Powells Books located in Beaverton is a readers paradise. They sell new and used books and have a huge inventory to choose from. The staff are easygoing and very helpful in finding any title you need. In addition to their tremendous library of titles, they also sell knick knacks to adorn your shelves such as bookends, bookmarks, and other such trinkets.

Powell's is a Portland legend, and I personally like visiting this smaller store in the suburbs even more than the downtown one. The selection is smaller (although still very impressive!), but parking is easier (they have their own lot with plenty of spaces) and there are less people crowded in the aisles, making it easier to get around.
For kids, there is a small room dedicated to books with places to sit and read or for parents to read to their little ones. They always have lots of sale books and a wide range of titles.
Overall, Powell's prices are good - not the amazing bargains you used to find, but definitely in line with most other used book stores and you can't beat the selection of topics and titles you can find in one place.
Selling books here is easier too - fewer people to stand in line behind and not as far to cart your books. The staff is very friendly and eager to help you find what you need.
PROS: Great selection on every topic, easy parking
CONS: Not as many books as downtown location

Powells Books is a hugh store and I like this store a lot. The selections are great. The staff is great and they are always willing to help you find what ever it is that you are looking for. You can always find any book you are looking for and if by chance you can't find it they will order it for you. Most likely they will have it in stock. Their prices are average with all the other book stores.

I like going to this Powell's better than the downtown store because it's pretty easy to get in and out of. The booksellers are less busy in my opinion, so when I have a big load of books to sell, I always head for the Beaverton store. You can park on the backside and get a dolly from the staff, bringing your books in without having to drag your stuff all the way througuh the store too. I love trading my books for product credit. Don't get me wrong - the library is a faboulous place, but at Powell's you're pretty much guaranteed to find what you want, and you won't be on a long waitlist to get it!

CONS:
The biggest advantage that this branch has over its bigger brother in downtown is that parking is much easier. The store is smaller, but they have crammed tons of books into each aisle so the selection is still quite large. I love looking at the sale racks located between the aisles. There are often great deals there on new books in addition to the used books piled on the shelves. The aisles are very narrow, though, so the layout may cause problems for some people.
