This is a fun place. Jazz or other music is generally live upstairs, the place smells of delicious food, and it's very open and friendly. Lots of space to go and hand with friends.

This is the best pizza I have had in Portland and the beer is great. Try the North West Pizza, so good! and the 5 cheese .

The service is not the best, everyone is super friendly but they are not too focused on their job. Regardless I will continue to return again and again.

The Lucky Labrador Public House in Multnomah Village is a cheery place to visit. The food and beverages are good and the atmosphere is welcoming. We have especially enjoyed going there for musical events.

Just a neat place to go. Great food, good selection of items on the menu and of local brews. Service is pretty good too. Parking might not be super convenient but not bad.

The place is a test of iron wills. Is it worth nearly non-existing service and a long wait for terrific beer and amazing pizza? If you are of the type that won't toot a horn when the dude in front of you at a "now-green light" sits until it goes amber, this may be your paradise.
The pizza is a hand tossed crust to die for, one of the best I have ever had... the brew... I could have had two or three of these wonders if I could have had service while waiting for the pizza.
Be patient, I am told it is a virtue. I will return, midday, to wait again.

Pros: great brews, terrific pizza

Cons: you may not live long enough to get your pizza

The Lucky Lab is a wonderful place for lunch. It is rustic interior and casual place for great food. They have a wide variety of sandwiches and a large selection on local beer. They also have fresh brewed root beer for those of us who have to go back to work.

During the warmer and dryer days, this is a popular evening hang out in Multnomah Village, as there is plenty of outdoor seating. EVERY time that I have been here in the evening, I have had an experience that has made me wish I had gone some where else. Plan to wait for a very long time for everything, beer , sides and pizza. The only way to order anything is to stand in line (by the door, which causes more problem) inside and order at the one cash register. On a recent evening, I was here with several friend (I ate ahead of time) who waited over an hour and a half for two pizzas. The second beer run by my friend's husband took over half an hour. If the owner of this restaurant switched to having the staff take orders from tables (thereby making tipping more likely), perhaps the staff would care about service. I think the poor customer service is more an indication of how poorly this place is run, because the staff appear to be overworked and quite busy. All of this being said, this place does have good (not fantastic), tasty pizza, salads and beer. I prefer to come here for lunch on the weekends, avoiding the crowds.

Pros: Pizza - Ability to Order Slices of Pizza

Cons: Poor Management, Understaffed, Long Waits in the Evening

I'd been to this location before (as well as the location on Hawthorn) and I had looked forward to making it a regular neighborhood stop. However, on my last visit I had such a bad experience that I doubt I will ever go back.

Ordering our pizza and beer only took a couple minutes at the busy counter, which I didn't mind. My friend and I then sat down and waited 15 minutes for two beers. Another 15 minutes passed and we still had no pizza- our ticket has been lost. When we did get our pizza it was luke warm (despite the fact that it should have been rushed to us right out of the oven). I went up the counter to order another round and was completely ignored for several minutes despite attempting to politely get someone's attention. After giving up and returning to my table my friend tried again and had a similar experience, fortunately returning with our beers. Shortly after last call we were rudely told that we needed to finish and up leave. All the while front counter was swarmed with the employees friends still being served. I understand needing to close up and go home, but I don't want to have to chug my beer and rush out if you aren't going to kick out your friends, too. And if you aren't going to compensate us for forgetting our order, at least try and be nice.

I'm a server myself and I've worked in a place very similar to the Lucky Lab before. A smaller, laid-back, neighborhood joint. I'm extremely forgiving of mistakes and slip ups because I've been there too. But an entire staff that is inconsiderate and impolite? Its not that hard to plaster on a fake smile, play nice, and complain about us when we leave.

Pros: Great local beer

Cons: awful service

I've lived in the area for 8 years now and go to the SW Lab often. They get very busy, with lots of children on some nights, however the staff always seems very happy to be there. I love the beer (super dog of course) and the pizza is amazing. Besides it being too noisy sometimes I've always had great service and food!

This place could be really cool, it has a fun atmosphere and the pizza is pretty dang good. Unfortunately all the staff are rude, and you are given absolutely zero customer service. I am usually ok with the "do it yourself" water and silverware, but they need to keep stuff stocked and it would be nice if they'd respond when I say, "can I please get a plate?" I will never eat there again, I hate feeling so unwelcome in a pub! Four stars for the pizza, zero stars for the service.

Pros: yummy pizza, good beer

Cons: Most unwelcoming pub ever, unfriendly staff

.

Don't expect much from the counter help. They all look as if they just woke up, and are unhappy to be there. The food is "just" ok. The beer is great. No smiles, no hello, dirty atmosphere, and someone crapped on the bathroom floor! I don't think I'll order food as they don't look like they care much about cleanliness.

This place is ok, but the location in NW by Dove Lewis is better. They are both relatively quiet, though. Tight Tuesdays are great for after work when you want to save a few dollars. Good food too, and samples of beers if you aren't familiar with their style.

Pros: Tuesday specials

The other folks who posted say The Lucky Lab is boring and there's nothing to do. That's exactly why I liked it. My husband and I went there and found that it was relaxed and quiet. And, no, we're not old -- 27 and 30. Unfortunately, we did not have the pizza, but we did get hummus and we both enjoyed it. I suppose if someone went there to play pool and watch the big game, he would be disappointed. If you prefer a place where you can chat and have your beer in peace, please consider The Lucky Lab.

Ok-so for a pizza freak, I admit I should have known about this place long ago, but I've got kids and am very busy. Lucky Lab is now on my list though. Its got great pizza, great beer and is kid friendly. Add a couple of big screens and it would be Pizza Nirvana!

There is nothing to do here. Period. No TVs, no pool, no games, nothing. Just some no-better-than-average beer, some pizza, and a few magazines... I could find more entertainment in La Grande.

There are plenty of things to like about this place, and only one reason to hate it. The Lucky Lab is afun place to sit outside and enjoy a beer, and like the review before states, the pizza is divine. A great place to bring your pup if he/she is social. The beers are not as good as many other breweries in town, mostly thick flavored gimmick beer with occasional season exceptions. The negative is that it is like drinking at your old elementary school. They have a few magazines to read, but none of your standard bar fare. It would be a much needed improvement if they invested in a big screen or some pool tables. Seriously, I want to have some fun when I drink, not just sit there and do nothing. It appears as though I'm not the only one that feels this way...
