What a fun Place! I needed a little down time and did not want to hit the local Hotel restaurant scene. Glad I found this place! Lots of great TV's fun atmosphere and wow what great selection of Micro-brews. To top it all off, the food was both great and affordable. Sidelines is a good destination and I will be back.

Nice Sports Bar atmosphere with lots of Big Screen TV's with ALL the Games! Stopped by Sunday for the first time during the NFL Playoffs... asked to see if I could also get one of the TV's put on the PGA Golf at Kapalua Maui and they were so freindly to ablige! Great Beers on Tap... I had two Microbrews from the tap and then what the Bartender called a "Debra Jo's Special".... Tuwaka and Cran... soooooo smooth!

Hey...but don't believe me.... stop by and check it out for yourself the next time you go to the Airport or like I did on the way to Costco! I will be back!

Pros: Awesome Onion Rings! Great for watching All Sports! Like a fun Cheers Bar with sports!

Cons: none yet!

.

I opted for the Sideline Burger and onion rings; if you're gonna go somewhere maybe once, I figured getting the namesake item is a good bet...
The Sideline Burger: 1/3 pound grilled burger, with cheese, 3 slices of crispy bacon, deli ham (yeah, a sam'ich worth of sliced ham!), and fried egg (yeah, a fried egg!). Served with lettuce, pickle, tomato... you know, to make it healthy, right? And Grey Poupon... you know, to make it classy!

The place has about 6(?) teevees throughout; two over the bar, two over one dining section and two in the nonsensically designated non-smoking dining section. The customer base seems like a mixing pot of business travelers, boisterous regulars, and a couple of local sketch.

Not a bad place if you've got limited time and even less expectation. I wouldn't seek it out, by any means, but if my business travel is going to regularly bring me to the strips of hotel/motels on Airport Way, then I'd go here again...

I could not disagree more with the previous review. I find sidelines to be a friendly, comfortable, low key place to hang out. The manager is a bit shy, I think, but always friendly, and I have always had great waitresses and waiters. And I think the menu is great compared to most pub food. Their new pizza is AMAZING! It's no hip, crowded club or fancy restaurant, but more just a great place to hang out, after work or anytime you want to unwind with friends.

I disagree with the one bad review written here. Maybe that guy was just being a jerk or something.

Whenever I'm hungry in NorthEast Portland, I often go to Sidelines, hidden back between McDonalds and a Plaid Pantry. It's a great find.

The food is GREAT (try the chicken strips with BBQ sauce!) The people are so cool it gives that Cheers-like vibe. The hamburgers are awesome. The mood is fun and relaxed.

Whenever business clients come into town briefly, I take them to Sidelines before their plane leaves. The convenience of being on Airport Way. Everybody's been happy with it, and a few have asked to go back the next time they come into town.

Highly recommended.
