great customer service, good job with keeping the place clean, always have a smile on their face, very welcoming, always innovated, and get involved with you and friends.

I Just visited Denev in Sherwood and all I can say is wow! I can say that since the change in ownership ther have been some HUGE overhauling and staff changes(at least as far as receptionists go) Also a new massage therapist is there. I got my hair done byt Jenna and she is indeed world class! I recieved such special attention that I will recommend her to all my friends!
Those of you who had a bad experience need to go back and give then one more try.. but be sure to ask for Jenna, I definately will!

I came to O'briens (Denev) at first to have my hair done and the stylist was an absolute angel!! She (April M.) actually listened to me, took time to make sure she understood what I wanted and ended up doing an amazing job! I've actually had strangers walk up to me on the street and ask where I had my hair done. Both the cut and the amazing mixture of colors she used complement my coloring and are easy to take care of. I barely spend more than 10 minutes a day on my hair and it looks fabulous all day long.

I would've given 5 stars except I've used the other services at this salon and wasn't happy at all. The manicurist butchered my nails and left scratch marks all over them. I had to cut my nails off the next day. And I had a major allergic reaction to the skin care line the facialist recommended for me. And I agree with past reviewers that the recepionists are rude. I try my best never to interact with them and only with my stylist. But I will never again go to another hair stylist. April M. is the best there is!!

I made an appointment there for a Wednesday afternoon, and showed up 10 minutes early. The stylist was running 15 minutes late, so I came back 20 minutes later. Then, I was told she's actually running AN HOUR late! Would I like to wait? Nope. So I rescheduled.

On my second visit, on a Monday morning, the stylist was running 25 minutes late. I considered waiting and then asked how long it would take for the color services I desired. I was told it would take her 3.5-4 hours to do the hair color I wanted. Forget it! I went to Regis at Washington Square Mall and got the color done in 2 hours and the stylist was on time.

Just to give O'Brien's (now called Denev Beauty) a second try, I called to ask for their Web site address and to make a hair cut appointment. The person who answered the phone transferred me to THREE people just so I could be told what their Web site address is (hey, go figure, it's Denevbeauty.com!). It's like a bad joke: "How many salon employees does it take to answer a simple question?" By the way, their URL is on their business cards so it wouldn't have taken much to just look at their own promotional materials to answer this question.

Maybe their services are great, but I'm not sure I'll ever find out. Their prices for hair services seem reasonable, though, compared to the other salons in Sherwood.

CONS: Customer non-service, timeliness
