I've had a couple mowers fixed there along with anything else with a small engine. They fix things right, I get stuff back when they say, and they tell me what I can do to maintain my equipment. I would recommend them
Pros: Good service
Cons: Fast turn around
I've been comming to jay's for over 5 years. I, as well as others are treated with GREAT customer service. I've always had my parts delivered in a timly fashion. I truly disagree with the other fudge packer that reviewed this place. Jay, the owner, maybe isn't the best bussiness owner or very people savy, but jay isn't the one running the place. He has one machanic that does EVERYTHING, Erik deals with the customers 90% of the time, he does 2/3 of all the mowers, He's the one that calls you when your parts are done or your mower. I don't think this bussiness should be judged by the owner, how many as*hole bussiness owners are there? It's the people that work for the company that make a difference. I highly recommend jays shop, just ask for Erik, he can fix your car too, or motorized scooter, go-karts, mini-bikes or any thing else with a damn motor. I've always delt with Erik and I've NEVER had a problem there, and who gives a sh*t if it's stuffed with mowers, they got a lot of sh*t to fix.
Pros: Best small engines shop in town
Cons: Republicans run the country!!!!!!!
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! DO NOT ORDER PARTS FROM THIS PERSON.
DO NOT PAY IN ADVANCE!
if you order a part from this person he will contact his local distributor. Ok, well not really because all of the ones I called there is only 2 by the way, & they have the part in stock! the part problem was only a fraction of the total equation. He never calls to tell you the part is in. Will not tell you the part is late. Dodges you at every turn when trying to find out why it is not here. Then insists that he was hard at work when there is a tv sitting right there for him to watch. And I quietly waited for 4 minutes till he was done.
I really wish i could say that this guy really is just having a bad day caused by other people. the problem is that most part suppliers deliver for free. this is an incentive to just using the direct parts service from the Briggs or Straton or parts manufacturer.
While you are there visit the worlds largest exhibit of lawnmower attractions. Come see the Mountain of Lawnmower! NEARLY 10 FEET HIGH! VISIT THE DRY GREASE EXHIBIT, RIGHT AS YOU WALK IN TO THE DOOR.
Beware of the money He hands you, THE DOLLAR BILLS (he keeps no $20's) WILL BE OLDER THEN BILL CLINTON.
Oh, and THEY ORDERED THE WRONG PART.
BTW, I spoke to the supplier, he would not say one word and asked that all questions be directed to jay..
So what does JAY SAY?
JAY SAY NO WAY DJ!
NO REFUNDS!
HE ALSO TRIED TO CHARGE ME MORE FOR THE PART. WELL GUESS WHAT, I STILL DO NOT HAVE IT!
So Where do I recommend? I would go to the shop in St. Johns or this one. The lady is real nice and she really knows her stuff and will not give you any FluFF!
