Almost everything went pretty well except there were a few issues with the service...such as: the mics' would turn off if you touch the bottom (some kind of sensor?) and the preacher struggled with this a bit, would have been nice to know ahead of time (maybe day of rehersal?). And one thing im really disapointed about was when my maid of honor was playing the paino and singing a song for me and my husband, her mic wasnt turned on and no one could hear her, a service person was about 3 ft away and made no effort to help, instead she was chatting away with one of our guests... this was captured on our wedding video... sad because she sung so beautifully and it was a song she put together herself.

however, other than that, i'd say my wedding went pretty smooth. i think julie? was in charge. She was helpful at keeping things going, If it were intirely up to me to decide when things should happen (like cutting the cake, making toasts..ect etc..) i would have gone crazy, she was a big help. Everyone at my wedding said they thought the place was so beautiful and the food was really good(we ordered chicken breast and stuffed baked potatos). We had about 150 guest.

Pros: beautiful, good food, parking, pretty organized

Cons: so-so service, and $ a little expensive

Although I rated this establishment with 3 stars?there is a downside. As parents of the bride we wouldn't recommend Lakeside Gardens without first warning people about Julie (the wedding coordinator). The place is clean & gorgeous. The food good, but don't turn Julie loose on your wedding day without first designating someone for her to ask if there's a question.

The wedding was set for 2:30 and people were still arriving at 2:25. Yet Julie told our DJ to wrap up the background music. She then turned to the bride's aunt (my sister) and told her to immediately start her piano medley. More guests continued arriving but when our DJ pointed it out, Julie replied with the tone and the assurance of a drill sergeant, "The wedding WILL start at 2:30." SHE WAS NOT NICE, and when trying to reason with her, she interrupted with, "I'll take care of it".

Julie took care of it alright. She sent someone out to the parking lot to divert guests from the main entrance. Instead they were forced to come through a side door and wander down a narrow hallway where the wedding party was lined up. One guest tripped and nearly fell trying to avoid stepping on the bride's wedding dress.

We were the only event scheduled for that day at Lakeside Gardens. In fact we'd purchased an extra hour of time just in case. THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO NEED to start the wedding precisely at 2:30 and Julie knew it. No need to humiliate our guests. And sadly, some names never made it on the guest book because they came through the back door.

Julie should have asked either the bride or her parents what they wanted to do. Instead she rushed us. As soon as she cut off the background music my sister immediately started playing the piano as ordered. BUT THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A MOMENT OF SILENCE FIRST, or a small chime or something to signal that the wedding was about to begin. Instead?the piano medley began while people continued filing in through the back door. The chapel was abuzz with talking that continued through the entire performance. Then, as if that wasn't enough?Julie came up (WHILE SHE WAS PLAYING) to whisper more instructions.

After the reception, a few guests remained talking and enjoying the moment. Julie announced that if we hurry to get out of there, we'd get a refund of the extra time we had paid for. A groomsman commented on having to rush and Julie's snappish comment to him was "Well, that's what happens when people stay late". Personally I found Julie rude and insulting--a far cry from the pleasant person she was before they got our money. The wedding was far too rushed. It's like they can't get you in and out of there fast enough.

There's more but I'm limited on space here. Let's just say the place was clean & beautiful, the food good. Just don't turn Julie loose on your wedding day without full communication and most important...designating someone for her to ask if there is a question.

Pros: Ambience, organization, good food

Cons: Julie the wedding coordinator needs to lighten up. Our wedding was rushed for no reason

I had my wedding there in the winter season. It was absolutely beautiful. The staff was very helpful up to the point of the wedding day itself. I will not go the nitty gritty of what all they tried and did pull off. A couple of things to note: they serve dinner on salad plates! They charge for bottles of wine that were unused. We were told when we purchased them that we would be able to leave with the left over food and wine. When my mom went to pick it up the next day they said there absolutely nothing left. I personally saw the kitchen after the wedding and saw them boxing up the food and wine. We were really taken for all that they possibly could. AND, they were very rude after the wedding. They are great before they get your money but terrible after they do.

This is a beautiful setting. The staff move things along nicely and everything seems to be handled professionally. The couple getting married didn't have to worry about anything and were able to enjoy their day.

Lakeside Gardens is a breath taking and romantic setting for a wedding or any other special event. One feature that this facility provides that is very useful in Oregon is that you can get married outdoors or indoors because the weather her is so unpredictable. The swans in the lake the bridges, gazebos, trellis and the beautiful landscaping all provide gorgeous pictures and memories that will last a lifetime.
