I was driving through Portland, on my way to the coast when my check engine light came on. I came to Garry Small Saab with no appointment & they took me right in. They were able to not only fix my car that afternoon, but also saved me money by locating a used part that I needed. To find out that they are a family run operation made it even better! They treated me like I was part of a family, a Saab family. If you drive a Saab & are in the Portland area I really think you should give them a call! Their service is wonderful & so are the people who work behind the counter!
This is a really great dealership. Not a high-pressure megastore but a smaller dealership staffed by enthusiasts and genuinely friendly people who spend the time to understand your needs. SAAB's are great cars (I'm on my 4th) and they will help you get into the right one at a good price. I purchased my most recent 9-3 Sports Sedan from Bill, and he is a pleasure to deal with. Service is also excellent, and with a smile. Stop in and look at a new SAAB. Cheers!
The staff at Garry Small Saab are wonderful. They made me feel like family. They went above and beyond to find the car I wanted. I will be a forever customer. Garry Small and Mell Vale were by far the best salespeople I have ever worked with. Kudos for the excellent job! If you want a relaxed, no pressure place to buy your vehicle Garry Small Saab is the place. This is not your ordinary new car dealership. I was even told they could find a used car (not just a Saab) if I needed one. I need to buy my daughter a vehicle and I will be taking Garry Small up on his offer to locate the perfect vehicle

You don't find customer service like this anymore. Not only do they have knowledgeable sales associates, they have experienced technicians & super friendly service advisers! An all around great experience with sales & service.I will continue to refer my family & friends to this one of a kind dealership. Not the big fussy corporate feel, just a warm an inviting business. What a nice change of pace!

From what I understand Garry Small Saab has been doing business here in Portland for many years. My experiences have always been pleasant, even the one where I had to have some inner parts of the head of my engine machined. This wasn't cheap, but they helped me decide what things were necessary and what I could afford to put off until later. No pushiness at all. Plus, they've got one of the most extensive used car lots in town, with great prices all the time.
PROS: Great Cars, Great Mechanics, Personable Salespeople
CONS: Saab Parts are Too Expensive for a Domestically Owned Company (GM)

I purchased an extended warranty sold by Garry Small Saab for my 2001 Saab. Recently, a major engine part failed on my Saab. The repair was a covered repair under the warranty, however, the warranty company filed for bankruptcy after I had purchased the warranty.
The repair cost was several thousand dollars. Although he had no legal obligation to repair the car without charging me, Garry Small Saab did not charge me anything for the major repair to my Saab.
Pros: Honored extended warranty where company went bankrupt
I called 5 minutes to closing time because my car had quit working.
Not only did they stay after hours to talk to me about my issues, they scheduled a tow truck to come get my car and bring it to their shop. They took all my information over the phone, so I did not even need to come in with my car. They have an after hours service drop off that makes it so convenient!!!! They called me the next morning with the diagnosis and my car would be ready by 3pm! They even said if I did not have a ride to pick up my car that they could find someone to come pick me up! I did not need that, as I just had my co-worker drop me off after work, but it was still nice that they offered. I would recommend this dealership's service department to anyone who is driving a Saab! They absolutely go over & beyond to make sure you are a satisfied customer!
Pros: Treat you as they would want to be treated!
We went to Gary Small b/c it was close to our house and we needed something done quickly. BAD mistake. They overcharged for just about everything they did. They then quoted us 6x more than we paid elsewhere for a repair that they hoped would 'help' fix the situation. I don't normally write bad reviews for places but the fact that they wanted over $1000 more than the next shop (which was amazing) is unacceptable. Maybe they are a good place to buy a Saab. But they are NOT a good place to fix a Saab.
Pros: They have tools
Cons: They will charge you exorbitant amounts of money to use those tools

Pros: knowledge of the product, relaxed, friendly, being able to work with the owner, employees are very nice, just the total atmosphere of the dealership
