We customize our treatment just for you, making sure you receive the best personal dental care available. Our practice focuses on prevention, treatment and education; our goal is to help you keep your teeth and smile in optimal health, comfort and appearance. Communication is an important part of dental care, so please feel free to ask us any questions along the way. At Laurelwood Dental we use the CEREC 3D, a high-tech instrument that helps dentists restore damaged teeth. The new "what you see is what you get" software makes designing the perfect restoration fun and easy. The procedures we can perform with the CEREC 3D are: Full or Partial Crowns, Veneers, and all single tooth restorations. With the CEREC 3D a restoration is usually done in a single session, typically in less than two hours. The procedure is extremely precise. The restoration is natural looking - we use no metals.
Growing up I never had great dental care. After getting older and getting an "adult" job, I decided to go and take care of my teeth. My first experience was awesome! I was a little nervous at first, but after walking through the doors and seeing the beautiful gals at the front desk, made my nerves go away! Both of them were so helpful and nice when taking down my information. I love their smiles! I saw the younger dentist (who, by the way, is mighty handsome!), and he was so sweet! His assistant was the sweetest little girl ever! She had such a pleasant voice and likable attitude! I went in to get a crown on one of my teeth and the assistant and dr talked so much during the procedure that it made me forget about where I was! I loved hearing about their children and what they did over the weekend! I also saw one of the hygienist! He was so gentle with my mouth! He was very informative and told me exactly what he was doing (especially when he was using the computer!). I have been telling all my friends about this magical place! You guys will definetly see more of me! Especially every 6 months for my cleanings and check up!
Pros: Nicest people I have every met!
Cons: None!

The doctors take their time with you; the dentist made me feel like I was the only patient there (when in fact I knew I wasn't because the place was filled with other patients) which is very rare. You could tell the staff really enjoy working there because all of them were full of smiles and were very friendly. From the moment I walked in, to the time I walked out, it was a very pleasant experience. I would recommend this place to anyone!
Pros: friendly doctors and staff; they take their time with you
Cons: none that i can think of

My family has great respect for Dr. Rice. He is a caring person and dentist with high quality standards. He is very current with new dental technologies and is good at listening to his patient's needs. We have known him since we have moved to Portland and he has always been more than helpful to us. We truly appreciate Dr. Rice and his friendship.

This was a very painful experience and I didn't even get treated! I went in for a consultation and tooth pain.
Being uninsured, I asked about payment plans at the beginning of my encounter. Shannon, the receptionist was very helpful. The dentist, however, spent more time giving me unsolicited financial counseling than discussing the health of my teeth. He did not look at the records from my previous dentist that I brought to him, and didn't even bother to make small talk or to ask any other pertinent questions such as inquiring into my financial or professional profile. If he had, he might have discovered that I am not in need of his expertise in financial matters (that's actually my field of expertise!)
I was charged for an exam and x-ray and the doctor looked in my mouth for about thirty seconds, reviewed my x-ray, handed me a referral slip to another doctor and gave the x-ray film directly to me, rather than sending it on to their referral partner, with the obvious message from both the doctor and hygienist that I was not needed or welcomed as a client. The entire process from start to finish took about 20 minutes. Stunned by the manner in which I was treated, I'd forgotten to ask about treatment for my infection and I called afterward to ask about it, and received no return call.
I immediately made an appointment with another dentist for the dental care that I need. I will not be returning to Laurelwood Dental. I got the distinct impression that by simply asking about payment arrangements, it was assumed that I could not pay my fees. They'll be missing out on several thousand dollars worth of dental work.
Pros: Parking Available.
Cons: Rude, Assumptive

I was very impressed with this office and the staff. I was referred by a friend who raved about her dentist and am now very happy to have found a good dental home. Both Dr. Hall and Dr. Rice explain treatment very well and have an up to date office. They used a computer to make my crown at the same appointment! That was impressive.
