I joined for the tennis. They have 7 indoor courts, 4 new and 3 older ones. The courts are in decent shape. They do have organized events, like men's morning or group lessons or mixed doubles nights, etc.

the rock wall is an EXCELLENT place for beginners. They have a very bouldering cave and the rope routes have auto-belays, so you clip in and go, without having another person hold your ropes. They also have an after school climbing group for middle-schoolers and maybe grade-schoolers too! NOTE for you parents, don't just drop your kids off, you have to sign a waiver for those lil uns (i.e. under 18).

My family has been a member of SAC for 15 years. Over that time period we have been impressed with the interest of the managment to expand offerings to appeal to the club membership. This is a very family oriented place with options to appeal to all ages. I love seeing gray haired women playing tennis with teenagers and all ages enjoying the fabulous pools and all ages and genders doing Zumba with Kristen or the many work out classes. The pools are the true gem here-- clean, inviting, indoor with no chlorine and the outdoor play area in the summer for kids cannot be beat. The party room for events is superb, I had my retirement party there and it was perfect-- Jennifer provides excellent service to make your event be just as you hoped.

I participate in exercise classes and feel comfortable with the older ladies in 20/20/20 and with the super fit ladies in some of the other classes. No matter what class I take, I can work at my fitness level and not feel out of place. I really enjoyed the wide ranges of ages and abilities.

I am currently reading a book about aging and how segregating older people feel in this community. I would definitely say that SAC is not one of those places. I love that there is something for everyone and we all pursue it together.

Our boys are free to enjoy themselves without worrying about breaking a lot of rules. They benefit from all the different exercise and social options. I feel like we are working together to raise kids who will value fitness for their whole life.

The Pools are amazing, they have indoor salt-water pools that are much more enjoyable than chlorine pools. They have a bevy of classes available for all types of interests and there is a diverse and enjoyable membership base where you meet good people. It has a very neighborhood feeling to it, and is very unpretentious.

The staff, including the trainers and instructors are so nice! Their amenities are very new and clean and pretty and nice and varied and coooool. You will have access to salt-filtered swimming pools, basketball, rock climbing, racquetball, tennis, weights, classes, aerobic machines, etc., etc., etc!

Thank you for your efforts in administering such a great athletic club. We have been members for 6 or 7 years. My husband had a heart attach and appreciates the whole atmosphere since he spends so much time at the club. The staff is friendly and upbeat, which creates a really fun community for him.

This is my local Gym that I live walking distance from my house. My family has been members off and on for over 15 years, and my wife and I are now members. It is an amazing value for a full service club. You can get a whole year at 10% off, and there is always machines available.

My family loves this club! I have two boys at Sunset High School, that walk over to SAC everyday after school (as a lot of their friends do ). My husband & I both work full time, so it works out perfectly for us. The boys can get something to eat at the SAC restaurant then work out or play basketball with their buddies. There are also quiet areas where they can do homework. I'm also a big fan of the group fitness classes. Highly recommend yoga with Joan & Zumba with Kristen.

SAC has the best swimming center in town. The pools are saltwater - and those of us that are regular swimmers know this is a huge bonus. There are 3 indoor pools, one of which is a warm pool that my 3 & 5 yr old love. Children are also welcome to use the hot tub! All in all we love SAC!

SAC appears to be a great club on the surface but once you become a member you will be seriously disappointed. The equipment is run down and maintance is not done reqularily even though they say they have a maintenance person on duty daily. Spinning bikes are continually down and often break while members are riding them. Although petitions are sent to managment it appears nothing is done about them. Member's belongings often disappear inside and outside the club out of cars. Members feel like managment does not care about their grievances. When asked to install security cameras they refuse and appear to be angry if the theft is reported. Overall the member relations in this facility is not very good but there is a waiting list to become a member and maybe this is why they don't seem to be concerned. If the people waiting only knew.

SAC employment Application does not even ask about having a criminal history. I know for a fact several have quite lengthy violent records some with 10 convictions, some on probation and still others on house arrest being allowed to work. This has been brought to the attention of management several times. They seem to be clueless when it comes to knowing what and/or where their employees are. Security cameras would help keep them informed and protect the children that play here.

My husband and I are cancelling our membership (my husband grew up as a member) because despite their ""upgrades"", SAC has done a poor job of maintaining its facilities.\r\nSome equipment or another is usually out of order (recently water fountain and tan beds) for periods of time that go beyond ""normal"".\r\nAlso, showering in the locker rooms has become unpleasant because of the run-down nature of facilities, and lack of upkeep. Not the dirtiest, but not the cleanest either.\r\nFinally, we were disappointed with SAC's tennis membership, as we paid pretty good money as ""tennis members"", but rarely were able to use the courts. SAC has too many tennis members, competing for too few courts. What results is the feeling of winning a lottery, if you are able to book a court more than once every couple of weeks.

I've only been a SAC member for ~9 months & unfortunately have witnessed more 'bad' than 'good'. Aside from that disclaimer, I've held gym memberships for at least 15 years & therefore consider myself competent to post comments. :-) The new building additions are certainly an improvement from the old original facility, however core equipment maintenance appears to have taken a back seat & repairs are taking forever within the old buildings. Examples include: steam room, sauna & water fountain within indoor pool area have been ""Out Of Order"" for weeks (if not more than a month), at least 6-7 cardio machines have been ""Out Of Order"" for a couple months now. And lastly, despite notification to 'management', the benches within the small & cramped weight room continue to NOT be bolted to the floor for safety. I recognize the usefullness of having a couple 'mobile' benches in any weight room, however gyms such as 24 HR Fitness follow these safety recommendations on most of their benches thus allowing members to work out safely with heavier free weight...\r\n\r\n

Here's the good and the bad. The good is the 3 indoor pools with one that is really warm for us wussies who hate to be cold, the classes (spinning and pilates) are generally very good and the rock wall and the gym are quite nice. Here's the bad, usually either or both the sauna or steam room seem to be broken. The family changing rooms are abhorrent, they smell bad and are basically concrete boxes with no ventilation. At the very least, it would be nice if they could figure out a way to keep the doors propped open between uses so it can air out a bit. I've heard (I'm female so do not know for sure) that the men's locker room is gross. Also the fitness equiment is not kept very clean or updated with the cool new equipment. Overall, I'll keep my membership but, would be much happier if the owners would give a little more love and care to the non-racquet portion of the premisis.
