A Portland favorite since 1979, Cassidy's Restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Portland within walking distance of major hotels and steps from the Crystal Ballroom. Cassidy's exceptional menu features delicious seafood, premium-cut meats and fresh pasta. A well-chosen wine list, a beer selection including the microbrews, classic cocktails and a bar that has earned its reputation as one of the finest in town is all found in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. The goal of Cassidy's is to establish a relationship with guests, as would a traditional publican or innkeeper, and to provide customers with nourishing and delicious food and drinks in a warm and social setting that allows their bodies to be repaired and rested, and their spirits to be lifted.

If you are of the gay or lesbian inclination Cassidys is a fun restaurant with good food and good conversation. Straight people like it also because the food is cooked with a presence beyond nice.

Great food any time of night
by db1221sw10th
What is all of this about late night?!!! Great food is great food and can be enjoyed any time of day. My husband and I went about 6. Yes, it was quiet but we went to eat! I had the short ribs and he had the halibut. We thought we'd died and gone to heaven. This food is addictive! Very reasonably priced and definitely worth the money.
Pros: Melt in your mouth short ribs
Cons: None that I could find

Go for the late night menu
by moepotatoe
I went to Cassidy's for the first time last week for their late night happy hour and ordered a chicken sandwich. I couldn't believe a chicken sandwich could be that delicious. The bread was hearty, the spinach was really fresh and there was some kind of sauce on it that I couldn't get enough of. I had that amazing sandwich and a beer for about ten dollars. I wouldn't be surprised if I start going there after work at least once a week from now on.
Pros: Great service, nice atmosphere, incredible and cheap food.
Cons: None

We love this place with their romantic high wooden booths. The onion soup is the best in the world, very addictive, we have it each time we go there, great salads also. Yummmm !
Pros: Incredible Onion Soup !
Cons: None, the place was perfect, wonderful experience.

Yummy
by funkithaichkn
the food was pretty awesome, a little bit on the pricy side, but definetly delicious. i love the oysters! my group was seated kind of near the bar so the smoke was in our neck of the woods, so i would reccommend non-smokers to sit away from the bar. the service was awesome, our waitress was very on task. very serene atmosphere laid back, very comfy.
Pros: food, service, atmosphere
Cons: , smoking

Excellent Value
by courtneyshields
Cassidy's is our favorite bar in Portland. We also had our wedding rehearsal dinner there... we asked for appetizers, entrees, and desserts for 30 people for under $1,000 and they overdelivered. Value is definitely there. Great calamari, mac and cheese, seafood, drinks... reasonably priced and in a classic, friendly, bar scene... ambience is perfect. Well done.
Pros: Good bang for buck, Candle lit ambience, Good service

Late night hang out...
by fractal74
This place has become a favorite for the Portland Geocaching community. Great brew, great service, and quite possibly the best calimari in town.
Not much parking in the area, but it's just a short walk from the Max, so no big deal...
Pros: Service, Calimari

You don't know Cassidy's?
by jacquelette
In a city of trendy and spot-of-the-moment bars and restaurants, Cassidy's is a refreshing departure. Enter, and be reminded of a time before attitude was a requisite for waitstaff--a time when style and substance shared top billing. Excellent food, great service, solid cocktails, and an atmosphere that engulfs you with warmth all contribute to the feeling of having had a vintage Portland experience.
Pros: old Portland style, late night food, lovely servers
Cons: parking

Great art and food
by syddent
Great art and food go well together. The art on the wall added to ambiance. Our dishes were unusual and well prepared. The service was prompt and very friendly. Hardly anyone was there. Perhaps that was because it was a Saturday night and not a week day.
Pros: Excellent Food, Excellent service
Cons: Out of the Way
