.

Honeymooning in early April brought my husband and I to the Outlaw around 5pm on Wed. The decor was supurb...an entire wall covered in antique sleds, odd tools and elk horns artfully placed, a beckoning gas fireplace in the center of the dining area while sporting a very clean and well kept modern restaraunt. The married owners (hate I forgot their names) were a pleasure to talk to and informative about the area (we're thinking of retiring there). We each ordered a beer and surveyed the menu as we looked around a completly desolate dining room. I have to say the absence of patrons had us a lille worried but it WAS 5pm. We weren't really interested ordering dinner because of the early hour but instead were looking for some tasty little nosh to try out while relaxing with a beer. Continuing to study the menu we noticed that there wasn't much of a noshy selection...it was pretty formal with prices to match. The selection of entrees were varied with eloquent sauces and ingredients indigenous to the area and sounded wonderful . The proprietors had been so nice we didn't want to hurt their feelings so I ordered a bowl of homemade tomato soup and we gave back the menus. We relaxed (all alone) in front of the fire and sipped our beer and before we knew it the soup arrived. Larry patiently waited while I had my soup which had just the right amount of each ingredient and cooked almost perfectly (it could have been a tad hotter). We paid our tab and toured the other rooms of the restaraunt (which were artfully decorated as well) and prepared to leave when the owners surprised us by giving us a shot glass with their logo on it..."to the newleyweds!!!" they cheered. Feeling like crap because we had spent so little money there (and not realizing that the restaraunt had a BAR attatched to it) we thanked them profusely and told them what a beautiful restaraunt they had and left to saunter down the street to find the next watering hole. I regret not coming back later for dinner so you need to go and let me know how it is!!!!!
