to bigger cake because the cake tastes horrible. The cake was dry with heavy sweet cream and the black decorative cream stains tongue and plate. It was quiet disgusting. Most of guests did not finish cake and I ended up threw away half of the cake. Any toher bakery can do much better job than this bakery.

5 Stars: BEST CAKE PLACE!! (by kaddy)

I was looking for a place to have someone make a wine botle shaped cake for my husband's birthday because he's a big wine drinker/collector. After seeing the amazing cake pictures on Dessert Tray's website, I thought I'd try it. When I met with the pastry chef, she said she hadn't done too many wine cakes but felt very confident she could give me what I was looking for. I had brought in photos of one of his favorite wine bottles with me so that she could match it up as close as possible. When I picked it up, I was so impressed and happy that I didn't know how to say thank you enough. It was the most incredible and realistic looking wine bottle I've ever seen. And it was a pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting. There was no cake left, it was soooo good! I would go back there in a heart beat!! They were very friendly, very professional, very affordable, and very talented. Thanks again Dessert Tray!!

5 Stars: Best Cake - BAR NONE! (by bababouie1)

I was in a quandry for a cake. Which to choose? I checked out a bunch of local bakeries and settled on The Dessert Tray based off of their reviews and website. I was in charge of a baby shower (twins!!) and kind of waited to the last minute to order a cake. I called The Dessert Tray (on a Thursday) and explained what I was interested in for the shower on Sunday! They made the most beautiful cake. It was just as I requested and it was so scrumptuous! I would definately use them again. Actually, I will for May, it's my daughters 12th b.day.

These guys know their stuff, are extremely accomodating, very adequately priced and highly recommended! If you need a cake.....The Dessert Tray is the place to call...BAR NONE!

5 Stars: Hidden Treasure (by Connie C.)

My husband and I were just driving past, and couldn't resist the tempation to go to dessert here. What we found was a "Hidden Treasure". A wonderful dessert place tucked away in Beaverton. This place has the best Orangesicle cake (orange and cream with white cake). They also do weddings and special event cakes...inventive and beautiful!

PROS: great cakes and desserts!
CONS: A bit pricey!

5 Stars: Best bakery in town (by jennm3)

My husband and I tried most of the well known bakeries in town for our wedding when we stubbled upon the desert tray. The cakes are amazing and fresh. The cake designer is very creative and fun to work with. The cake was right on time and survived a trip to the beach. Months later, the guests still talk about the cake. I can't wait to come back for our first anniversary.

5 Stars: Wonderful desserts and service (by dmott)

Ordered the small dessert tray for a bridal shower we had last Saturday.....every item was beyond delicious!! In fact I'm still getting great comments, and being asked where we got the goodies for the shower. I also purchased some day old cookies for home, and they tasted as fresh as first baked. High recommend if you're not watching your waist.

4 Stars: This Beaverton scratch bakery creates an abundance of treats, luring sweet tooths from nea (by Joel M.)

This small outpost in the suburbs specializes in inventive wedding cakes, but does a brisk takeout business as well. A few seats up front cater to the instant-gratification type. Luxuries like the orange-curd Creamsicle cake, raspberry-chocolate ganache cake, marionberry pie with rosewater, six different flavors of brownies, raspberry-cheesecake bars and lemon-coconut shortbread are favorites.

PROS: Reasonable price, Great service
CONS: none

4 Stars: Wonderful cakes! (by ndhicks)

My husband and I really appreciated all the help the we received from one of the employees. She was extremely helpful, polite, and patient when it came to deciding what cakes we would use for our wedding. We're looking forward to having them make our 1st year wedding cake!

1 Stars: Really Bad Experience (by mdonesley)

My husband and I stopped in after reading about The Dessert Tray on this website. I don't know that I have had worse dessert -- we each had a slice of cake and both were very dry and stale. Not to mention the service was poor -- the person at the counter seemed very anxious for us to leave.
