Sun West is the best salon I have been to. They are honest and I love that they are locally owned and give back to the communities.

I signed up on a contract in Feb, 2010, I was told I would not be charged for any tan tax that went in effect in June 2010. Suddenly I'm told that I can no longer tan until I sign something saying they can charge me extra for the tax. I called the main office to ask what was going on and talk about rude, they didn't care that I was lied to or what I had to say and didn't care what I was told upon signing up for a tan package. If I had known that I was going to be charged a tax I would have never signed up. (I don't ever willing pay the worthless government for any of their corrupt ideas). Suns up abviously don't care about their customers, they should have been happy to fix the problem by paying it themselves or void my contract. But yet they want me to sign a piece of paper saying its O,K, Never go back,They suck. Shady business tactics. I don't like being Lied to. What might they do to YOU by using their facilities or what have they already done to you? I'm not through with them yet. A-HOLES. It will be a good topic on the radio (Lars Larson) stay tuned!

If I was a customer of a tanning salon and I had to clean my own bed you can bet I wouldn't stay there for 8 years. My wife and I have also tanned at sunwest since the first salon opened in Canby and we have stayed there because it is the best we have been too, we have never had to clean our own beds, the staff have always been proffesional and kind, and we have been to all of the Sunwest locations, we have both dealt with Reba and she was very kind and helpful. They are also the most clean salon we have tanned at. I dont know of anyone who would stay at the same place for 8 years if they had to clean their own bed.......and if you have ever had any kind of package deal or contract of any kind you would know that standard procedure is a 30 day cancellation notice. If you were an extremely loyal customer like you claim to be you wouldnt be slamming them on a public site.

I have NEVER encountered such horrible customer service as I have at this place. I went in yesterday to cancel my tanning package that I purchased for a year but it's now been 17months. I was told they need a 30day notice in order to cancel my credit card charges each month. Keep in mind that I have been tanning at this place since they first opened about 8 years ago so I have been an extremely loyal customer. I've been paying these damn people $40 each month for the past 17months!!! Not to mention all the other packages I've purchased in the past. I paid 40bucks last month for tanning that I never used which was fine but to avoid that problem this month I wanted to cancel it. Not only was Reba rude but completely unhelpful and unwilling to some how compensate me for the lousy $40!!!

On top of their poor customer service skills they have dirty tanning beds and a dusty receptionist area. It's disgusting! I always brought cleaner with me to wipe my bed down with before I used it. I guess you get what you pay for! My friend actually ended up getting a skin rash because she was allergic to the lotion that the person before her was using so there is obviously a cleanliness problem there. I am definitely taking my business elsewhere this winter and I hope you do too!

Cons: Poor customer service, dirty beds, lines to use beds

Much higher priced than other salons, but always very clean and easy to get into. I have never had to wait for a bed. They also have a good line of tanning products and great sunglasses always for sale.
