I love Peoples! The staff is always friendly and the store is always really clean. I love that a little rockin' store can make such a huge difference globally.

Love this little place. They have kid carts and a nice selection of organic produce. I love their year round farmer's market too!! They have lovely beeswax candles and great body and cleaning products.

Having worked at, and/or been members of, Puget Consumers' Co-op in Seattle since the early 70s, we naturally joined Peoples' Co-op shortly after we moved to Portland. Although we never believed the sadly mistaken 'green and crunchy' hype

Cons: none.

We just moved to Portland, and happened on this place while driving around....It's amazing. Everything we ate for the next 3 days was from this place, tho as meat-eaters we did finally score some meat elsewhere. You'll find great produce with plenty of it at excellent prices, organic raw local cheddar for $6/lb, bulk items, pet food, great microbrews (eel river ipa organic, wow), muffins that are healthy along with other baked goods, local raw honey, other staples, and even a natural health section and a kids corner complete with plenty of kids toys. Outside is gorgeous, and there's a farmer's market here Wednesday afternoons. They also have a flyer on all the u-pick farms in/around Portland, with the safer ones in bold print. I was so impressed with this place and their sustainable construction (check their website) that I emailed friends + family on the east coast about it. After now seeing more of Portland, I still feel like this is a gem that I'll keep going to.

This small food co-op is a must if you're looking for organic food products. The organic produce is high quality (they also hold farmer's markets weekly) and don't miss out on the (mostly) vegan pastry section! Delicious and nutritious!

This co-op is a little bit out of the way, but it's worth the drive for anyone who is looking for good health food! They have incredibly fresh produce and wonderful items you can't find just anywhere, plus it just feels good to shop at a co op!

Where to begin? The bulk dried and produce items are the majority of the store. You can recylce your bulk plastic bags and containers of every sort. Pretty much all the products are organic and as local as possible. The best thing about People's is probably the community room upstairs. Free Yoga classes, meditation, tai chi, and countless events each month. Farmers Market on Wednesdays in the beautiful courtyard out front. I highly recommend it.
