We haven't been here for a while and the food has definitely gone down hill since our last visit. All three of us agreed that we would never come back again. We all ended up not feeling well that evening and the next day. The only good

Chiam has moved to Cornell road. The quality and quantity of food has gone downhill and the prices have increased. We will no longer frequent Chiam.

I went there when I was a kid and loved it. Moved back to Portland a few years ago and it is still exceptional. I love the pork chow mein w/ pan fried noodles. These noodles are thin and slightly crispy and very good. The general tao's chicken is another good one. If you order the BBQ pork, the sauce they bring is great. I live in Portland but its worth the drive. Tip: Try ordering off the menu if you don't see your favorite dish. They seem to be pretty accomodating. All in all the food is different from a typical chinese place.

Pros: Food, reasoanble prices

Cons: Don't deliver....at least to me

Chiam is a fixture in the Cedar Mill neighborhood. They offer Chinese and American Food seven days a week. They have a bar in the back but it isn't of the same quality that the restaurant is. They have servers that have been there for years and the man that greets you at the door haa been there forever. They have large tables to accompany family dining and smaller booths for two. The food is delicious and you can get it to-go too.

Our experience with Chiam was terrible. The food was not good and, in some cases, not what we had ordered. It was bland, watery, and the chow mein had no noodles! Last time I checked, noodles were important in chow mein. The thing that really made us upset is that we paid well more than we would have at other Chinese restaurants for better food. Maybe we ordered the wrong things or caught them on a bad night, but we aren't going to give this place a second chance.

My wife and I have been going to this resraurant since it opened and have never been disappointed.

The Mongolian Beef is our best choice and it can be ordered with as much or less of the hot spices as you like.
My wife likes it wimpy style.
